Blackburn vs Newcastle United, 12/2/11, Pre-match thread.
ujpest doza replied to Stifler's topic in Football
Pardew said in the press conference today that Kuqi 'definitely won't start this weekend'. Nailed on to start then. -
you're only problem with that is the sports bar/season ticket holders - if you move to gallowgate upper there is a high probability most of you will get a section together - which is more desirable than being amongst a fair few people who don't want to sing/start the singing off! The sports bar if canny far away from the leazes corner L4 also the leazes corner level 4 has very few season ticket holders in. Infact its the least in the ground Leazes level 4 is used as ana way fans section when the level 7 isn't open though.

Ah but it's all great news according to some on here. All down to personal circumstances, great for me like!

If i've read that correctly, then a L7 Milburn Family Enclosure Ticket is £345 less a 10% discount for having a championship ST therefore £310.50 plus £15 compulsorary 12th man or is the 12th man thing included already? Still £100 for the bairn which means £410.50 in total and if i sign for 10 years it stays at that. Excellent result considering i was paying £598 for the same seat just for myself 2 years ago.

Draw. We owe these one and generally speaking this season we've always settled scores. -
Hughton to takeover.
-
You are clueless.
-
Get away man, he won the ball fair and square and his momentum made him slide into Diaby. It was a 50:50 ball which was there to be won, he won it it and Diaby bottled it and then lost his rag.

Newcastle United 4 - 4 Arsenal - 05/02/11 - post match reaction from page 32

THIS. We got caught cold by the 2 quick early goals but still had a couple of chances that they somehow kept out that on another day may have fell for us. Arsenal were very very good in the 1st half rather than us being very bad in my john humble. -
I was in floods of tears at old trafford when we beat Sheff United in the FA Cup Semi Final in 1998 like.
-
We actually took a 1 nil lead in that Leicester game and were 3-1 down quite early in the 2nd half iirc and were favourites to win pre match. To be 4 nil down against Arsenal who are currently 2nd in the league when we are under scrutiny and expected to drop like a stone and come back to draw 4-4 and actually be very unlucky not to win is a far greater acheivement imho.

He was the best player on the park today for either side, absolutely outstanding.
-
NO, we need him today, bollocks to say other games are winnable, they're all very hard games.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal - 5/2/2011 - Pre match despair

Nah theyve only stuck 7 past us in their last two games here. The win in the league in 08/09 was the first at SJP since that Bergkamp goal. Their record at SJP isn't great. give over man, they're gonna absolutely hammer us. -

On a serious note, go and see the reserves and kids if you have the chance, it's a good few hours. I've got 2 kids under 8 so i honestly don't have the time or inclination. It's hard enough dragging myself to midweek first team games man! -

i couldn't be arsed to go and watch youth and reserve team games and am basing it on what i've seen at first team level. others who do watch reserves and youth have raved about him which was why i was disapointed when i saw him in the 1st team as i just couldn't see what the fuss was all about. -

So just because you think one player looks out of his depth then they all will? It doesn't work that way although I'm not sure how well he'll do myself, I'll not write him off this early. I'm not writing him off but just think looking good at that level is no barometer particularly as he is much bigger than the other kids in the same way that ranger was bigger physically than the other kids. I've heard loads about him but have been left cold every time i've seen him as he just hasn't lived up to the billing. -

Very good which has no bearing on Vuckic. Yes it does. Ranger looks out of his depth in the PL but good at youth/reserve level which is my point about Vukcic. -

He's looked class for the kids and reserves but injury has hampered him at first team level, that and Hughton not wanting to play kids last season which is my biggest problem with how Hughton managed us. How has Ranger looked at that level? -

I've yet to see anything in Vukcic to suggest this would be a good idea. Fail to see what the fuss is all about. ^^^ Above are examples of the 2 extremes fans hold towards youngsters at this club. Both are ridiculous. How? Reading this forum and others you'd think Vukcic was a wonder kid world beater, yet when i've seen him he's had no impact whatsoever and has looked poor. I know he's only 18, but real wonderkids are playing first team games and stealing the show in them at tha age eg Michael Owen France 98 and Wayne Rooney scoring in the premiership against Everton aged 16. -
Do the local media brown nose the club/Ashley too much?
ujpest doza replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
Neil Farrington used to give Ashley and co stick every week in the Sunday Sun, and was banned for ages because of it. Exactly. I used to go to matches with Martin Hardy before and during his time at The Sunday Sun. He said then that their hands were tied because as soon as they wrote anything critical they got hit with a 6 week ban from the club.
