Second verse as well, Follow Follow Follow, cos the reds are off to Glasgow And there'll be thousands of Reds without Tickets or beds cos the Reds are off to Glasgow. I've also heard our lot singing Follow Follow Follow cos the mags are off to Glasgow and there'll be thousands of mags and we'll be pissed up and radged cos the mags are off to Glasgow.

When and how? I thought you were taking the piss for a moment - so I checked you age Bangladesh used to be called East Pakistan until it declared indepedance .(check on a map and see how far apart they are) Pakistan invaded ,Bangladesh was poorer then than now and had no standing army .Basically it was a trained army fighting a militia .In Bangladesh it is refered to as the Halocaust and there are monuments and museums dedicated towards it. George Harrison perfomed the first charity concert in aid of Bangladeshi victims of famine (because of this war) I was being flippant before Bangladeshis that I know hate ( and i us the word advisedly ) Pakistanis because of the war,and I know quite a few give me a few minutes and I'll find a reference so you can check this out yourself So do a lot of Indians as well mate, see my earlier post re the Indian Owner of my local shop calling the Paki owners of the local off licence worse than shite, paki twat this. paki twat that etc.

I totally agree with your whole post but regarding the bit in bold, does anyone actually realize that 88% of Britain is still a 'white' Britain? There's only a 12% minority!! Problems with minorities are not as big as many newspapers make it out to be. Some people really need to examine facts before spouting off shit. Those stats are for Britain as a whole which inludes areas that are 100% white and other areas that are a lot less than 100% white. Blackburn incidently is 78% white and 19% Asian. Bradford is 78% white and 18% Asian Liverpool is 94% white and 1% Chinese Hounslow in West London is 65% white and 22% Asian and 3% Black African. You can prove anything with statistics http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/profiles/18.asp

I'd never use the phrase myself. Also, any chant at a football match aimed at the opposing fans is meant to be offensive, so its more than the word 'just'. That is the word that clearly makes the statement judgemental though. "The town centre was full of Brits drinking heavily" is racist too then according to your simplistic moral framework. What framework? Brits, as brummie has pointed out, isnt considered a derogatory or offensive racist word. Paki is, as is nigger or chink. Therefore, calling someone a paki, nigger or chink is racist and offensive to all people of a particular skin tone. "Brits" would have to be understood to be an offensive word for British people in order for the sentance "Youre just a town full of Brits" to be derogatory. Its not. If the sentance was "youre a town full of honkies" sung by a bunch of asians or black hooligans, or something similar, then thats racist. Call us Brits lumps us in with the Welsh, the Scots and the Irish, i'm not having that i'm English not British.
-
So if an English speaking Spanish bar owner says 'All these f***ing Brits bringing the tone down in our lovely coastal town' its not racist? The use of the term "Brits" is not racist, no. The suggestion that one national group is having a detrimental effect on an area is somewhat xenophobic. And as for the chant "you're just a town full of pakis" - do you think that is not meant to be racist? I've already answered the second point earlier in the thread. Yes, the use of the word 'just' makes it racist. Your first point seems, to me, to contradict what you are saying though. So "youre a town full of pakis" isnt racist to you? Absolute rubbish. I suggest that at our games from now on we start chants such as "You're just a town full of wonderful people" or "You're great and you know you are" in order to conform to todays political correctness and to try not to wind up or offend the opposition fans.
-
The chant (that i don't personally indulge in ) is just an attempt to wind up the oppo. As long people get wound up about other people will continue to do it. Ignore it and don't show that it is causing offence and it defeats the object of them doing it in the first place. The (Indian) owner of my local newsagent quite happily uses the term "fucking Paki Bastards" to describe the owner of the off licence around the corner and quite openly hates them. Couldn't really give a shit myself, as long they are hard working, law abiding and aren't blowing up tube trains, buses and airplanes i don't care whether someone is black, white, brown, pink or yellow.
-
You are taking things too seriously imo. Every club/town has a stereotype that is exploited in football chants to get a rise out of the opposition supporters. For example :- Blackburn/Bolton/Leicester/Luton : High Asian population therefore Town full of Pakis/Wheres your Taliban chants. Liverpool/Everton : Seen as thieving scroungers therefore You nicked my car stereo and Feed the Scousers chants Newcastle/Sunderland : Seen also as poor so Feed the Geordies chants Yorkshire, Bristol, Plymouth and Welsh Teams : Sheep Shaggers Boro : Child molster chants and Chemical Chants etc. It goes on and has done for years, get over it.
-
If he is the only fit right back available then he has to play imo. Don't rate him but would prefer round pegs in round holes coupled with experience rather than throwing Huntington in at right back against Robben.

I notice a nazza06 comment there, in the train video, who signed up here today. Idiot. actually when i first saw the video i saw it as jsut a bit of harmless banter between the newcastle and frankfurt fans, i didn't know anything about racism going on. Fair play, mate. I did mean idiot in an "eejit" type of sense, wasn't being serious. How could he not know there was any racism involved when his comment was singing the Kebab song? I don't see how that was a harmless bit of banter singling out one bloke because he was Turkish. Why wasn't there a song about a bratwurst shop?? The guy didn't look bothered atall and i saw it in the same light i do when people call me "haggis" or mention "skirts" to me (meaning kilts) because I'm from Scotland. I see the light hearted side of things like this and so without knowing about the attack on the Turkish bloke in the stadium I wasn't aware that the chanting was meant in a racist way. Hope you can understand where i'm coming from. The scuffle in the stadium was not a Turk getting attacked but a German who had been hurling abuse and baiting the away fans for the majority of the first half until eventually a handful snapped and had a go back at him.

Charlie Zogs got to be up there somewhere in that list like, subtle but fairly dirty imo

Spurs support is fucking shit and always has been. They had 1100 up here in 2004 when they beat us 1-0 in one of Robsons last games in charge. They never ever take the 3000 offered for league games. Prices for league games at St James's Park range up to £75.00 for ALL home games regardless of opposition so fuck right off you pair of cockney cunts with your £71 blah blah category A match shite.

1. Dyer is back in full training this morning 2. Milner did not cross the ball for the 1st goal the other night Solano did. 3. Our full backs were afforded little or no cover from either winger on wednesday night.

Spot on mate.

boring. you have too much time. he's right though, surely you can see that??? what i saw was taylor having a decent solid game, which he has most games. babayaro had another terrible game which happens often. last night?? we watched different games he won almost every header he had to and covered for ramage many times. if he wasnt there it would have been a hell of a lot worse. Bollocks, Ramage and Solano got Taylor and babayaro out of the shit more times than enough. Taylors little trick of pulling forwards down when they are running down the channels near the 18 yard line was in much evidence again last night anarl. Rose tinted specs because he's a local lad and not a foreigner with a funny sounding name.
-
PMSL It beggars belief how rose tinted our fans spectacles are when it comes to Superstar Taylor Future captain of England. Taylor gave away stupid free kicks near the 18 yard line, fucked up and was dispossessed when trying to shepherd the ball out for a corner and sold Given woefully short with at least 3 back passes. Taylor made as many ricks as Babayaro did last night and in every other game he plays in but because he is local lad he gets away with it. He boils my piss more than any of our other defenders.

Do you not want to see your team win a trophy? Beggars belief that someone supporting a team who haven't won a domestic trophy for 51 years should advocate playing a weakened team in the latter stages of a domestic cup competition against one of the best teams in the country. We beat the twats at home in the league last season, knocked them out of the FA Cup the season before so why should we give up before a ball is kicked??
-
On tonights performance i'd drop Milner. gave away possession a lot and never really beat his man or got a cross in all night.

Anybody figured out why Sibierski's 2nd goal was disallowed?
ujpest doza replied to a topic in Football
Wasn't offside and linesmans flag never went up. Watching it again i can't see anything wrong, except earlyish in the move Emre seems to muscle his way through 2 players to get to the ball to play in Sibierski. Tenuous, but it wouldn't surprise me if the referee was just evening up the penalty that was very very dubious.
