  1. to play the way the majority think we ought to play ie 1 up front with support from behind, we have a proven goalscorer . (need another in incase of injury and for more options though). This seemed inevitable with the release clause being what it is: made worse that we didn't strengthen in the summer and highlighted our lack of ambition. Chelsea is a much better proposition for any player (I'm sad to say this but it is true) who wants to have a shot at winning something. My concern now is that other of our top players want to move on to perceived better opportunities. I for one would have continued with Ba on the right and Cisse up front. Instead of making the player happy, he just placed himself in the shop window and left our future stuck out wide.
  2. Why do I have a feeling that we will struggle on 1 striker short and sign Carroll in the Summer?
  3. If we sign Debuchy, Remy & Douglas with the cash. Cant help thinking $Ash already knows Ba is off, so the other signings no more than money in - money out situation.
  4. Well with Tiote going to the ACoN he''ll get his chance. I think he'll do a decent job. Honestly, the way Tiote has been playing I wouldn't be too fussed if we cashed in.
  5. "the f***"? So you're happy to admit that your hypothesis is potentially squillions out and might have no bearing on reality whatsoever but you're prepared to use it as a stick to beat Ashley with nonetheless, plus you'd have been quite happy to end up with just Colo and one good centre half with Taylor as the only backup, putting us back in a situation where one or two injuries means a totally makeshift central defence? Doesn't sound like a great way to display ambition and build up the squad to me. You bet it's a worthless road to go down - you haven't really made any sense whatsoever. If you're that happy to rely on 'kids coming through' then there's no problem is there? Real weirdness from all angles from you there why am i biting but run a poll to ask if people would be happy with colo, douglas, saylor and perch (4th choice) as your CB pairings at the start of this season and i think you'd have a resounding yes mate never said the prices were accurate and in fact it doesn't matter hence why you're clinging onto it...i could have been 10m in my estimations, it still needed to happen Well, that ambition-at-any-cost mentality is where we differ I suppose - and obviously where you and a lot of supporters differ from Ashley. That's fine - you think the correct thing to do is just lob more money at it no matter what, and I think that's a daft thing to do even if it means you have a shitty transfer window here and there. No problem, Freddie. you're off your napper man Relegation costs much more tollemache, surely you can see that? What was it they reckoned, 50 million or somewhere in that region? also, the thought that 10m would be too much to all but ensure a top class defence for the next 3 years Yup, when you look at the revenues coming in and what could be potentially lost, 10 m is a drop in the bucket.

Not being relegated hardly counts as ambition at no cost either.
  7. Oh man, could this go through...... please please let it be true. Now a CB... Douglas will do.
  8. But doesn't that make things grow, or is that only horse s**t?

    Alan Pardew

He hasn't got a clue what will happen regarding transfers. I think it all rests on how much MA drinks New Year's Eve. Or wins on the roulette table.... Or loses TBF.

    Loïc Remy

I agree. CB is the vital at this point. Imagine a £10m cb coming in? No doubt a double broken leg in his debut. Maybe 2 at 5 a pop. Ha, ha. Id love a RB and then see the end of Simpson.
  11. So much for that then. Win trophies.... :) Run away Nicolas, run away!

Baddabing. This is why I dont expect anyone, because the philosophy is that without injuries we would be fine, as if they shouldnt happen.
  14. Arse flannel. Just about sums it up.
  15. You are right they are mostly back-ups that should not be near the first team of one of the best supported clubs in the country. The lack of investment is and has been atrocious.
  16. If we sign a couple of defenders we will be OK. But I have no confidence we will actually do this.... the mindset is that we have all that injured talent not contributing and "taking" revenue.
  17. Yup, speculate while you have the chance and we did nothing. I'm sure the top players have realised this and want out.
  18. This pretty much happened to Stoke last year, made the Waffa then didnt spend at all. well done dekka and mike for royally f**king it up yet again.
  19. Simpson was diabolical today...... I pray for Debeuchy, he cant be any worse than that. Him and Douglas.... come on Ashley you tight c**t.
  20. Utter nonsense. This is a good a reason as any for Ashley to invest in some competent defenders. Its been the same for the last 2 season, the guy is a complete w**ker who will not spend.... just wants to keep us in the Prem and takes a chance on us going down. So long as we are 1 place above the drop that will be fine by Cashley.
  21. Of course he does. How does he get away with his actions: other managers get banned for 3 games for much less yet he carries on unhindered.
  22. I'm hopeful. Shame its taken us 1/2 the season to actually start playing, but I guess better late than never.
  23. I don't really moan that our fans are an embarrassment. I accept that a lot of them are, but just ask that you respect that a lot of them are not. A lot of Newcastle fans are an embarrassment too, we just have less glory hunters. Wouldnt we have to have some glory to have ANY glory hunters. I was -6 months the last time we won owt.
  24. Odious set of c**ts. Just wait till they go for 50 years without a trophy and lets see how many people are at "the theatre of dreams"
