Great fun this.

Back to La Liga - best league in the world. 2 midtable teams. Knocking it about nicely. 40 minutes in... about 6 or 7 clear goal scoring opportunities. Should be 2-2 at the least.
-
Said it before... Spurs lack creativity in midfield. Today they had Dembele, Sissoko & Dier in midfield. Take off Dembele bring on..... Wanyama. Their attacking subs today - Lamela & Trippier... a right back. A creative one but still it says a lot. They're over-reliant on fullbacks and Eriksen for creativity.
-
Interestingly - with all the money floating around. You would think 1 or 2 really astute teams could build decent sides that could at least trouble the top 6. Looks like Leicester might be that team.... and half that time have won the league already.
-
Or Mane.
-
In that little group with clubs like Stoke, Crystal Palace & West Ham. Able to sign half decent international quality players because of the Sky money letting them buy players for £16-25m and £100k a week wages, when otherwise they'd not even look at them. I wish we where in that group like.

Southampton have been pap for some time. A lot of decent but nowt special players.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Anyone that can score goals will do -
Spurs really do play like a one-man team. 2 players in the box... none of which are Harry Kane.. plays it short to Kane. Auerier in particular. If it's not Kane, he doesn't want to know.
-
Gareth Bale with the Arjen Robben.
-
I've seen plenty say he's poor or average at best at defending. For a team that considers clean-sheets golden, he's important.
-
The moolah convinced him.

Diame’s a bit of a scapegoat and at best a victim of some lazy stereotypes. For someone with questionable athleticism, he’s good at reading the game - pressing at the right time, interceptions, tracking runners etc. Probably the best at it right now. He’s liable to give it away but he’s more adventurous with his ideas than a Hayden for example and he doesn’t tend to hide.

Big Sam is over rated. A survival specialist - one who does so at great cost mind - should never get the England job.

Lampards a great pundit? A team who 2 years ago were an average Championship team have been playing it out the back. Now I’m PL and overall doing ok. Frank Lampard the great pundit suggests they begin playing The percentages because it’s costing them a few goals. He had absolutely nothing insightful or entertaining to say.
-
Typo. 1 in the Championship. Good for the next 2 seasons in the PL. Superb really. Got pelters for saying he was awful in the 16th season. Until it came out he wanted to join San Lorenzo.
-
Colo had 3 great seasons for us including 2 in the Champo. Was pants mostly for the other 4 years.
-
He’s no N’Zonzi.
-
Cos he is our best defender and captain.we are s**** without him Also - if we cannot best Luton without him. That further reason for him NOT being risked. The positives don’t outweigh the risk. Let’s minimise the chances of him being injured for PL opposition.
-
Rafa doesn’t seem particular cautious with rotation when it comes to Lascelles mind. Played him consistently through injury last season. If I’m not mistaken, he was the only player to play all of the Christmas fixtures and to start today.

Must be nice.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

Pards should’ve waited longer. The Stoke job is perfect for him. EnoUgh genuine talent to mask his ineptitude for 18 months. Anyone not named Steve McClaren or halfway competent will keep them up. I don’t think Hughes is a terrible manager but his time has gone at Stoke. -
Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

Is he an intelligent footballer? -
Yeah, but he’s Rafa Benítez, and you have no professional footballing experience. When Lascelles went off we were loads more vulnerable and you’d have been Captain Hindsight if he hadn’t been in the squad and we’d lost. I’m allowed to have a difference of opinion. If we can’t bat Luton Town without Lascelles In he FA Cup it’s even more imperative that he’s rested. This lad gets injured for 3 months - based on last time - we are relegated. It’s not worth the risk.
