Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Glad they didn’t jump out. No way they could afford Isak now. -
To be honest if I am Isak I would demand the club to give me a new contract or let me go. Just like what Howe said, footballer career is short and now since I am widely regarded as the best striker in the world, it’s the best time to get what I want. We probably have no choice but to give him a new contract, the only way to resolve the matter now
-
I don’t think we lose out all our targets just because the cartel clubs are in. Our willingness of not paying the market price / wages also played a big part imo. you may say the club is right to not paying over the odd - only if we are able to move on and bring in other players in accordance to our back up plans. If we are unable to do so, or just have some panic buys that does not fit Howe’s needs, then this windows’ strategy is a complete failure. 40 days to go. I am confident that Nickson has compiled a long long list for the management to choose. It’s up to them to act timely and wisely now.

Please don’t jump out of the deal, fucking scousers -
Alternatively, I think if that’s really what we got this season, Howe has no choice but to sacrifice local cup games and just focus on EPL and ECL
-
I can only assume the club doesn’t really rate Trafford that high and thus don’t wanna risk spending 40m on him. If they do rate Trafford and believe he is the answer for the next decade then 40m is not expensive - we are talking about securing the starting GK for England for the next ten years. Just like Pickford, that 30m was probably Everton’s best business in the last decade. Confused
-
It’s just definition - if all those players are sold at a price that higher than our offer, then we are lowballing - we offer a price lower than the market value.
-
You either pay more to get the target “proven” player you want, or trust the scouting department and buy youngsters that not yet made their names from other leagues. currently we are just lowballing proven players. Of course we won’t get much rewards.
-
I don’t think we paid much effort on Trafford. Very likely just an enquiry and that’s it. Every else is just made up by media and agent
-
Genuinely speaking I don’t expect a new GK, even though media keep on buzzing around, there is no official approach from us for Trafford. Pope and Dub very likely will continue for this season. A new CB is a must. After that it would be a new multi-purpose attacker and a new CM I.e. same as your priority.
-
exactly. We are already counting on Bruno and Tonali playing full mins every game, with only Miley coming from the bench. people might not get it but if we don’t sign any CM now we need to rely on Joe White this season.
-
We definitely need to sign a new CM or we will have a disastrous season

If nearly all our offer are lower than the final agreed market price then we are definitely lowballing. -

I hope Liverpool complete the deal asap. Imagine if Liverpool pulled out now. -

none, that’s why they can’t go for Isak anymore. Ekitike’s fund is the last bullet they have. their original plan is to try to persuade Isak to hand in transfer request, thus force us to let him go, imo. now they need to settle for Ekitike and, imo, not something we should miss given the fees quoted and what he really brings to the team -

and also they didn’t rate Ekitike that high. They aren’t pleased with the reported fees. This whole saga is weird in all aspects. All. -

Not really, keeping Isak is always my top top priority. If letting Liverpool got Ekitite can help to retain Isak I am genuinely happy for that. No matter how good Ekitike could be he won’t be as good as Isak, the best striker currently in the world. -

To be fair it’s good that Liverpool got Ekitike now and therefore out of the Isak race next year, thus increasing our chance of extending his contract -

yea, that’s why I am a little bit puzzled. Say if we splash 100m on Ekitike, got him, marvellous, and then? No way we would let him sit on the bench and so we are definitely going to change to 4-4-2. Would that work? That’s really a big change to our system. -

He definitely would ask whether he is a guaranteed starter here before making the decision.
