Has Dummett played a single minute of league football? How many minutes in total?
-
Yeh Isak is a level or two above Wilson. It's that simple.
-
Dummett Longstaff Gillespie Anderson Thats our 4. In a 25 man European squad we could then register 21 non Newcastle HG players. We could bring back Forster or Krul so we have 2HG GKs.
-
This season he has been tbf. And he’s always been good at attacking headers. He might be the best in the squad for that.
-
But better in the air then Fab
-
Watch a lot of Palace and nope to both him and Olise. Unless we can get them for under £20m. It's Zaha & Anderson for me. Palace won't go down mind.
-
European football. If we're in the Europa or Conference they'll get good minutes there. And in the CL. We'll just need the depth for everything. If we have no European football. I would consider doing a Chelsea style thing where we bring them in for modest fees, long contracts and loan them out again so their value increases. Use the following season or sell.
-
I wasn't thinking of him tbf. Had they got relegated we would've got a better price.
-
Think relegated teams in particular you get a decent price. We sold Gini & Sissoko for a combined £55m. They went on to both make over 200 appearances each for Spurs & Liverpool - that's one Naby Keita. Robertson & Maguire from relegated sides. We got Pope from Burnley for a good fee. Lots of talented lads in that relegation scrap. A lot of talented youngsters in particular. Would love them to come in for the likes of Murphy & Ritchie.

Generally - signing the best players from mid-lower to relegared PL sides is a good strategy.
-
We've got a decent chance of 4th like.

I said 12-15 earlier and I stick by it -
I had read they wanted to give him a long contract but that doesn't seem to be the case. But the latest Athletic article suggests there are a number of complications particularly the new regimes fondness of highly-incentivised contracts. I like that idea across football. As I understand most high-level contracts are 80-90% secured e.g. 100k p/w no matter what. Then 10k appearance bonus. Maybe 15k goal bonus etc. Much less common is a 50k base. 30k appearance bonus for 49 minutes + or 15k for any appearance. 40% bonus for qualifying for CL etc. That changes the whole complexion of the contract.

Mount wants to be paid the same as some of those coming in. Chelsea don't have to sell. But they are only offering crazy wages AND a 8/9 year type deal. Chelsea aren't interested i putting Mount on 250k for 3 years. They will only do it for 7.
-
This is so crucial for us. Tbf Villa already have a great academy but getting a Chelsea or City like conveyor belt of quality through the youth system is something that will separate us from the likes of Villa in due time. FFP wise and on the pitch
-
Isak would be great. Gangly legged horn of Africa lads are elite at 5-a-side anyway.
-
Any player we are strongly linked too, he has a hard-on for. He's at least 30 years old. Maybe 40. Perhaps even 50.
-
Thuram seems determined to do a Juve, Atleti or Paris type move.
-
Aye Mount at Liverpool seems a shout.
-
Their issue is the lack of trophies. There’s no reason why that can’t achieve what Arsenal are doing or even what Liverpool have done. With the right investment it’s possible. Levy doesn’t care for all that.
-
This is another factor about a "slow revolution". You can't have too many 200k p/w footballers on your books without starting to challenge. If things go well, Isak & Bruno will be 200k footballers. Botman 150k.
-
Hasn't managed to stay fit for 2 years. Huge red flag tahat.
-
Aye the kids actually in Brazil. It's not like every signing comes out the blue. Most have a decent amount of links and rumours, rumours of bids before we get concrete news. It's at the point that if we are persistently linked to a player that there is some truth to the rumour.
-
Isak linked for a long time. Gordon was linked. The Brazilian boys linked for some time.
-
Aye. But it's also clear Spurs is a commercial operation designed to fill Levy's pockets. I think Levy has done a tremendous job but he doesn't care for cups and such. Relatively speaking. This is a type of Glory Era for Spurs and they've won less than they did in the 80s. They've won nothing while Arsenal have hit a relative nadir and stil won trophies. Conte was right in his rant. Arsenal win trophies. Even in their nadir, they've won 2-3 FA Cups. Spurs even in a period of ascendancy - have only been to what, 2 cup finals? Lost both. Loser DNA. Eventually that will be a big hurdle for us. We aren't used to winning. We don't know how. As a fanbase we don't know how to support a team that wins.
