  6. from whufc.com : 07/07/2007 18:43 Following comments attributed to Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez today, West Ham United would like to make it clear that Craig Bellamy has not yet completed a move to Upton Park. After a fee of £7.5million was agreed between the two clubs, we can confirm that the Welsh international captain has successfully passed a medical and agreed personal terms. However, the deal has been delayed due to a private contractual issue between Craig Bellamy and Liverpool, which must be resolved before any transfer can be completed. The player is due to meet with Liverpool on Monday morning, and we expect to complete the transfer soon after. As always, confirmation of any new signing will appear here on whufc.com as soon as it is formally completed. Link: http://www.whufc.com/articles/article.php?page_id=9273

    David Rozehnal

from:fulhamweb.com Paris St Germain defender David Rozehnal has arrived on Tyneside with a view to completing a move to Newcastle United. The 26-year-old Czech international was at St James' Park on Monday afternoon to hold talks and undergo a medical. Manager Sam Allardyce hopes to be able to tie up what would be his third summer signing within 24 hours and take the first step towards rebuilding his defence. The Magpies tabled a bid of Ј2million earlier this month, but amid interest from Borussia Dortmund, increased the offer last week. Allardyce stepped up his interest in Rozehnal after missing out on Israel international Tal Ben Haim, who opted to join Chelsea on a free transfer rather than follow his former manager from Bolton to the north-east. Having wasted no time in taking striker Mark Viduka and midfielder Joey Barton to Tyneside, the new boss swiftly turned his attention to the club's defence. Rozehnal has been in his sights for some time, as have Liverpool's Sami Hyypia and Marseille skipper Habib Beye. His agent, Pavel Zika, revealed on Friday evening that a deal had been struck, and now it is a question of passing a medical and concluding the discussions. However, it is unlikely he would be the last defender to join the club this summer with Titus Bramble, Craig Moore, Oguchi Onyewu and Olivier Bernard all having left since Allardyce succeeded Glenn Roeder.
