  1. Pope. Trippier. Botman. Isak. Burn. Pretty much in the first team straight away. Bruno and Gordon took some time to get starts. But got minutes off the bench in pretty much every game. Livra and Hall are not in that boat. Their boat looks like the Targett boat.
  2. People understand that. But we have football to play this season. them rotting on the bench isn’t good for their development either.
  3. The injuries and suspension are just unfortunate. The Livra/Hall situation is a massive problem though. We could’ve bought players that would actually play for that money.
  4. This. It’s more and more evident that he doesn’t trust them. He doesn’t even really trust Targett either. Unless we are comfortably winning, chasing a game or losing badly - he’ll not take Burn off. Similar thing with the team shape.
  5. Well deserved. Bad performance here from the team and Eddie.
  6. Sometimes we need to defend with 2 banks of 4. Wolves keep getting overloads.
  7. What he considers rotation options are all injured or unavailable. Barnes, Isak, Tonali, Murphy, Anderson. The rest are proper backups in Howe’s eyes. Unless we go behind I expect Dan Burn to play 90 minutes.
  8. We’ve been poor off the ball defensively imo. We need a compact block.
  9. It’s not a penalty. But stick with the onfield decision because it’s not a clear and obvious mistake.
  10. It’s usually better. we are missing ISAK’s dynamism.
  11. Agree with this fully. Chelsea didn’t have competition in spending either in PL terms except Man U.
  12. Even that would be a lot of evolution for them. All of their semi successful managers have been super ‘pragmatic’ and a bit old school in approach. Holloway, Pulis, Pardew, Vieira, Hodgson. Potter’s style of play would be very different for the club and its fans to handle if it isn’t successful from the jump. They can be low scoring without the aimless passing in the back line.
  13. I do find it annoying how quickly the media want to gove Poch and Chelsea credit.
  14. That’s a bit of a contradiction. The identity of the club is based on the catchment area (that is fairly unique in comparison to the whole of England) and their youth products. Their identity is so strong that players that aren’t even from the youth ranks or the catchment area like Eze or Olise are considered typical Palace players. And they field more players from the wider area than any PL club. Not to mention a lot of the football management people of the club are supporters, played for the club or from the area. Their limiting factor is that they are probably too London-centric and insular. Southgate will be their next manager. It will be boring to watch. They will have their usual mix of exciting young talent from London and experienced PL players. It will be more boring than it should be. But to say Crystal Palace lack identity or are highly mismanaged - is just not true. You couldn’t name 20 better run clubs in England.
  15. Conte was doing well until he got the hump. They were on pace for 70+ points until he started really moaning. And even then they did ok. Football was dire though.
  16. Not picking on you but I do hate posts like these. Palace had 5 or 6 seasons in the highest division of English football in the 30 odd years before Parish took over. Since Parish has taken over about 11 or 12 years ago, they’ve had a decade in the top division. Hardly a ‘fucking moron’. Granted they’ve not kicked on like Brighton and that’s a limitation of his leadership. But on the whole he’s done a brilliant job. If they weren’t in London, they wouldn’t be Crystal Palace.
  17. Palace a midtable team missing their 2 best players. What do people expect ?
  18. Spurs aren’t conceding many goals and it’s annoying me on FPL.
