He is apparently very confident that he will takeover. Well I wish he'd f***ing hurry up. the thing is fred is always very confident.......confident with abandon at times. His sons mate who used to give excellent inside info on Skunkers reckoned they were very quiet and saying nowt on the subject at the beginning of last week and giving the impression they weren't interested/in the running. He says that has now changed and they are definately in the running and very confident that they are in pole position. My take on this is that they are either the only real bidders and know this, or they know that the other bidders will be completely put off paying the asking price by what they find while doing the due diligence and are just biding their time until Ashley either puts the club into administration or caves in and sells to them at a knock down price.

In white text at the bottom he said "Everyone else seems to have an ITK so i thought i'd make something up as well" ,. It shows the press up for the numptY Know Nowts that they are man if they are trawling football message boards for stories.

Games moved for TV - latest is Nottingham Forest (a)

Bastards. I would have went to that. so would i. so we now have both games in sheffield being bastard awful to get to on public transport. Train home from Sheffield at 22.11 and 22.32 on a night time so it's still doable. -
I'd say only, not especially, if we were winning games. Even then can't see too many over the 40K mark.

Aye heard it alright. Sounds ridiculous. Apparently it goes: "The new owners are based in Hong Kong, not Malaysia. The sale will be announced tomorrow and Gianluca Vialli will be appointed Director of Football. Shearer is expected to be named manager. There will be £30 million made available for transfers. Ashley is selling for £85 million up front with £100 million to be paid in the future in repayment of the loan. Barclays are owed £40 million which has to be paid within two years. Our first signing will be Jermaine Beckford from Leeds - the deal is ready for signing as soon as the sale is completed. Harper is to be made club captain and there are several offers on the table for our players including Martins, Gutierrez, Coloccini and Smith. Source is a mate that works in NUFC's legal department." And in little white text at the bottom it says "I made the whole thing up"

That sounds very close to the truth to me. Last year when they reduced the prices and reclassified parts of the ground so nearly everyone got some sort of refund i had to wait ages for mine (£136 so not to be sniffed at) and went into the ticket office a few times chasing it. The lad in the ticket office said to me then that we had 12K on the 3 year scheme and 35K ST holders in total to sort out which was why it was taking so long. 21K renewals in total including the 3 year people sounds about right imho. Would be amazed if it was 29K prior to any takeover. Ok, that makes the story quite plausable then. If we had 12k on three year deals and we know that a good number have cancelled their direct debits then 11k on automatic renewal makes sense. Need that take over to go through to spur some of you late renewers to get cracking!! I would hate the first home game of the season to be watched by anything less than 40k people! I'll be surprised if we have many gates over 40K mind, especially if we don't get off to a flying start. Gates of around the 30K are optomistic imho.

Whats the age up to? Got a 10 yr old laddy who might want to go with (lasses cousin) It's up to 18. Mines only 6 and she's all excited about the idea of going to the match with me without really having any idea about it at all. She asked me what i thought she should wear and whether she'd need to buy a black and white strip.
-
I bought an extra one for my daughter next to me in what has now become the family enclosure to save myself a hundred quid. If she goes to the first game doesn't like it and never goes again i'm still a hundred quid better off than if i'd not got her one.

I don't think there are any Malaysians. I think the Shepherds are the only serious bidders and Ashley has arranged for Llambias to buzz the training ground in a chopper with an Asian gadgy in tow to make it look like there is another bidder to up the ante on Shepherd.
-
Not on here, but TCD who posts on Skunkers definately lives in the same building as him near Tilleys.
-
They're all working on the assumption that Llambias is telling the truth, does anybody actually believe the lying bastard? My take on it is there have been no bids made, and there are unlikely to be at the price the fat idiot is asking. Yip, which is why FFS is supremely confident of taking over with a bid of £60M plus the OD.
-
I don't think it's as simple as just passing over a brief case of money. It'll be a big brown envelope man.
-
Anyone worth their salt would have gone with the Vialli DoF one tbh The Vialli DoF one was completely made up and said so in white text on the original post.
-
Seeing as they've all signed a non disclosure agreement surely Silence of the Llambias can't actually say anything and should be saying just that?? Unless of course they are no bids of £100M+ and he's just saying that to try to drum up interest and the only real bid they have is the £60M one from the 3 S's.

Funny, you said that Owen did very well getting 7 goals (from open play) in 28 games Martins managed 8 in 24? Yet he's a 'crock of s****'?? Martins spends most of his time running around after the ball trying to get it under control due to his inability to control a simple pass. I have also yet to see this supposed blistering pace having seen him outpaced on countless occasions by opposition defenders. Scores the odd raker now and again but is other wise a very poor footballer.
-
Martins is a crock of shit and if we can get any sort of fee for him we should get rid asap.
-
Would you say he worked his socks off and was the best player in the team for most games? Would you also put him on the same level as Van Basten or Shearer? Yes, Yes and yes.
-
Must have missed his goal against Brazil in the World Cup Quarter Final in 2002 did you? I wish him every success in the world and i do not blame him one bit for what happened in his 4 years with us. He still had a good goals to games record for us and at times last season worked his stots off and was far and away our best player in some games while being constantly starved of service by our s*** awful midfield. why are you bringing that up? One goal doesn't change the fact that he let us down. His record post-1998 is 4 goals in 16 games in the tournaments, pathetic How is 8 goals in 28 games a good goals to games record btw? Seriously When has he ever let us or England down?? Would Shearer, RVN, Andy Cole, Marco van Basten etc etc have scored goals for us last season given the shit service from our crap midfield?? I think Not!

BBC: Freddy Shepherd £60m offer for NUFC likely to be accepted
ujpest doza replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
Shepherd would be terrible. I would much rather take a chance on somebody else. We would be very very unlucky to end up with someone worse than Shepherd again. What if there is no other option? If theres no other option other than to die as a club, of course I would take Freddy back. However, from reports it seems like there ARE other options. We don't know how ambitious they will be though. With Shepherd you know he will set his sights on a return to the Prem and will make the funds available to do it. After Ashley, I'm very nervous about the motives of foreign investors unless they are minted. I would rather see the club safe and well run tbh. With that we will progress on and off the field at the correct pace. If we are well run we will get promoted anyway. Shepherd plunging us into more dept and making a fool of himself holds no attraction to me, especially considering how bad his decision making has proven to be in the past. You can be well run AND ambitious you know. This club can be both considering the potential it has to generate money. I would rather two years in this division sorting ourselves out, than spunking a load of cash we don't have up the wall and Shepherd strutting around making more ridiculous decisions in the Premier League. We would most likely end up back at square one the Shepherd way. How anyone can trust the fat c*** is beyond me. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. Two years "sorting ourselves out" in the Championship is not the way to go for a club this size. We have to show our intent and make sure we are giving ourselves the best chance of blazing back into the Premier and we need an owner with the ambition to go for it. And you think Shepherd is the best man for that, despite his past failure? What past failure??? FFS 16 years spent mainly in the top half of the PL, cup finals, european qualification 13 (i think) times. You don't know your born man. -
Shut up man. One demonstration by the fans left a lasting impression which meant that the players were s**** for 9 months? Hadaway and s**** (or any other solicitors in the North Shields area). The players let US down, we were there singing loud and proud on the last day of the season. The fans turned up, the team unfortunately didn't. Hey moron think in casuality manner because of that Demo the club hire incompetent manger and was on sale for the next 4 month with all the uncertainty. That is a fact and we all lost many important points during that period. Good for you to sang the last day of the season but it won't create a chance and a goal all that screamin. Unfortunaitly for human beings only negative things remaine in ppl minds... Did you use babelfish to translate that?
