And this time, can he not just fuckin run the club and try and sell it in the background, like every other club does. Imagine how much of a disaster it would be if we had another summer like last one in limbo, but this time stepping up a level.
-
If we don't get in a goalscorer I can see both Forest and West Brom getting past us. We will lose too many points in shitty draws, just like the Derby and the second half of the Sheff Wed game. £2-3 million is nothing if we can get a goalscorer in, even if its just for this season. Worry about next season in the summer if we go up. But knowing this club, we will offer Harewood a 4 year deal at £30k a week or something. Another thing, I can't believe our scouting has been so limited to about 3 players. If we don't get Beckford, we go in for Harewood. FFS! Its like last January when we were paying Wise a million a year to discover unknown gems like Nolan and Taylor.

We need a goalscorer to keep us at the top. 2mil isn't too much to pay considering promotion is worth about 40mil or whatever. Its hardly even a gamble in my eyes, even if its only for 4 months.
-
We are practically related as mine is the 17th of September. So is mine!!! And Damon Hills. Anyway, looking forward to this. Love the cup.
-
Hows that? We have a chance if we beat Plymouth. Away draw against the best team in our division appart from us. As well as being boring, its a hard tie.
-
Shite draw.

What if Colo and Enrique got injured at home to Plymouth in the next round? It could happen, and it'd be a needless risk finding out. It'd be an utterly pointless waste of two of our most important players. Aye we can compete in two competitions but i'd rather be 100% healthy for the league, than 90%/10% healthy with the cup thrown in there as a needless distraction. We've hardly got a particularly fit squad anyway. I honestly see absolutely no gain from going for it in the cup, that's all i'm saying. Morale boost? Nah... we're top as it is and i'd like to keep it that way. And next year if we're in a relegation battle?
-
Teams with strength in depth always do well in the league, we dont have that. Oh wait.....
-
Its not just to do with pride. A good run lifts the place as well, and injuries are just as likely in the league. These games are played on free Saturdays. We will be in the same position next year if we're fighting relegation. We were in the same position last year. Do we never try unless we're in a safe midtable position?
-
Why don't we go and play in league 2 where we would never get beat then? How about moving to the SPL? We are Newcastle United, not fuckin Wigan. We should play competitions and attempt to win them. Even if we don't we should give it a good go. Id rather that than just existing like some of the pathetic clubs who's sole aim is to survive in the Prem.
-
Exactly
-
How so? We don't need the distraction, league is priority, we don't have the squad to cope with the injuries we'll obviously pick up. And next year will probably be exactly the same when we're battling relegation. You could make the excuse to play a weak team every season. Fuck giving up. We arent a nothing club like Bolton or Wigan.
-
Are you taking the piss? Snodgrass is decent, but League 1 is his level. I saw him play for Livingston a few years back. Was OK back then too.
-
How so?
-
Hoping for a mackems. Other than that someone shit so we can get a good cup run going.
-
Boyd looked shit today, just as he always does against Celtic and other half decent teams. Beckford please.
-
This. Always found his interviews very intresting. He talks a good game, much like Craig Bellamy. Bellamy also plays a good game too. Class player.
-
Hes a quality footballer when he gets a run of games though. I would go as far as saying our most talented player.
-
No. This interview what you mean was in December 2008. His Liverpool street fight was in 07. btw here's the interview of today to listen to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8399000/8399845.stm Ah right. Fair enough. Just seems like a long time ago that interview.
-
As much as I like him as a player, we have yet to see him mend his ways. Hes talking like he's all sorted and a changed man. He's talked like that before and still went on to do stupid things. As far as I remember, his interview with Gabby Logan was before he was fighting in the streets of Liverpool.
-
He was shocking on Saturday. The worst performance in a toon shirt since Geremi's at Scunthorpe. It was like a throw back to last season when our midfield might as well not have been there. Everyone resorts to long balls because Butt is so shocking when we have the ball its unbelievable. The stats for us with but playing, then without Butt playing are very interesting.
-
I thought it was stupid giving them the day off for Xmas. It should have been the same as any other pre-match preperation. We didn't look anywhere near as sharp as usual.
-
Anyone know the price of kids tickets in the Level 7 corner, or is it just 20 quid for everyone?
-
Like going to old grounds, but no way should that shithole get anywhere near World Cup games. The accesses to the stand were narrow and dangerous, never mind the lack of room under the stand.
-
Butt was truely shocking. Whenever he plays we resort to more long balls because the centre of midfield goes missing. We got relegated because of our shite CM last season, how people in the media and Hughton can't see this annoys me. He's a terrible footballer living on past reputation.
