    Whats your place? Link?
  5. I would take Strachan. I actually wanted him after Shepherd sacked Robson.
  6. Nolan was shocking in that position on Sunday against a far worse team than West Brom. I would rather see Ranger up top alongside Carroll. If not then Smith.

    A bus to Dundee

I think a 5 hour bus trip is a bit of a joke tbh. They would be leaving about 8am and probably not getting home until 10-11pm. Its a bit pointless when you can get the plane. Hardly ideal preparation for a game, and then probably makes everyone fucked for their first training session on the Monday morning. I think some peoples over reations is a bit pathetic really. Some people would probably only be happy if the players were getting the cane an hour before West Brom, no matter its effect on the players or our chances. I would prefere to look at it in terms of Mike Ashley being a tight fisted cunt tbh. He takes most blame for relegation for me.
  8. Enjoyed the day. I thought Barton was by far our best player and a cut above anything on the park. Whereas I was wanting him out at the end of last season, I've really changed my mind now. He has stuck in and worked hard. On the pitch anyway he has shown a great attitude in pre-season. Just thought I would ask what everyone who was there thought of Danny Swanson, their number 14, the lad who missed the penalty. They bought him from Berwick Rangers a year and a half ago and being a Berwick fan I was obviously looking out for his performance. Just wondering what others thought who maybee weren't watching out for him. What a shithole Dundee was though. Around the station was probably the most depressing place I've been to in a long time.

  11. For me the Feynoord game, but as this thread will prove there were so many great memories. Certainly a brilliant period to be a Newcastle fan. Dabizas 1-0 another highlight.

The vast majority of Iran doesn't hate westerners by the way. Their government might.

    Keegan or Shearer

I would prefere us to go for someone totally different with a good track record behind them. Its like asking a Liverpool fan if they want Dalgleish or Fowler as manager. For crist sake, look beyond the obvious. The sooner new people can start making names for themselves at this club the better. If it was a straight choice though, Shearer.

That Sun article sounds bollocks from start to end. I fully expect to be told we've all had our hopes dashed and been fooled when this 'bid' turns out to be a joke though.
  16. 4 cash turnstyles in the whole ground.
  17. Still waitin to get in. What a fuckin farce!

    The Loyal Players

That said, I can see him being one of our better players this coming season. Probably true. If we had a manager who could have us organised into something other than a mess, alot of our s*** from last season would probably be quality in this league. The fact that Bristol City fans are creaming themselves over signing Paul Hartley says it all to me. There is some real s**** in this league. Of the players who are leaving, most of them are our better athletes, what we will be left with is the players who are shot, knackered or just plain s***. This is the same problem as last season, I just don't believe with those players leaving we will be fit or fast enough to challenge at the top of the Championship. It might be a lower level, but the better managers build younger, hungrier sides even at this level. One or two Nicky Butts is good, a team full of them will be over-run and sent packing. You're probably correct to be fair. Im hoping some of our younger players will step up to the mark, but its probably too soon for most of them. We really needed to bring in a few younger hungry players over the summer. Actually, weve needed to do that for years, but shit like Nolan and Taylor come in instead.

    The Loyal Players

Alan Smith isnt loyal. He left the team he supports to join their biggest rivals. If he was still decent he would be wanting out, no doubt about it.
  21. Anyone else expecting bother from Leeds fans? They have 2000 tickets sold plus pay at the gate seats. I remember when they had a friendly against Hibs 3 or 4 years ago. I was in Edinburgh before a Berwick game and the Leeds fans were rampaging through the city causing bother everywhere. Hibs fans werent much better mind.

Why are people slavering on about divine right. It means nothing. I've never heard anyone ever say their club has a divine right to anything. Its a bollocks term used by haters to put down fans of other clubs.

What are we, the 20th largest city in Britain? Hardly one of the largest I think you know as well as I that city boundries don't mean much here. Im sure the Tyneside conerbation has a population of around 800'000.

Not Totally We have until the end of august for transfers so if we're sold in the next 2 weeks we may still be able to offload some s**** and buy some fresh blood. Not ideal as it'll be scraping around for the dregs tbh. Its a long season and there have been clubs whove had terrible starts and ended up near the top. Were Palace not in the relegation zone at christmas one year recently and ended up in the playoffs. However, the longer this goes on the worse chance we have. Stating the obvious though I suppose.
