For the umpteenth time, the atmosphere in the stands is dictated by what happens on the pitch and any contrived attempts at creating an atmosphere don't work. The singing section was noisy for the first 20 minutes and was then mute until Seamus saved the penalty. If it wasn't for that penalty save they would have stayed mute until we scored.

I beg to differ. The singing section was decent for the first 20 minutes but died a death after that along with our inability to break down the 11 men Bolton had behind the ball. The atmosphere didn't pick up again until Given saved the penalty, and granted a lot of that was the new singing section, BUT backs up what i've always said that events on the pitch dictate the atmosphere in the ground. Good football, dodgy refereeing decisions, mistimed tackles etc make for a good atmopshere. Shit boring negative football with no incidents makes for a poor atmosphere.

No way were there 1100 Bolton fans there today. there were 2 allocated sections but one wasn't full and the other wasn't even a quarter full. if there were more than 400 Bolton fans there they must have stayed downstairs on the concourse and watched the match on the telly.

Thats being generous as well, unless thats what they took and actually sold less. I'd say there were no more than 400 Bolton fans in the ground.

Nope and I have an email from the Box office that says this: "We are aware that those supporters who have already renewed may have paid more than the new prices, if this is the case a refund will be automatically issued during July." I'll wait until this week's fiasco is sorted before chasing this up. I still await my £115 refund too. That's why, although at at the shop you may be able to request 10 KAKA on your Newcastle top (although you'd look like an idiot), if you order ONLINE THROUGH THE OFFICIAL CLUB SHOP who are offering the names and numbers of players, they aren't going to offer 2 COLOCCINI as one of our OFFICIAL PLAYERS TO GET ON THE BACK OF YOUR SHIRT if he didn't play for us. This is why, when you try and order a shirt online, you can't get players who don't play for us. I don't know if you have noticed, but all the players on that list play for us. I hope this clears things up. On the OnlINe Club Shop you can get Keegan 7 and last time i checked no one called Keegan played for us at number 7. You can get whatever you like put on at the club shop as well.

Don't be daft man, you can get any number and any name you like on any football shirt if you're paying for it.

I'm not trying to be funny here but how much of problem is it to replace a forward who hasn't scored a goal and you could probably count the number of shots he's had on one hand and still have fingers to spare? Name a replacement who is available and who would come then. Smith has played a load of games on the right of midfield and in central midfield. He's got his head down and got on with it and never moaned or took the huff. He's never been in the papers for bringing the club into disrepute. He's a good honest pro who desperately needs a goal to give him a lift, you don't become a bad player over night.

They've just trousered £11M for Andy Johnson though.
