You do realize I'm not talking about the fact that it's Neymar? It's more about the match, the fact that Chapecoense were invited to play after their plane crash where 71 people lost their lives and some of the Barcelona fans apparently thought it was a good idea to sing about wishing a player to die in that moment. At not getting the Simpsons joke, not the post. Don't watch Simpsons, how am I supposed to get the joke ffs.

Simpsons is overrated.

Hopefully they're actually singing something else. Can't really believe anyone would sing something like that considering the match they were watching.
-
If this really happened then in this past week they've been showing that he's actually made a step in the right direction in his career.
-
Shameful behaviour. Even Busquets scored ffs.

Does Barcelona have a legal case to refuse to pay that? Feels weird and dumb as fuck to have put that clause for 30th of July.
-
What a great move that would be for him.

I'm going with City this year. They've made some shrewd signings and a whole fit and adapted season of Sane and Jesus will win them the title. For Chelsea it all depends on if whoever plays up top for them does it as well as Costa did (even if it's Diego himself).

What a freaking goal by Toulouse against Monaco. Ridiculous corner.
-
Definitely see that as a very sensible signing. Need to after Coutinho/Hazard/Dembele now. Someone on that LF is a must. Watching Neymar's press conference now. Always felt like PSG president came across well, but coming across really badly in this press conference.

TBH, he probably can't. Messi is 30 and still killing it. When would Neymar take over? He would never take over precisely because Messi is ten times the player that petulant crybaby will ever be anyway. No one is every going to take over from Messi unless he dies. Man is an alien. Exactly, why Neymar's move makes sense. In order to enhance his legacy and standing as an all time footballer, hes joining a club where he's going to play a handful of meaningful games a season? Not having that like. If he was joining Madrid or Man City/Utd perhaps. Sorry, but in the end in European football now, only winning the PL means something other than the Champions League. So yes, in order to enhance his legacy he wants to win the CL with PSG. Also, winning either the CL with PSG or the World Cup is going to make him the best in the world, so he has basically 'doubled' his chance of winning it. How exactly will that make him the best in the world, when Messi (and Ronaldo) are still tearing up both La Liga and the CL? Messi hasn't won the CL in a couple of seasons now and he's still the best in the world like. I posted above what I meant (last page) meant in terms of winning the Ballon D'Or and not actually being the best as that is Messi and is going to be Messi for a few more years at least.

A football career is pretty short to be fair. f*** off, for goodness sake. Can't believe you swallow that crap. Don't think he was being serious tbf.

Not talking about being the best player on the earth, should've made that clearer. Messi is the best player, but yet CRonaldo has won those titles multiple times.

Winning the world cup or champions league isn't going to make him better than Messi. People will forget about Neymar now because we won't hear his name for weeks on end because there's no champions league football on. He's made a shocking decision, footballing wise, there's no two ways about it. It definitely won't, but individual prizes aren't given to the best player in the world, but to the one who has had the best individual season. Also, same way everyone forgot about Ibra? Am I the only one defending him? I just see both sides of the argument, something some are either unable to or don't want to because they dislike the player. I understand the idea of this being a step down, it's a huge risk footballing wise being taken by him in moving to PSG. But people are suggesting he should've moved to Man United or City as if they actually made an offer or had the money to pay his release clause. The whole transfer is shambles, and sets quite a dangerous precedent for future transfers with the way it was paid for, but it really doesn't take away the fact (at least IMO, you can have yours) that it might be end up being a very good move for him. He's playing in a squad full of stars such as Cavani, Dani Alves, Di Maria, Verratti and isn't exactly moving to China or the Moon. The French League is like many have pointed out not great, and winning it or the French Cup won't do shit for his legacy or whatever, but surely winning the CL with PSG would be an incredible achievement right?

Yeah - I do. I love football but the money in the game is ruining the sport. People want to see the best players stay in the best leagues. In France it's not like the Premiership where all the clubs are benefiting from an insane TV deal, thereby all getting stronger. You have just one team that is being backed up by Sovereign Wealth which no one can compete with. Ibrahimović had more of an impact on footballing world playing the one season in England than he did in all the four seasons in France. People all over the world stood up and remembered how great a player he was. Absolutely not true regarding Ibra. Suggesting people remembered how great of a player he was only after having joined Manchester United is ridiculous.
-
What were you expecting, them to burn a third of their budget on Neymar?
-
True. I'd be completely indifferent had it not been a Brazilian player involved. I just think he's not really going to China or something. He's not throwing his career away, it's a step down from Barcelona, but any club would be tbh. I think it's an extremely interesting move, it's a move that could make or break it for him in his career and how it is viewed in the future.
-
Well doesn't need and doesn't want is two different things. Dave, what I've been saying for the past few days which you have disagreed, and absolutely fair enough if you disagree, is that it's NOT ALL about the money. I don't think money plays the biggest role in his decision. But don't start trying to change words to ridicule others opinion just because others didn't agree with you. You said it's ALL about the money, I didn't say it's NOT about the money. I'll respect your opinion, but to start quoting half sentences and taking words out of context is childish.
-
Ridiculous Way to be selective. At no point have I said that money isn't a part of the decision, you are the one who keeps posting it's ALL about the money. Extremely obnoxious.
-
I don't get the mentality where people want all the best players in the same club. I understand thinking it's a backward move for him, but that just makes it more of a challenge. He has a huge challenge now to prove this move was the right one. People thinking it's all about the money are probably unaware that at the age of 25 he's already the third richest footballer with contracts with the biggest brands in the world. He doesn't need more money and I don't see the money having affected his decision more than it affects any other players decision to change clubs at different times.
