Even with this s*** squad at his disposal, there's absolutely no reason why he keeps persevering with Joselu, Ritchie and Lejeune when it's clear as daylight they're all woefully short of form and need dropping. If he sits on his arse with subs until 70 minutes again that also needs to be questioned. 2 of those - we have no options.
-
The last two being at home is especially bad.
-
Got the same amount of points as Hughton right? Came in 11th, sold Carroll(?), ended 11th. Then the 5th place was part of that strong start. It's after that where he was terrible.
-
First thing Ashton said about Pardew was "they will get a confident manager". Confidence.... in this scenario.... is not a skill.
-
Dean Ashton was on GOS saying he really enjoyed playing for Pardew. He spoke about this attacking football he played. Can't say I paid attention to his Wham side but he was horribly defensive for us and Palace. Pardew was on weeks earlier comparing Ashton's potential to Kane mind.

Bit late for that. Confident we’ll and get relegated mind. A bad run now might be a good thing. Some relegation fret and if Ashley is still here - he’ll be further incentivised to sell or he’ll get some money out to ensure survival. The last thing he wants is to be owner if we are relegated again. Second to last is having to spend money to avoid relegation. Sell up fatty.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

I would love it if Big Sam relegated Everton. Love it. Mind you - he’ll spend £60m in January and get in a decent striking and defensive options on massive wages. Stay up by 4 points and act like he’s some kind of genius. -
Joselu and Murphy combined wages wouldn’t match that of a 10-15 goal striker that can play some. We would also only have Aaron’s as a wide option behind the other 2 and he’s not to be trusted to stay fit. Rafa doesn’t rate Gamez or Mbemba and they would be starting if not for those lads coming in with literally no first team cover on the bench.
-
From an Ashley perspective: We would’ve lost millions in the Championship year. But we needed to invest to get out. Whereas Brighton and Huddersfield would be operating better in the Champo. Now we are up Ashley is penny pinching to make up for the loss of revenue. Where Brighton can spend all o that PL money. Now I suspect our overalll wage bill is higher than them both. There will be Huddersfield players with a 15% increase of a championship wage. Where we’ve got Shelvey, Mbemba, Clark, Diame, Gayle, Mitro, Ritchie et al probably on pretty big wages. Colback as well. There’s probably 150k p/w on players Rafa doesn’t fancy. Colback, Mitro, Mbemba, surely paying some for Saivet, Diame.

Didn't want to be here. Played like it too.
-
Think RLC should be starting for Chelsea but he would’ve been a great signing. We should try to bring him in next summer.
-
Shelvey couldn’t lace Carrick’s boots. Carrick is quick minded both on and off the ball. Positionally excellent he covers for a defence without needing to charge around. Carrick is also better at quick short range passing into feet. He’s not constantly looking for a killer ball but fast, quick and forward balls. Shelvey is nowhere near his level.
-
But he doesn’t make saves. and Nick Pope is above David De Gea. There's a million different variable to that stat. Nick Pope (and Burnley) have been very solid tbf. Forster threw a couple in the net recently too.

Yeh I wanted the add that Barcelona is also generally a tourist location in the way Manchester and Liverpool are not. Watching Barca play must just be something that some people just do when they're in the city as compared to going to Manchester specifically to watch Man Utd. VI - think it's meant to be a compliment.
-
Getting found out at this level imo. He can be a good player in the right conditions but he's too limited physically and mentally to be a guaranteed starter for a PL team that wants to be halfway up the table.
-
Valencia being overly cautious in the first half cost them the game and they were obviously tremendously lucky to go in 0-0 Superb in that second half and really should've put the game to bed. Semendo looks so exciting going forward but he can't defend for toffee.
-
Rodrigo was so exciting for Benfica in the Europa League. That side was tremendous fun. This game was very good. If Zaza had scored at the end there I would've fallen out of my seat.
-
Barcelona look good. This game is fun. Valencia really playing when they get the chance.
-
Stuff like this is what makes PL a better marketing product imo. Goal line technology and better refereeing normally. Was funny though.
-
It literally bounced over the line
-
Clear as day that was a goal. Linesman not in a good position though. They need goal line technology Valencia should've scored on the counter. Would've been hilarious. Goalie got away with one there. Rank keeping

Florian Lejeune (now playing for Rayo Vallecano)

He did drop a fair clanger against Southampton as well like. His performances have shown it wasn't the one-off that we had hoped it would be. -
Gabriel Jesus is 20 as well. That front-trio is going to get even more lethal. Bernardo Silva will replace David Silva one day as well, only 23 years old. Their future is looking so bright. Aye, he's probably even better than both Sane and Sterling IMO, very unlucky to be behind Aguero for the striker position, he'd probably start for any other team in the league. Think Aguero being there is good for him. Relieves the pressure. Pep likes to rotate, Aguero needs to be rotated to play in the Guardiola way without getting injured. Otherwise you're looking at a very young strike force when the team has ambitions to win the CL.
-
Feel the opposite tbh, Sane constantly loses possession when pressured and struggles to create for himself. I like him a lot but technical skill isn't his forte at the moment. For me Sane is a better and more varied finisher. And his final ball is more consistent, that is what I mean by technically better. Sterling gets himself into far better positions and may indeed have a better first touch and ability to squirm into space. He gets into positions to shoot or supply a final ball way more than Sane does. He's always making or looking to make penetrative runs, coming off the wing. Always available for a pass. Often Sane just hangs out wide, not doing anything except being wide (might be instruction), not looking to get into dangerous areas as much. Really think both have another level or two in them which is scary.
