  1. Say we finish outside of Europe. That opens a lot of doors for others.
  2. And a reason to renogotiate in 12-18 months.
  3. The star lads came from Reading and Millwall. Craig Dawson and Cheikhou Kouyaté types are under-rated in a relegation scrap too.
  4. Palace did it with their squad refresh. Spent their money on mostly English talent and players with experience in English football. Eze, Olise, Guehi, Anderson, Gallagher on loan. The crown jewels came from the Championship. They adapt much faster to the PL. Can take the rough and tumble.
  5. No reputable sources have suggested he’s bet on football games.
  6. Most of his creation was via set-pieces. I don't think he's a creator in the Bruno F, KDB or Maddison mould at all.
  7. It's just my personal view. In reality, I would treat it like cigarettes. No advertising. No high-street stores. Massive warnings where people can partake. It doesn't add anything to society. It should be confined to those who really want to participate and there should be stricter liability on individual bookies. I would probably do the same for most illegal drugs. Make it legal to the point of largely removing the organised crime element and supporting those who are addicted.
  8. This is a relative golden era for the club no doubt in modern terms. Crazy thing is - most of us expect things to get even better.
  9. His offence was legit against the rules and cheating. But he did it as a Spurs player which is why I think the FA was the ruling party. I don't think it's enforceable and would create a black market. But in a perfect world, I would ban gambling. It's a massive net negative to society.
  10. Do you think we do background checks like players were joining MI5?
  11. Raphinha has great work rate. Need it to play in that Bielsa Leeds team. Other PL clubs would stump up more cash though.
  12. I still think we need another passer in there. My guess is that player can also play wide - a Szob profile or more athletic Maddison.
  13. Initially, that was the plan though, which is why Burn started Brighton at CB. We looked better with Lascelles at CB and Burn LB and he's stuck with that. IMO - he doesn't. He doesn't have the required running power - which is a big reason he's not getting minutes at Arsenal too.
  14. No they can't. Bruno can tell them to jog on, but in all likelihood, conversations will have been had between parties already
  15. has anyone said he’s ’not good technically’?
  16. This is stereotypical but he reminds me of those Italian midfielders of yesteryear who played for the top Italian clubs - intelligent, athletic, hardworking and solid but unspectacular technically. I've never watched these players in detail I must add. But the likes of Conte, Gattusso, Ambrosini, Marchisio, Perrotta. They provided a solid base to allow the more talented players to shine. Tonali needs to settle in properly to do that. That type of player doesn't scream £60m star midfielder but that's not Tonali's fault.
  17. This does tease the question. What is he meant to be good at for us in midfield? In my mind - it's a bit of everything. Similar to Longstaff - but better. We should use him more for decoys in our setpieces. Like against Villa.
  18. Aye a lot of what he's good at - isn't flashy so it's difficult to pick up. My memory is bad but I don't think he was great in either game but he had qualities for sure and I'm maybe missing tings. I didn't watch the West Ham game but I was glad his pass completion % was 90+. In a lot of games he's been loose in possession but the opposition has been tough and on our toes. I assume West Ham let us have it with less pressure.
  19. A lot of people have compared him to Paqueta. But I always thought Paqueta looked top technically - it was just a question of whether he could adapt to Moyes and the league. With Sandro it's a bit different. We knew he wasn't a technician, but at times he's been super sloppy with the first touch and his passing. I expected a super committed player but haven't seen that consistently either. I'm hoping that a lot will change as he adjusts to the city and the league. I try to remember how Rodri and Gundo looked when they first joined. It can take a player a whole year to settle in. But yeh I'm hoping with Tonali. Think he has pushed the local lads to be even better which is a bonus of competition.
  20. He was great on his day. 2018 World Cup I thought he was the best player. He was dazzling in the Brazil & France games. Most players born in the 90s still have some good years left in them. My top 3 so far would be - Mbappe, Neymar then Hazard. 1 has retired, and another is in semi-retirement. Both you feel could've achieved more. Mbappe has time on his hands. I have KDB a distant 4th. He has a great career but he's a step down in talent.
  21. Another one of my favourites is when Man U beat the Arsenal Invincibles run. Refereeing disasterclass. You're talking 5-6 awful decisions. Not one wrong decision and one dubious one as we get now.
  22. I'm not his biggest fan but I don't think we can sell him. He's the standard for work-rate and press that others need to learn from. He needs a year with his replacement so the replacement can see how it's done off the ball. If Minteh lad is the truth, get him in with Miggy next season.
  23. Offsides pre-VAR were so often incorrect. We don't appreciate it enough. Some crazy fouls too. This was normal for Man Utd
  24. For some reason, i thought he had signed a mega contract with West Ham earlier. Guess it was being discussed and likely to be signed. Neto has a looooong contract with Wolves too but they are more likely to have a release clause and be willing sellers. Still looking at the best part of £45-60m.
