Blackpool got 49k because we had just twatted Villa for 6 and people expected a repeat. Simple as that really. Quite why anyone would stay in and watch a game because its free is totally beyond me. Thats what pubs are for surely? It was also a Saturday 3PM kick off and Blackpool brought nearly 3 times as many fans as Stoke.

he's not that slow, he's average paced, the problem is with his movement with him not being a natural forward the movement is not instinctive. also he hasn't been helped by the lack of support from the middle (has barton made a move off the ball to get alongside or beyond the forwards yet this season ? has routledge attempted to find that gap between cantre half and full back ?)). Barton got beyond everyone to have a one on one with the Blackpool keeper who saved.

His anonymous performance at Chelsea is testimony to this unfortunately. I also can't understand the clamour for Ameobi either as he has proved time and time again that he is total garbage at this level. Ben Arfa playing centrally and Jonas playing left wing is the way to go at home. And away. I think we need to be more conservative away from home and think Nolan should play away. I actually like Nolan, think he's a good captain and leader on the pitch and is also a good footballer, but his lack of pace is his undoing at this level. I disagree with people saying he is fat and unfit as i don't think he is, he just lacks pace.

Ben Arfa was definately pointing and feeling his left thigh when he came off, dunno about Chick though. Also, ben Arfa is not a left winger, drifts about too much to do that and needs a free role behind or playing off Carroll with jonas on the left to link up with Enrique who was often caught in possession with no one to pass to or making runs for him when Ben Arfa was on the field. Routledge was poor and Perch just looks nervous. We played to their strengths too much instead of keeping it on the floor and passing it around them and running at them which they didn't like when we did that. Carroll was also at fault for Jones goal as well as the header when he hit the bar, lost him both times. The first time Jones hit the post he elbowed Collocinni but the ref and linesman let him get away with it.

Why is everyone stressing and fretting and worrying about how Stoke are gonna play?? Let them worry about us man ffs.

As long as we treat the game properly and give Stoke a bit of respect (ie don't take them lightly) but get after them from the start we'll be okay. If we play like we did in the 1st half against Blackpool and just expect them to roll over then we'll be in trouble.
