Will be interesting to see their 5-3-2/3-5-2 that van Gaal seems to be stucking with. I detested van Gaal and will probably start hating him again, but he showed a much more likeable side of himself during the World Cup and I'd love if that stayed with him.

I agree with most of that tbf. The one thing that will annoy though, is if we do shift MYM we'll end (could) up buying or loaning someone not as good, probably on the same money. Which makes it daft to loan or sell MYM in the first place. All our defenders have that problem though, it's just MYM isn't a Pard favourite and he can't get it out his head that he's somehow a RB? If/when we offload him I fully expect us to get another tall CB clogger which is a shame. Aye, we do need a clogger type though, prefer the term no nonsense myself But to play alongside MYM, not to replace him. It's quite clear as a day as well. No idea how that Douglas guy was and how he's doing but he was the type of player that we seemingly needed alongside MYM.

Mbiwa is the last defender we should be looking to off-load. Actually we should be looking to build a partnership with him and a new physical defender that does what Williamson does well + ability to pass the god damn ball like a normal person.

Has to be though. Not that I in any way like stats as a measure of performance, but just looking at our results with MYM centrally it's a joke he played on the right for most parts last season.

Aye, I somehow thought it was four PL games (+ that cup game), but he played RB/LB against Norwich and was benched against WBrom.

There seems to be a few players who fall into that category eg Abeid, Bigi, MYM, where the belief seems to be that they'd become better players under a better manager. As I say, that seems to be based on hope rather than any evidence on the field. And here we have one who clearly didn't see one of our best runs last season when MYM and Williamson played together. They played together for the wins against a totally non-scoring AVB Spurs and Chelsea if memory serves. Not sure I'd call 2 games a 'run'. Always thought it was four games, but you're right tbf.
