  1. I don't think he will and imo that would be unfair on Maxi. I don't think it's quite make or break but it is a massive oppurtunity for him to cement his place in the side. A lot of circumstances could unfold when there' so much going to every game and we have some options. He could be MOTM and be the man again and undroppable for the final with a couple strong performances. Could go the other way, be dragged off after an hour, Gordon & Almiron shines and he's a perma sub.
  2. Barcelona are in such breach of La Liga’a rules they’ve struggled to register players and have coerced Pique into retirement to free up his wages.
  3. La Liga has a wage cap tbf. Barcelona are selling revenue streams to generate short term funds. Real Madrids transfer policy is wonderkids and free transfers. And they sell a lot of players. The most financially dubious is Atleti. In comparison the PL has 2 sovereign states and Forest and Chelsea spending like there’s no tomorrow. That’s before we get to West Ham and the like.
  4. In the right system - Lukaku could come back and be a hit.
  5. Hasn't done one since the World Cup has he? Needs to jump back on it.
  6. This lad has not started a league game in a division above League 1 and... is not a CM as far as I know. We are 1 further injury or suspension away from being forced to change formation or put square pegs in round holes. It may work. We may get away with it. But we're short squad-wise.
  7. Went with 4 but could've been a 5. Positives: - Secured some good targets for the long-term - Think Gordon is a good addition to the squad - Good fee for Wood -Getting rid of deadwood Negatives: - Weaker now in our weakest area of the pitch midfield - Don't think we've strenthened the best XI - Missed opportunity to capitalise on being 3rd halfway through the season to push for Top 4 - Haven't addressed our biggest weakness as a team - quality in the final third - Think Shelvey would've been useful to keep for this season. - Anderson isn't ready for any meaningful game time but can't be loaned. Stunted development. - Think we may miss Wood's expertise from the penalty spot in the final
  8. A tackle where studs ae higher than the boot and ankle is high. It's dangerous and an awful tackle precisely because it's high, studs up and late. Malicious intent? No. But reckless, impetuous and dangerous - yes.
  9. Delighted for him. A massive player for us now.
  10. Doesn't matter if it was intentional. It was a potential leg breaking tackle. And a terrible tackle. Cabaye regularly committed terrible tackles.
  11. Battled hard but not looked dangerous for weeks.
  12. It's a terrible tackle and obviously dangerous. Why is he coming up so high? He's nowhere near the ball too. Not as bad as Fabinho's but pretty awful.
  13. Liverpool will be right up for the game. If they find some form between now and then.. at worst they'll be 7 points behind with an opportunity to cut it to 4 points. If we end that 3 game run at least 7 points clear of them, I reckon we'll finish ahead of them. Massive 3 games to come. We'll need new heroes.
  14. The wages mean it will be hard to sell these players unless they are willing to take paycuts. Atleti, Conte & Juve days of dodgy transfers looks done and that would be the best market for them. But aye I agree with the right manager - they should be competitive next season. There's enough talent across the pitch for a run at top 4 next season. They have this season to try and find a team out of those. It's similar to Forest. There's a lot of good players there. They've found a semblance of a team and are probably upper midtable in form over the last 12 games or so.
  15. It’s not a sneaky trick. Chelsea are handing out £45m contracts over 8 years. Nobody else is going to do that for largely unproven players.
  16. It’s been coming. Needs to control that.
  17. A Bruno red was inevitable at some point. He’s been close to the wind a few times.
  18. Same. Liverpool and Chelsea won’t be this bad again. Arsenal are building a serious squad too. This feels like an opportune moment. Could be wrong. With fully fit Maxi and Isak they could give us a new attacking dimension. Gordon might be a master stroke. The Midfielders might stay fit. The eye test said to me, we are increasingly struggling to create high quality chances and to finish them. I was hoping another Bruno/Isak signing in midfield or attack. I don’t think Gordon is that guy to give us that new edge.
  19. Bernardo would be a massive signing. He’s already a world class player. I’ve been hoping Madrid will sign him for years. I love him as a player. Work rate and ability in spades.
  20. The bolded isn't true or doesn't help us for the rest of the season Gordon isn't established. Barnes, Zaha are established. Gordon may have bags of potential but he isn't anywhere proven. Chris Wood played almost 700 minutes for us. That's a fair amount. We have Gordon instead which is an upgrade though. Agree with the person saying, the possible disappointment in the window is down to the CL push.
