  1. Perch has very decent height for a centreback. Being piss weak is his issue. And generally crap.
  2. Think he was looking to make sure the red didn't give a foul to Valencia tbf. He didn't consider diving. Excellent strength from the old warrior tbf.
  3. Great player but his finishing isn't the greatest atm. Would just miss a bucket load.
  4. Madrid are the fastest and strongest team in La Liga.
  5. Aye, an injury to one of our CB's and it's curtains.
  6. Bellamy's withdrawn from the match. So somebody on tens of £1,000's a game.....take the day of because a friend dies?.....I doubt this would be tolerated in "normal" jobs...why here? LOL yes it would. Especially in a performance field with a lot at stake.
  7. I hadn't known any of the scores. I thought Wolves were going to mount a fightback for this very reason.
  8. Was the same at Inter tbf. Not in terms of finances, but his rivals were royally up the shitter when he won his Scudettos. He had very strong finances too and nabbed some of the best talent from their rivals.
  9. I don't know if it's true or not but it does sound hilarious.
  10. This is probably the most common "type" of racism but it's still unacceptable. That's pretty much what John Terry (supposedly) done and it's not right. It indicates some kind of deep-lying prejudice too, that may not be overt but work to divide society. It shouldn't be that hard to leave someone's race out of it when you're angry/upset/confused/drunk.
  11. Yep, I would've thought Al would highlight it.
  12. Spain where boring at the WC if everyone has forgotten.
  13. VI has said this a few times. tbf Alonso could do Busquests role. But the three of them doesn't work to full efficiency.
  14. I've thought Spain have been playing the wrong individuals in the wrong positions ever since Del Bosque took over and i'm still certain they could get a 10% increase in performance. Yet they've won the WC at that time
  15. Some of the comments in the last few pages here are hilarious. Are we ready to admit he's a good manager who has done a good job yet?
  16. In his prime you wouldn't have a player torment Ferdinand the way Torres would Vidic. Just wouldn't happen. For a good 5 years, Ferdinand was an integral part of what was a very solid English defence. Whether with Campbell or Terry. In general, I see more plaudits for the Carragher/Terry type defenders than Colo/Ferdinand more athletic and ball playing type and I reckon this has an affect on the type of player we produce in England. We have international central midfielders who are not as comfortable on the ball as Carvalho, Luiz, Lucio, King, Ferdinand. Little was made of the fact that Coloccini has a better first touch, comfort on the ball, intelligence of space than Stoke's midfield pairing. It's well documented that are midfielders and attackers lack the technique of their continental counterparts but it's also true and important in defence/gk's too.
  17. Was watching MOTD2 last night and for those who didn't watch it they did a Fergie's All Time Manc 11. They had Vidic ahead of Ferdinand and I was a little shocked. I reckon Ferdinand's been career's been a little under-rated. To me he's been the best CB in the division of the last decade. Would have him ahead of Vidic & Terry who even at their peak and greater weaknesses than Ferdinand. Wanted to know who NO deemed to be the greater servant, Rio or Nemanja?
  18. Has Vidic been a better player for Man Utd. than Rio Ferdinand.
  19. Spurs did deserve the draw against us like.
  20. Oh aye RVN. But I never really saw him play before the injury. If never seen Ronaldo before the first one you'd think I was crazy for saying "aye he's the best player in the world now but he was even better 3 years ago." Same could apply for RVN. They weren't 31 either.
  21. Judging by his reaction, he may have done his ACL. I think Bobby Pires is the only player I have seen have that injury and return to his very best.
  22. Spurs are an excellent side tbf. Either them or Arsenal for 4th. A lot will depend on the fitness of key men obviously. 2-0. Fantastic goal.
  23. When Tioté gets injured, right? No. Not when Diame is good going forward and defending. He's not better than Tiote at what Tiote does, but in a partnership with someone like Cabaye, we'd be better off because both work hard, can pass the ball and help defend. So... he does the role Cabaye is meant to? Surely a Tiote-Diame partnership would be better.
