Net Spend is a convenient way of papering over poor signings. Barton & Smith are straight swaps (in terms of price) with the under achieving Parker and Dyer... Barton & Smith have been poor. But their fees aren't included when we talk this net spend bollocks.
-
..... You have issues which need to be resolved.
-
Aye this is true. He seems a Big Sam style player.
-
People on this board are obsessed with net spend. Net spend doesn't matter, especially when you sell 2 players for a combined fee of £12.5. That's more than enough money to replace them. When people bring up Sam "only" spending £10m net, it just reeks of desperate justification of bad signings and wasted money. That is all.

Could Michael Owen do a slide tackle without getting injured?

No he had a few big injuries whilst at Man United. Now Femi, that's a machine right there. Honourable mention for durability goes to Milner and Charlie. -
Not much else that can be said. mackems.gif @ Smith "creating" the first goal.

NE5 HTL Alex Ferguson ? You're still obsessed I see. Speaking about being obsessed, its about time you changed your sig too mackems.gif If he thought he was top class he wouldn't sell him. Same here, funnily enough. Everybody knows this. The point is they haven't been properly replaced.
-
Aye but I thought he was left on 5-10 minutes too long. A fit Ramos would run all day long, you could tell when he wasn't there for the 1-2 that the injury was too much for him. He then proceeded to getting skinned twice when normally he would match the player with ease and almost costing a goal through no real fault of his own.

Pepe looks a good player and Diarra played brilliantly.. rarely gave away the ball or wasted possession unlike the Barcelona players.
-
I remember that. At first he dismissed Oba as being offside, after the replay showed he wasn't he was talking about "50/50"... no... no it isn't 50/50... fucking twat

I dont think Souness was that bad, yes he spent alot but to take some names: Owen Parker Emre Luque How many of us complained when we signed them? Keane on the other hand spent big money on s**** (apart from Gordon although he spent quite abit!), everyone knew that before they played a game! Boumsong Faye Waste of money & wages the lot of them.

We don't even have a proper captain.

Aye that Ajax team have been garbage over the years like. Oh f*** wait, Johan Cruijff says f*** you. The examples you give are always the exception to the domination of 442. How many international tournaments, champions league tournaments, premierships have been won by 433? About 6? How many have been won by 442? about 1,069,991 and counting. Funny thing is, if someone tried telling Johan Cruijff his team were successful because of the formation and that in a different formation the personnel wouldn't have been as successful, he'd probably tell you to f*** yourself, an rightly so! Is this a wind-up? The last three Premierships have been won with 4-3-3. The current leaders play 4-5-1. False. Arsenal only play 4-5-1 because of injuries and because Eduardo can't perform in the league. They are a 4-4-2 team no doubt. Van Persie and Adebayour would start up front together. And a 4-3-3 is a different formation from 4-5-1.

No but you see, you've mentioned a name.

Kaka needs a haircut. Messi looks like he decided to stay out & play football rather than having a bath.

As individuals the England team are very strong. I don't think the Italians are a class above England but they won the WC.

Yeah, along with Gerrard, Torres, Lampard, Rooney, Fabregas I thought Gerrard played well.
