Exactly. Spurs? SPURS? I’ll be bricking it for weeks. The match I will be a bag of nerves. We lose a close one I’ll cry. Liverpool I’ll enjoy the day. I’ll not expect to win at any point. Even 2-0 up in added time.
-
That’s it. It would hurt a lot more. Man for man - today - we are better than Spurs. And it’s Spurs. We beat them away with Bruce. Liverpool I’ll just enjoy the day.
-
… why do I want Liverpool to win? Losing to Spurs in the final I would cry. I want to keep my hopes down.
-
Who would we prefer to win? more chance of beating Spurs tbf.

Those are the types of goals I expect him to get - sharp at the backpost. Lovely.
-
Agreed that he was shakey last night. Flapped and missed at crosses. The one he kicked was crazy. Punched a few he could’ve caught. But he did enough and made some big saves.

West Ham was a nadir. I never questioned Howe’s job and was left disgusted by some of the responses in here. But it was bad. A few more weeks of those types of performances many would’ve called for Howe’s head. I think Isak picked up a knock and I took him out of my FPL team (worst decision ever). We’d scored something like 12 goals in 12 games. Good performance against Liverpool quickly wiped out by the Brentford game. We’ve been a little fortunate to catch this version of Spurs and Man U. But the turnaround has been magnificent. This is some of the best football I’ve ever seen from us. We’ve never had so much talent in central midfield. The ability on the ball, the athleticism, the character.

Aye but they didn’t need to buy 30 something players. Forest did gamble in respect that they actually tried to stay up. They weren’t even a parachute payment club like Fulham or Bournemouth. Apart from Leeds who never bothered to sign defenders - most (non parachute payment) promoted clubs don’t even attempt to stay up. I think FFP has blocked Leicester from giving it a real go but the rest don’t try. Forest came up and slapped the money down for late 20s Chris Wood. They meant business.

The quality of football in the CL is the best the sport has to offer. That part is super enjoyable. I mostly watch Madrid and it’s understated how excellent and enjoyable to watch players like Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga are and they aren’t even the star players. Watching Valverde is like watching Sandro Tonali (a brilliant player) on steroids. I’ve super enjoyed this new league format. The quality of matches has been superb and the competition is hot. By the time it gets to Thursday and Spurs - I’m footballed out. Like watching a Man U is painful.

Defensively aye. He’s locked into the right mentality quickly. Other players never get that mentality. But his previous minutes were so restricted at such a young age in a new club. And it was clear from Chelsea days he was a proper baller. And he didn’t even show that. I always felt people were drawing too many big conclusions last season. Most of which he dispelled by the end of the season anyway. It was literally 2-3 bad games some of which were 45 minutes.
-
Agreed. Bruno and Tonali are levels above anything I’ve seen. Of course we’ve had a world class striker but Isak is a different type of brilliant. Tripps and Hall at fullback. This team has been wonderful to watch and support.

Fuck off man.

It allows for so much more. Because Sandro is so much more. Sandros given us everything Longstaff did (from a slightly different position) and much much more. Sandro is proving to be a Bruno level signing. He’s been transformative and new dimensions to what the team is capable of.

Interesting how High and close to Isak the 3rd CM has been recently. Joelinton usually, Willock today. And we almost go into a back 5 out of possession with Murphy deep and the midfielder dropping in. Way better than that flat 5 with the big gap between midfield and defence.
-
Miley is only 18. Next season or the season after he could have a proper place in the squad but not now imo. Let’s give him luxury minutes now.
-
They might throw in the towel against us you know. You kinda want them to do well enough that they prioritise other comps but not well enough they fancy themselves to turn it around.
-
Confidence and momentum can add a lot. I love Longstaff but what’s his level? Bottom half PL? We’ve replaced him with a proper CL player who is a leader and plays with real authority. That’s not a small tweak.
-
Remember our ‘good’ midfielders like Scott Parker, Jermaine Jenas, Cabaye etc? Tonali’s better than them all.
-
Midfield general. Braveheart. Quality.
-
Aye he’s coming deep. Linking up. Playing balls I’m behind for others. He’s even running hard for for 90 minutes. He’s gone supersaiyan.
-
Adding muscle the right way will make him faster. most sprinters do resistance training.
-
That’s fair. But isn’t it a Saudi club that want him?
-
Could get a new contract now then sell him in the summer.
