Re transfers: everyone bough in the Champo was meant to get us promoted. The PL is another beast entirely. Lejeune has done nothing to suggest he’s a good signing. Looks a bad one for now imo.

Florian Lejeune (now playing for Rayo Vallecano)

It’s early days but I expected better. -
Rafa’s bought in Gamez, Manquillo and Lazaar. Dummett is better than them fwiw Aye he seems to prefer Joselu over Mitro which is baffling. Likewise Elliot’s seen off a couple competitors which says more about them than it does Rob.

Janmaat on the bench. Totally forgot he existed. -
Would PCP actually be a good owner for NUFC?

Thinking about Everton’s investors. Complete jokers so far. -
If he was defensively so bad Rafa wouldn’t play him. He’s had a fair bit of competition and Rafa has had him as #1

Nigerian future looks bright. Ghana on the other hand.... we had some glory years and won nowt.

this made me chuckle because it’s true. It’s a horrible stadium. Too big.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

Would Rodgers come back to the PL? Worth a shout better than what's being touted. -
His problem is he actually can’t organise a defence - which is why he’s so defensive. I think a big part of his early success with us and Palace was down to taking over teams put together by Hughton and Pulis. This would be his second Pulis team.

Javier Manquillo (now playing for Celta de Vigo)

Aye it was Clark. Lejeune playing him onside. -
Niasse dived and I hope he gets his suspension upheld. We’ll see far less diving or better dives as a result.

History would suggest he’ll do okay for the season. Possibly the next. Then it will all fall down. -

Lerner went from a good owner to worse then Ashley. It can happen. -

Seems like every club in the Birmingham or surrounding areas (West Midlands) has Chinese ownership. I believe the logic here is to buy up the land the football clubs own and have an in on further imvestments in the cities. HS2 on the way, the raw value should increase. Good investments. Also scope to launder money. -

Manquillo rarely prevents crosses coming in. Cross at will. He’s pap. -
Playing upfront in a 2 i'd get one. Tap in. Deflection. Something. Berahino I thought could be a handy player. Maybe still can. one thing I thought he had was real box instinct but that seems to have deserted him.

2 almost relegations. 4th once. And what feels like 7, 7th placed finishes. -

Nah his Everton side were good. Biggest knock is he rarely won against big sides, did he ever beat Liverpool? And no cup finals. For about 7 years he had a competitive side but he never managed a final. Pardew can barely keep a team going for a season and managed it twice. While Moyes was a better manager he's ultimately pointless. -

I'm enjoying Watford atm. They are what a midtable team is supposed to be. A certain carefree feel to their football.
