Not really. It's our away form pure and simple. 8 points away. EIGHT! real Fulham stuff. This time last year we had 24. If we managed just half of last seasons haul, it would have been a decent season.

At least one of Gouff/Marv will be a starter next season.

i'm not concerned about the niggly ones. It's the borderline reds that get me, Remember when he came back from injury. At least twice in his first 4 games he put in a real bad challenge for no reason. At least the yellow that he didn't get at Benfica was when they where actually attacking. -

very luckily imo. Maybe because he's almost a wee lad. Maybe it's because he's a class player. Maybe it's because he's beautiful. But he gets away with a lot. Arguable red cards being yellow etc. long may it continue but he'll need to adapt slightly. -
Not sure how he would fare against the Benteke's or even Ba's personally. Early days.

The idea that Colo is third choice at the club is/was ludicrous. Most certainly. Colo and Yanga-Mbiwa would be my preferred partnership due to how good both are on the ball as well as defensively. They showed it away at Metallist, that was the best display as a pairing from our central defenders this season. Concerned with us aerially with that. I know Mapou's fast but is he strong? Not sure about him in the air either. I know Colo's not the best in the air and he isn't the strongest. A cerebral defender at his best.

Me too, I really like his style of play and I hate the cliche about the physical nature of the English game, but I fear there is a bit of truth to it. He can't complete against quite a lot of CMs in the league. Support from Cabaye and Sissoko might mitigate that a bit, but it's still a concern. Cabaye, as agressive as he is only compounds that problem at times. I honestly don't think (with everyone fit) there's any additional room for players lacking physical presence. A hell of a lot of our 'good' players who we all want on the field often get bullied off the ball and don't compete for set pieces. Agreed. I do like how Tiote & Perch can compete in the air, Tiote in particular has a lot more presence in midfield. Marv has to play with freedom or centrally. Cabaye has to start obviously. No room for a man the size of Vernon in midfield imo.

Unsure of him at DM in the PL.
-
WC year he'll move in the summer if QPR go down. If he can grab 15-20 next year in the PL he'll be in Rio come June. Do think he'll end up at Arsenal/Spurs/L'pool/chels. Maybe higher in the league on the bench.

The tackles man. His tackles are worse than Tiote's. Tiote makes the silly ones. Cabaye makes the dangerous ones. Wish he'd cut it out a bit. Some real Paul Scholes stuff. -
This. Do worry about the injuries mind. He's almost 27 and he's played 60 less games than Steven Taylor in his career. Way less than Hatem Ben Arfa too. According to Wiki anyway. I also expect a dip in form in the near future. Don't think he's had a run of games like this in a very long time in his career.

Benfica or mackems. Which is More Important?
The College Dropout replied to MyPalAl's topic in Football
If we lost to Sunderland still pretty certain we won't get relegated. Think Stoke, Norwich, Reading and QPR will all finish below us. I do think if we beat Sunderland, they will get relegated. -
Especially concerning considering we need a two goals advantage over Benfica as a minimum.
-
Always said that its concerning that we rarely win comfortably. Can't remember the last time we won by 2 or 3 goals. Or even winning 2-0.
-
He often hides from te ball when we have it. Not in the last few weeks mind. Good work Jonas lad.

Totally agree that he's much better alongside Tiote. Tiote seemingly covers more ground than the others and shows for the ball more. Freeing Cabaye to be more effective. Without Tiote, Cabaye seems to do more leg work and plays deeper. -
Would rather he forgot about it the night before and just learnt from it. I can imagine he was pumped as a result but being relaxed and focused is better IMO

I was gutted we weren't in for him in the summer. I think Pardew would love him personally. Our current set-up requires a lot of creativity from the midfield and thus attacking. With Berbatov we could go 4-4-2. Leave the 2 up top to provide magic and have the rest primarily defend. That was te foundation of last season.

Benfica, obviously. Id say the same thing about a league cup QF. -
Can't complain when he scores a last minute winner. Well done son.

We only have one good player in the air. Cisse is pretty poor at defending the near post. -
Exactly. He should've scored. I see a brace on his horizon.
-
The chance in the second half from that Marveaux through ball was indeed a golden opportunity. One on one with the goalkeeper with plenty of time, you'd expect your star striker to score really. This is it for me. This is the reason why people rate him. An immense finisher. I am disappointed he didn't walk away with a brace. Had he managed that, I would fancy us to nick it at SJP. As much as we did get quality balls from out wide. Siss & Marv created. Benfica played to Cisse's strengths too. It was his best performance this season no doubt. But truthfully, he wasn't that good.
-
Would still look to upgrade in the summer. His best game of the season and he scores 1 of 3 golden opportunities. 11 goals in 40 from your striker will make you look twice at his position. Do think he'll go on a run. He's due too.
