We can't replace him. Nobody in their right mind of any quality would join us in this state. Shit board, shit manager, best players leaving. Hardly an attractive option for any player.
-
So our best striker is on the way, our best keeper is on his way, and rumours are that our best midfielder is also about to leave. Anyone want Bassong or Collocini. Might as well get rid of anyone with any kind of quality. I look forward to the Harper, Taylor, Butt, Ferguson, Ameobi show next season. What league? Probably the Championship, but what the fuck eh!
-
Our playing squad is getting worse season on season. We have a tiny squad and don't seem to be interested in adding to it, never mind improving the quality. The players we have left are getting worse or want to leave. (Bassong and maybe one or two other appart) Even if we stay up, we will lose Given, Owen, NZogbia, plus anybody else Ashley can get decent money for. Then we go bidding for Championship and SPL standard players. Ive been more depressed as a Newcastle fan, but ive never been so pesimistic about the future.

The Record reports it would take £2.5mil to get Barry Ferguson. I don't think he's good enough, but if JFK wants him, and we can't stretch to £2.5mil then thats pretty worrying. -
Like quite a few people on here who read what they wanted to read. our demise of the last 18 months and current shambles isn't a figment of anyones imagination, other than those who refuse to admit it. Weve been going backwards ever since we lost to Partizan Belgrade. We were on par with Liverpool back then, they sacked their manager at the right time and appointed a good manager. We should have moved Bobby upstairs after finishing 5th, we would have been able to get a world class replacement at the time and move forward again. However, the fat c*** in charge of the club at the time waited until a stupid time to sack him, appointed a shocking replacement which made us a laughing stock. Since that day we struggle to be taken seriously as a football club. Ashley has come in and things go from terrible, to utter f***ing terrible. 6th biggest turnover, 50000 seat stadium, loyal fans, huge wage bill, however totally shocking management by Shepherd and now Ashley has destroyed any potential we ever had of making it back to challenging at the top like we were 6 or 7 years ago. Our reputation as a football club is a joke and we're a laughing stock . Even if we had money to spend, players and managers would think twice before ever coming here now. this always makes me smile. Only in people's heads. Nobody laughs at anybody but us ? Thats what I call a laugh. We have only been going backwards since we stopped trying to show the ambition to be a top club. By your criteria, Arsenal have also "gone backwards" since they were undefeated Champions ....... I don't know what gets into some people, who seem to think nobody else appoints a poor manager, and every season you should be moving up the league. Incredible. We are NOW going backwards, back to 3rd rate levels, and thats because we are behaving like a 2nd rate club, not a club trying to compete with the others of the biggest stature. I laugh at clubs who f*** up as well, however we're a massive f*** up compared to where we were. We ARE a laugh stock. Other clubs do appoint poor managers yes, but to appoint someone for no other reason that he's a 'hard man', to sort out a dressing room who were taking the piss is a terrible move. Souness was a shocking appointment, not a bad appointment, a truely terrible appointment. So much so that we may never recover from his reign of torture. everybody laughs at other clubs, on phone ins and message boards. Its part of being a football supporter. They will always find something. Louise Taylor is a prime example. How can a mackem take the piss out of Newcastle ? People laugh at Man U, including Newcastle supporters ? What irony that is, don't you think ? What position are us, and most clubs in, that they feel they can laugh at Man U ? Just learn to ignore it, if you can't take such things, give up being a football fan. FWIW, nobody has took the piss out of me about Newcastle, and I live out of the area. Nobody has been the slightest bit bothered about anything Shepherd said, Hall said, even if they noticed. If anything they were envious as hell when we played in europe and most wished us all the best. Even lately, the people who give a toss, if anything have sympathised with the mess that Ashley has caused and said the sooner we are rid of him the better. I don't really care when folk take the piss out of me. I know loads of fans of other clubs and yes, they do take the piss, just as I take the piss out of my Leeds supporting mate. I agree its part of football. However, when you start to agree with what they say when taking the piss, and find it hard to argue against them, you know we're a bit of a joke. Fucka, even David Bentley came out and called us a joke so it can't go that unnoticed. Granted, he's a prick, but if thats what one footballer thinks it can't do us any good when trying to attract new signings.

Was it really worth starting another thread just to have a moan about something Kinnear said? Why not? Exactly. Too many ridiculously long threads on here to sift through. I wish there were more new threads started on here rather than these massive threads where so much is discussed.

Doubt Man Utd will get rid of Evans. He seems to be the main back up to Vidic and Ferdinand. -

Saw in The Journal we're after Kevin Doyle. I would take him I have to say, however we need a couple central midfield players better than what we have currently playing, someone at least to play alongside Barton. Another centre back who needs to be good enough to start most games. We can't rely on Bassong all the time and he can't be made to play every game if we have shite in front of him as it will hamper his development. Someone with Premiership experience. And two full backs are also a must. Jimmy Bullard Scott Brown Kevin Doyle The defenders are hard to pick, but we really need to spend a bit of money to attract what we need. Ashley is staying now so he needs to put his money where his mouth is. If he can justify £8million for a 6th striker, he can stump up the cash for positions we need now. -
I don't have any right to lord about anyone to be honest. We (My family) has not so much money and didn't want to let myself alone to the Toon as far as I'm not 16, but with my collected money it should be possible to fly one week to Newcastle in March/April. I'm a Newcastle Supporter since around 5-6 years, it's not that easy if you are living in Germany to get on Newcastle. Of course at the beginng I less cared but then even more and more I found my fever for a club thouthand miles away which hasn't won anything in the last years. Who cares?. Since along time ago I have followed (nearly / more than alot) all Newcastle matches first in Internet streams, later on f**king expensive Pay-TV. Sitting here and be trusty to a club like Newcastle is not that easy from some thouthand miles away. I could like all the others here support one of the Big 4 and not make myself look like a clown standing with my Newcastle scarf on the school floor. No matter of results or whatever, me, and more then alot of other people follow this club too with a really passion from other countrys, theres just no other possiblity. Are we then less worth supporters? Of course we are not the same as someone who has a season ticket singing in St James Park, like we all from different countrys would more or less love to do. I'm not the same as you as a seaon ticket holder, I even wasn't at Newcastle. But I think that I'm still a toon supporter over years like you even just before my PC, in School or in Forums like this, I do not help the team in stadium, but you don't have to blame us and we are not any less worth only because we were born and raised at the wrong places... I wish you all the best of nights! Great post! We can critisise them whenever we like. They're two totally different issues. I actually went to the game with two Liverpool fans from Berwick and sat inbetween them. Despite not saying anything when I mentioned it, I think they were quite surprised at how shit their fans were.

Brilliant game at Shielfield today. 2-0 down and a man sent off, but Berwick come back to win 3-2. Chuffed!

Your not the sharpest that is why have not been arsed to reply to your other post, BUT most parts of the grounds have not noticed the change & still have the same stewards in there areas. Now jog on have a think why large men are having to try sort order out L7 corner, there is no need to reply just be happy that you have figured it out for yourself. I beg your pardon? Is there any need to resort to petty jibes? The reason large men are now patrolling the L7 corner is because the stewarding has been outsourced to a company that provides the city's bouncers, and the same staff are now being used in the football ground. I haven't seen any trouble in the Level 7 corner since it was set up, nothing that requires bouncers to be there Thespence. So instead of being insulting why don't you go to the Laing Art Gallery on Sunday. It will save you having to endure the thuggish, loutish behaviour of the rest of us who enjoy going to the football and having a bit of an atmosphere going rather than sitting in absolute silence. No other part of ground is having any bother, all the stewards who have worked certain parts of the ground for god knows how many years ARE STILL IN THERE USUAL PALCE. SJP didn't have any of this problem last year with home fans standing it does now because people will not doing as they are requested to sit down. The same blokes work the Northumberland Plate at racecouse they tell people you cant take pints in a glass on to the grass & people RESPECT what they say, nobody steams on to the grass "IT IS SAFE, I WILL PUT IT IN THE BIN!!!" They are not bouncers when they are working at SJP they stewards. I dont need to go to the Laing tbf I have mastered how to sing sitting down, it is not hard. I could also sing in the Gallowgate in the 80's when people were able to stand at games, that wasn't hard either. Tbf it is the best door firm in Newcastle/North East it is why every large pub/club organsation uses them & Northumbria Police praise them as they have ended the era of local thugs running most of the doors. They may well have ended the thuggish behaviour at bars, but the steward who launched himself into the lad on Sunday was the most violent person I have seen in a football crowd in a long time. You obviously have a distinct dislike for the people who sit up in the leazes level 7, whether they sit or stand. Why that is, only you know. You keep going on about that bloke, but I don't see anyone defending him. People keep going on about how thuggish level 7 is without justification. Its a stereotypical view that is held by snobs in other areas of the ground. People in level 7 are not second class Newcastle supporters. You haven't commented on what I said though It's been well documented in the past the above average amount of trouble the people who now sit up there seem to manage to get into. That's not to say everyone should be tarred with the same brush, but you deny they seem to attract troublemakers. Ive sat there at nearly every game, and there hasnt been any trouble. Standing up isnt 'trouble'. Im glad not all our supporters are like you and Thespence or it would be pretty boring on match day. Might as well be watching the snooker. Eh? Moaning about rules and slavering on about the law all of the time. You also seem to confuse people enjoying themselves with troublemaking. You also like to label sections of our support and come across as pretty snobby. Its also an offence to be intoxicated in a football ground, but clubs turn a blind eye to this. Suppose they sell drink though, so breaking the rules is alright if it makes them a profit. Its a nonsence rule which can never be policed, just like the nonsence rule about folk standing up. Its a rule with no justification so people will ignore it. edit; there is trouble, because the stewards cause the trouble. As far as I can see, the only punch thrown by anyone in Level 7 this season has been from a steward.

Yeah. I thought that after watching his goal back on Sunday. He just seemed to throw Guthrie out of the way when he tried to celebrate with him. Acted like a bit of a cunt really.

The problem though, is that people are allowed to stand in football stadia for other events, rugby, concerts etc. Football fans get treat like morons. I stand every day, and very rarely fall over, and cannot see why my risk of falling over increases dramatically when I am in a football stadium. It may surprise stewards, football stadium staff and city councils but loads of people find standing quite simple and risk free and some people can even walk whilst standing with a hardy few being able to jog and run too. Good post. Ive been to games before where ive been told that I stand at my own risk, and the club can't be held responsible if I fall over. I accepted this and continued to stand. The most 'dangerous' time in a football ground is after a goal is scored when everyone is jumping up at the same time, and then jumping up and down most of the time. This happens all around the ground at every goal, so the safety issue of standing up at normal points of the game doesnt really wash with me. In Level 7 esspecially where there is loads of room. What happens at Everton by the way? They seem to stand all game behind the goal and I never see any bother.
-
Easier? Yes easier. Not in terms of physically easier, ie. my voice doesnt go when I sit down, but its easier to sing when you're standing up with everybody else. In terms of confidence and feeling part of something.
-
I can sing and sit down as well, but its alot easier when standing up. The atmosphere wouldnt be as good if everyone sat down.
-
If they make people sit down, it won't be a singing area anyway because its hard to get an atmosphere going sitting down. Sitting down in the hope that they keep the section will be pointless, because without standing up and singing, it might as well be any other part of the ground. I'd prefere everyone to keep doing what they're doing.
-
Whats he been doing? Can only be on about £15k a week.
-
Hopefully he doesnt piss off Martins too much whilst trying to keep Owen happy in a desperate attempt to get him to sign a new contract.
