I don't really see how we need him other than off the bench? And why would we over-pay for someone to sit on our bench? I mean I'm all for depth, but Townsend at £14m is absolutely ridiculous. Rather give Thauvin a chance and put that money into improving at LB and getting someone like Berahino. We aren't going to sign a new left back though. And personally I think it would help Dummett if Townsend were to be playing down that side ahead of him. Our squad lacks a pacey, direct, out and out winger. Aarons and arguably Thauvin could become that player, but they are sure as hell not ready to be counted on from what we've seen and read so far. Who do we have vying for the Left Wing spot at the moment? Perez (a central player), Gini (Better in the centre), Thauvin and Aarons. None of those options are good enough for me, and I'm talking about having a proper impact this season, not for the long term future. Yeah. Too often this season, Dummett's not had good options in front of him when he's on the ball, and he's ended up punting a diagonal ball across to a striker, cutting out the midfield. It's all very well for people to say he should be more enterprising, but if he's isolated and loses it, then we're in trouble. He has punted it 99% of the time when he's had someone next to him to pass it as well. Dummett is just not talented enough as a footballer so don't really think you can blame anyone else for his absolute inability to pass a decent ball or make a cross. Townsend won't really help him at all offensively, he'll still struggle because he's just not good enough at that aspect of the game. Only himself could improve that. It's not as simple as that. It was noticeable on Saturday that, with the team attacking with more confidence as a whole, Dummett felt able to get forward more often and to good effect. Townsend will be an additional help in that process of removing the shackles. Dummett's okay. It's tough for a young defender to find their feet in the Premiership, and I think there's more to come from him. Well, I don't agree, but let's leave it a that.

f*** off football forever if this happens tbh. Hasn't been able to strike the ball more than 5mph tonight. Mental how he lasted the full 90. Saw Watford play earlier in the season and Jurado looked good so surprised to see he had such a bad game last night according to people on here. Anyone who has seen them play regularly who knows if he's had a good season or not? He was pointed out off Carra after the game that he has no goals or assists this season. I've not seen much of him but he was awful last night, really bad. Didn't know that actually. Thought he had scored a few.

The third best rated player in the world, only behind Messi and Ronaldo, is underrated! Suuuurrrrrreeee. 2nd. Suarez is third. There's no doubt in my mind that Neymar has outperformed all Real players as well as Suarez this season. He was the man while Messi was out, and today again he played better when Messi was subbed off. Suarez is scoring goals in ridiculous amounts however, that trio is just unstoppable.

Neymar taking the piss there 2 assists and 1 goal puts him a top both the assist and scoring league in La Liga.

I edited mine before you posted though.

Bilbao keeper sent off 5 minutes into the game

In the space of 5 days you'll have gotten 4points from what should've been 0points. 4 points from what should have been 1 point. You in no way deserved to beat us. A draw was fair. Tbf no one deserved a point from that game despite the six goals

Lazy according to a fair few... Wait who has said that?

Has for me been one of the worst performers this season, but he's had two decent performances in a row and really hope he can keep it up as he's vital for us to stay up.

He absolutely was in the first half. His first half was excellent. So composed and made key passes for both our goals. Thought he dropped a bit in performance in the 2nd half, and I was sick of hearing the fans scream shoot as it really pushed him to shoot on one or two occasions when it really wasn't needed.

Almost 8 hours  It's insane.

Such an excellent footballer, really really has to impose himself more often like he did today. Was all over.

He did, but not going to judge him based on today. Did well enough.
