  1. Bales been at Real 5 years. 4 CL’s. Wow.
  2. 3Peat. Let get Bale back to England. The fuck is he doing warming any benches?
  3. I’m his pomp Kewell was a fantastic player. He wasn’t fantastic those times though.
  4. I’m gutted for the lad. That’s a childhood dream. He’s 26, in his peak. Missed the Euros through injury iirc. Massive shame for him. Likewise Salah.
  5. Aye. I’m a fan of Ramos. I’m gutted for Salah. Hit his peak at the right time. CL final. World Cup. Both might be gone. Looking at it again it’s fairly innocuous. Also looks like Carvajal is out the World Cup too.
  6. Casemiro and Varane have really struggled with the press. Need to get back to it.
  7. Amazing how much that has deflated Liverpool like. Isco is forever slowing things down man.
  8. I know you have Real specs on but he clearly yanks his arm and pulls him over Yeh. It’s at least partly intentional
  9. Ramos with the arm bar TKO. FFS. Gutted for Sala. Carvajal crying. Looks like the World Cup is gone for him.
  10. Seems like Leicester will stick with Puel. I think he’s a good manager to take them to Leicester 2.0. They should be targeting regular European football and getting great young players in. Kinda like Spurs 10–12 years ago. Use their latest success to sustain a club that regularly challenges for Europe and Cups.
  11. If we had an England and Wales team we would be decent contenders for the WC.
  12. Think Ancelotti is better suited to clubs with big name stats and egos. A good manager for Man Utd. Dunno what it’s like going from Sarri to Carlo. Bayern players didn’t think raining was intense enough or something.
  13. Getting Malaga and Villareal to the latter stages of the CL while being very unlucky not to progress further is better than winning the Europa League IMO. Pellegrini also did better with City than Emery did with PSG and got a then record points total with Real Madrid I did forget about that Villarreal side tbf. Lehmann saved the last minute penalty. Same year Arsenal got to the final right? That was a top achievement aye but doesn’t the fact it was the same year Arsene went to a CL final say something? I’m that one season with Real they got beat by Lyon I’m R16 AGAIN. I think they’ve gone to the semis ata minimum every year since. He failed. But aye that Villarreal run was amazing. I don’t think either are top managers tbh. Pellegrini’s biggest achievements pre-City was a couple deep runs in the CL, no final appearances. He did ok at City. Lost the league with KDB, Silva, Yaya, Aguero etc. to Leicester City and finished begin Arsenal. If I was looking to finish 4th and win cups, while being a seller club Arsenal seem to want. Emery over Pellegrini easily.
  14. Emery’s record is far superior to Pellegrini’s. Both have won and lost with over powered teams. Emery’s successfully managed 2 teams with CL and Cup aims and no more. Pellegrini didn’t succeed at Real and did well with Malaga. Emery’s has CL qualifications in a competitive league and won trophies. I think people are looking too much into his PSG job. That’s above his ability and has different requirements. Rafa’s never a good Real manager, doesn’t mean he’s not a top coach. The remit of the Arsenal job is the same remit as Valencia and Sevilla. His prior achievements are still valid.
  15. Says a lot about how Arsenal see themselves at boardroom level. Probably accurate. 3rd tops, 5th and a cup probably an acceptable season. Probably a better chance of getting to the CL via the EL than the league.
  16. One thing I find interesting is how managers are perceived and it's difficult for them to change it. Think everyone thought Emery did a very good job at Valencia. Fans didn't like him much. They've not been CL regulars since he left. Good job at Sevilla, strengthened his rep. Then gone to PSG and lost all credibility with the players walking all over him.
  17. Don’t want to compare Wenger to Pardew but there’s a big chance the board will finally get the grief they deserve. It’s the Arsenal board that have mandated 4th as their maximum target. This signing just exposed their lack of ambition imo. Arsene got the stick but he wasn’t the main problem. If things go bad it could get ugly. Not that I think Emery is a bad manager. It’s just not an exciting appointment. A specialist in 4th.
  18. They saw all those 4th place finishes and licked their lips. Not an exciting appointment at all. Arteta might’ve been better.
  19. Felt sorry for Riviere. It was clear early doors he wasn't cut out for this.
