Aye. Owners are the most important people at a club.
-
His main weakness is that he’s just not that good at football.
-
Do you think these 4 have the ability to consistently play in a top 6 side?
-
And the best ball carrier and dribbler of the lot is probably Murphy and he has the least ability of them all.
-
Be shocked if Almiron scores 10 or more league goals next season. I’ve watched enough football in my life to know that at least 2 of those lads don’t have top level ability. Like Significant technical limitations.
-
Can see us having a look in January. Barnes Gordon Almiron Murphy Feels weak. Looks weak. Lacks that bit of magic.
-
It is fairly horrific like. Many players don’t return to their best after one.
-
No resentment I just see the pattern repeating all over the forum.
-
This forum hated when I used the word ‘gegenpress’.. there’s a certain disdain for emerging football terminology. Yet they all hate PFMs and Souness
-
Which is why the links to Anderson confuse me. He’s slow too. We need a player in the mould of Konate at Liverpool.
-
Waiting for us to announce Livra incase Soton play funny buggers again
-
Has Bale’s young ability to beat a player. Bale had elite technique though. Even in his second spell at Spurs he was tucking away half chances with ease when on the pitch.
-
Happy if we’ve got him. I rate him highly.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

If we go deep into Europe we’ll struggle to keep that intensity and we’ll get more injuries. Being out of Europe and league cup next year (as in January) would be a massive disappointment. But if we have a fit squad, we’ll be able to attack the second half of the season with an impressive squad. -

England has an advantage already because we’ve got an additional Europa spot thanks to West Ham winning the Conference. You would expect all of our second tier European clubs to get to the KOs. We are probably the weakest representative in Europe for the coefficient (relatively speaking). -

They finished what? 5 points behind us? Not playing in the CL alone is worth another points. Great post. Particularly regarding CL football. It’s such a drain on a squad and only 6 teams are allowed to comfortably build a squad for it because of FFP. If we finish 4th again Howe is a genius. -
Because I’ve identified a weakness in our team? I have no problem with any player that gives 100%. By all measures he’s a top lad too. But I think he’s limited in one of his supposed strength areas and I’m going to use NO to discuss them.
-
It’s just because of FFP. PIF tried to sign Mbappe to Saudi. If it was an option with us, they would be all over it. It’s not possible. So we are doing the best we can with what we have. It is a bit shit aye.

Who were 4th in that period? Liverpool? -

Liverpools biggest issue was the midfield and a lack of legs. They’ve solved that. Villa under Emery matched us for points. And they’ve strengthened considerably. And their European adventures are likely to be less arduous. I don’t expect they finish above us but I wouldn’t be surprised. We had the most players with 2000+ minutes in the league last year. We’ve only added 1 body and so far look heavily reliant on that small group of players. 3 of which are 30+. -
I don’t like Burn defensively. That’s my biggest issue with him. He needs a lot of support
-
Currently I think a decent CL run and 7th would be a good season. Chelsea and Spurs without European football is a boost.
-
You’re never going to get 100% of our transfers bang on. We haven’t had a 100% hit rate under the new ownership. Our squad isn’t stronger than Spurs. We would swap our entire frontline with theirs. Our squad is far behind Man U. If we had the injuries Man U had in defence we would’ve finished 8th. We’ve got the 7th/8th strongest squad in the league. That’s where we should be based on what we’ve spent. Thankfully our manager is getting 110% from everyone which will hopefully continue to push us up the league.

I’m including Gordon, Barnes and the concrete links to Livramento. Our forays into Ligue 1 has landed us relative bargains.

The main guy behind Leicester died and the family money machine stalled. Those are the big points of imo. The rest is a consequence of all that. Bloom is the best owner in England. HE Didn’t hire Ashworth by mistake. He didn’t hire DeZerbi by mistake. He’s the smartest operator around. As long as he’s there, Brighton will be good.
