The greatest comeback ever.
-
The collapse begins from Willicini. Colo is injured so I give him this time but WTF happened to Williamson? He looks like a dead man walking around, no intensity, no concentration, that's even worse than O'Brien. What happened to him?

Relegation here we come.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal - 5/2/2011 - Pre match despair

Lovenkrands in front of Ranger? Jesus christ. -
I'd prefer to play Vukcic rather than Ireland.
-
I have a feeling that the club now will only sign players that are thoroughly scouted, e.g. Tiote. They'd rather not sign any player if they are not sure the player will be a hit. How does Ireland fit into that theory? Loan signings, e.g. Ben Arfa.

That's quite impressive to be honest.
-
He is an excellent reserve centre back. Keep him.
-
That said, even if Ben Arfa cannot run as fast as before, his technique is still good enough to contribute something to our play. Smith has nothing and thus contributes nothing.
-
Take your chance and improve as fast as possible. I don't blame you for not able to perform now but if you couldn't prove that you merit a place in the first team before the end of the season, we must buy 2 decent/established strikers and that's it for your future here.
-
Now I really start to worry for relegation. I can't see us beating any team now. We simply can't score.
-
No one to replace him. Anyone. This guy's completely disappeared from the pitch. We really play like a 10-men team.
-
Nolan must be dropped.
-
Best is shit. Why not Ameobi and Ranger for the starting lineup. Fxxk. Nolan without Carroll playing alongside contributes nothing. Hardly surprising though.
-
Words from OUR CAPTAIN? Sell him this summer - well, not that far, but strip him of the armband is a must.
-
What's wrong with that?
-
I already answered to that, obviously you make the decision based on what you view the players potential to be. If you expect him to keep improving ofcourse you negotiate his contract. If Carroll wasnt a young lad who had improved ridiculously in the last few months then i wouldnt necessarily be arguing that we should have listened to him atall. OK, I have had enough, Jayson, sorry, we aren't Man City. Your plan is always right - just not applicable to us.
-
Jayson, while you're continuing your "market value theory", I wanna say, in real world, we cannot adjust the wage downwards. If we always re-negotiate the contract with the players when they want, the wages will only go higher and higher and we will definitely go bankrupt.
-
That's what I give Carroll my last trust - he didn't want to leave but just want to do a Rooney to get a pay rise.
-
I think this is a remarkable circumstance in which Carrolls previously agreed wage doesnt match the rest of the prems idea of his valuation. I think Carroll became obviously very aware of that & tried to use it to alter what he was making. I think we should have reacted to that by negotiating his contract yes. For other players no, in this situation yes. This situation probably hasnt ever happened in football before. Outside of that i doubt Carroll would have created issues if we'd just rejected the bid & wage increase demands. He gets on with the players in the side & loves the club. Adam is in a similar situation at blackpool. There were many other ways to do it, we wanted the money & i dont necessarily agree that it was the best decision for our club. Its just very debateable. Not for a player who just have 6 months EPL experience and 3 months after new contract's signed. I understand your point, really. I would accept it if Carroll agrees to sign a new contract of 90k after this season ends, subject to his performance. He is just too greedy by doing so NOW. What will other players feel if we really agree to his demands? If I am Enrique I would immediately submit a transfer request as well. That's not "ambition" but purely "unfair treatment". I do think Carroll has some "love" towards the club. But he has gone way too far this time (probably due to his agent) which Ashley has no choice but to sell him. It's a harsh lesson for him but sorry that's it. He probably just thinks "I am local lad, geordie, no.9, england regular international, superstar, etc and so I should get more. The club won't reject my demand as IT SOUNDS FAIR". This is probably what his agent told him since his agent knows he will get a lucrative commission in any case - a new contract or transfer to Liverpool.
-
I said it earlier. But say tottenham were offered 35m for VDV instead at that point in the window. Do you think theyd have sold him? They will sell him.
-
And decide that our poor owner was caught offguard by the whole thing. The poor guy obviously wanted to keep Carroll till he wanted more money. He wanted him out of the door man. We werent rejecting anything, it was all negotations & manipulation. Yeap, after submitting the transfer request. Not before, AFTER. No, he asked for the transfer request after we rejected the 2nd bid. Which happened after Ashley offered him his helicopter. Go read it again. You're being sold nonsense. Jayson, back the square one, do you think the club should bow down to Carroll's ridiculous demand? Ashley has decided that Carroll should be sold once helding the club to ransom (pretty clear, please) and rest, yes, is manipulation. What's wrong with that then? Ashley's trying his best to get the max money for the club (or himself, anyway) which is correct. Or you think Ashley should tell Carroll "My dear son, you shouldn't do that, no next time ok?" and let Carroll to create troubles within the team? Helding the club to ransom is unacceptable at any case. Carroll's asking for a new contract AFTER Liverpool made the bid. FFS.

he has backed up what Pards said... because if you are in talks about a proper new deal its not with your manager its with your Chairman. Yep. In fact the story is quite clear now.
