Depends, at their peak and potential R9 is the only one remotely close to Messi (Ronaldinho was perhaps more entertaining but Messi and R9 had it all). However, Cristiano's longevity is ridiculous and he's an absolute machine still so I can agree with both sides.

He didn't leave his man at all, I've looked through the images and he lost track of Cancelo on a very good cross/pass from Gundo. ASM doesn't react to it as quickly, but he tries to get back to it. Absolute bollocks that he just left his man for a free header. That's a good goal, end of story. You could also say Burns positioning is very bad and he should've been there to beat Sterling that is about half his size for a header, which wouldn't be entirely true either would it?

You are making much more of it than what it actually was for the goal. You might as well complain of Longstaff allowing Gundo to play that ball, or Burn for being 10 feet tall and not getting to the air. It was just a very nice goal from Man City.

ASM isn't immune to criticism, but he's quite clearly one of the least of our worries. Or are people going to tell me they'd rather start Almiron, Murphy, Fraser, Ritchie over him? We haven't seen what kind of damage his talent can do in a proper team.

No brainer. Should be going all in for both in terms of salary and contract length. Both would improve us so much I'd imagine us becoming a top 7 side next season already. And for £60m we could afford another 1 or 2 quality players as well.

I agree with what you are saying, but Rodrygo always looks more dangerous when on the left, hence why he has been quite successful in the CL when he actually gets to play there. If you look at Vini he has 18 goals and 19 assists, Rodrygo has 8 goals and 9 assists but Vini has played twice the amount of minutes and only in his preferred position. So there is an argument to be had and it's not as black and white as you're making it look. Either way, I'm happy Ancelotti has put that much faith into both as both are starting to develop nicely. Although, obviously, if Mbappé signs for Real it might hinder both development.

Rodrygo is good at absolutely everything you want from a footballer. He's just not excellent at anything. I do think he's a more consistent player than Vini and I do wonder how he would do with a run on the left wing which is his preferred position. There's a reason as to why Klopp was rumoured to be interested in buying him a few months back, now they ended up with Diaz who is a better player at the moment.
