That's one of the weirdest arguments I've seen for suggesting someone is wasting talents. His past track record has nothing to do with his current track record with Belgium. Finishing third with Belgium was very successful, just ask the country and the parades they had welcoming them back. Won 25 and drew 3 out of 28 qualifier matches as well. Beating both Brazil and Portugal in the knock-out stages.
-
And my point is, we are even further away.
-
That’s true, but they finished third at the WC losing to the Champions in the semis and in the Euros the same. Think he’s done a decent job for them, but clearly should’ve gone different direction after the Euros. But his results for them have been good.
-
Would people really call it wasting given that he took them to their best results in a World Cup ever and their best result in 30 years in the Euros?
-
I'd say AC Milan, one of the most classic clubs in world football with new owners is also quite a project. I think we'll see plenty of players turning us down until we get into a Champions League spot.
-
It's funny how opinions change. Not you personally, but most players get absolutely vilified for choosing money over anything else in here, however, when it comes to us money should be a priority for players all of the sudden.
-
Think he's been quite poor everytime I've seen him. How was he prior to joining Spurs?
-
None of these team looking good for the World Cup. Spain has a decent team, but lack the individual quality and Portugal is the opposite. Portugal needs to sack Fernando Santos. He's wasting that side.
-
Fantastic pre-season opponents. Finally!
-
I hope Paqueta wouldn't come here to compete with our wingers for playing time.
-
Those three and then focus on quality right winger and central midfielder and I'd be a very happy guy.
-
Was thinking we should sign him actually. Only 25 and can play multiple positions.
-
@neesy111 look, Argentina has won the World Cup.
-
Argentina takes everything so seriously. They'll be dangerous at the World Cup. They're like a shittier Brazil. Well organized with a few quality offensive players that can make the difference on any night. However, to be honest, Italia have been terrible.
-
Donnarumma absolutely terrible for that goal, but Martinez took the piss out of Bonucci there. Looks a proper player Lautaro Martinez.
-
I mean, I would've watched it, just like I'll watch the friendly against South Korea tomorrow. But it's still a friendly, and Argentina will make it like they've won another major international trophy if they win it.
-
Italy v Argentina in this made up Finalissima shit. Argentina going to take it very seriously though as they have a long streak since their last lost. Hope Italy does them. Scotland v Ukraine is also going to be interesting. Both teams as average as Wales. Going to be tight.
-
Trippier has to be the captain for next season. No doubt in my mind.
-
He is that good tbf. Anyone that has watched Liverpool consistently since he's arrived can't say anything other than he looks the real deal. A lot of people were slating Thiago as well for a few poor games in the beginning. Diaz has been a bit inconsistent towards the end here, just like the rest of the team, but he's shown that he's an excellent footballer and Liverpool seem to have found a perfect player to take over from Sadio Mané (despite Mané being excellent for the last few months).
-
It seems like many might not be match goers according to you and therefore their opinions are wrong. Yet, you can come with opinions about someone you've clearly not watched enough, evident by that statement alone.
-
It is. But despite all the making fun of Liverpool because they lost the two major titles, people have to acknowledge that their season has been unbelievable. Will be interesting to see how they do the next 1-2 years. After all, they've managed to replace players in all major positions, but their two most prominent players for the past few years are possibly gone next year or so. How will they replace both of them? Or will they do everything now to keep Salah?
-
I mean it might've coincided with great form in the fall, but for the past 5-6 games for the national side it's been him and Raphinha as the two main star. Paqueta is as long as he doesn't fall off a cliff a starter and one of the main stars for Brazil playing behind Neymar and interchanging as he moves up top and Neymar comes and picks the ball up deep with Vini and Raphinha out wide. In a 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 position.
-
Am I missing something? Paqueta is more valuable than Bruno .
-
Paqueta won't ever be available for around £30m. That being said, while I do agree with the sentiment that a few other positions needs to be filled first, I do think a central midfielder, either an offensive or defensive one depending on how we want Bruno to play, has to be a priority after RW and LB in my opinion. I know we have ''depth'' there. But an injury to Bruno and that is a relegation battling midfield.
