  1. Villa finished high in the group phase - got a bye into the last 16 and a top seed. They earned that.
  2. Villa’s CL run is a success. Ours wasn’t. It also going to be very lucrative - ours was minimally. IMO their CL run and the sale of Duran will have done wonders for their revenues. CL run has got to be £50m+. Ours was what? £32m?
  3. Fair. Was this straight after a game?
  4. I don't think so. He barely played. I didn't rate him much but.. barely saw him play.
  5. I believe "squad cost" in the FFP/PSR sense = yearly wages (players and staff only) + amortisation. That's the yearly accounting cost of the squad. The actual squad cost is always going to be super high.
  6. I think it's neutral. No big surprises. PSR will continue to be a massive challenge. Our revenue was 50m more than West Ham. CL next season would be brilliant man.
  7. In line with expectations. Amortisation + wages close to 100% of revenue. Match day income is fascinating. Ours is close to West Ham (London I guess), not that far behind Man City (70m, including all CL home games possible during that period) and then way behind Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U.
  8. Did anyone have strong opinions on him? he didn’t play much. Didn’t impress much. Not much opportunity to impress. That’s fair to say.
  9. Getting a run and proving his worth. Happy for him
  10. Most gutting game since PSG. Probably worse actually. PSG I had righteous anger. This.. more reminiscent of Sporting in the UEFA Cup.
  11. Based on vibes - I think CL is needed to keep Isak. For the lads own good and our coffers. The other comps are good for our co-efficient and a great chance of winning a cup. But then I think we need sales and a rebuild.
  12. Forest don't have to do great to get to 65ish points. 5 wins, 2 draws, 4 defeats. Tough fixtures though. We have to be pretty good to get the same points.
  13. Barnes does look much slower than his Leicester days. I thought he was rapid for them. He's still gets to his spots and can execute mind. Much prefer him 1v1 than Gordon
  14. Wages and squad cost paint a full picture of resources spent. Mbappe has a net spend of 0 to Real Madrid. Does that demonstrate the resources Real have spent in him? No. His Astronomical wages do. Bournemouth’s net spend six’s promotion is much. Probably close to Real Madrid. At worst half the cost. But the wages will be 4x minimum.
  15. Net spend is a shit metric. Wages and squad cost more important. Brighton rank well at both. But Brighton aren’t consistently competitive and have sharpened their approach over what 15 years? 20? We are in year 4 of this thing.
  16. Can he coach a side that can win consistently without a high press?
  17. Aye I thought he was good for most of 90 minutes. But he was the weakest player in extra time. I thought he was lucky to escape without conceding a penalty. The lead up to that ur goal I think he hesitated causing the pressure. Was he injured? Tiredness looked to contribute. A 22-year old fullback shouldn’t be the most tired player on the pitch. But a lot of factors at play.
  18. He’ll score in Gordon’s absence. Maybe more G/A. But it doesn’t feel like he offers enough despite a good output.
  19. A lot of our better footballers also aren’t the best at putting their foot on the ball. Joelinton, Tonali, Gordon.
  20. Brighton do have decent depth tbf. They have 3 RWs that would push for a start with us. Multiple 10s.
  21. Looked bang average for most of the season. We look so leggy. Don’t look motivated. Intensity is gone. Seems to be the tactic in the face of leggy players.
  22. Someone different winning it means a European slot taken. we need City to win. That would likely mean 7th gets CL.
