  1. Seriously, given the option of Best, Shola or Lovens who would you pick every game?
  2. We're not incredibly tight at the back. Time to start slashing wrists. Maybe with more possesion... ah, that's a tired old argument already. I do worry, I'm just an optimist when it comes to Newcatle United. (Despite the recent history stretching back as long as I can remember.)
  3. I think he'll score goals but am concerned that he'll be out injured now and again, we can't hang our hat on him. We coped without Carroll when he got injured, but.. I agree 100% anyway, an injury to Ba will be damned worrying.
  4. Whilst I wholeheartedly agree, the goals still concern me. Barton Tiote Nolan Carroll has more goals in it then: Cabaye Tiote HBA Ba IMO. There is no question that the quality of the midfield is so much better in the latter and it'll create so much more in terms of goalmouth action, but I'd still want to buy a proper goalscorer to stick these chances in the net. Time will tell but I'm not as certain as you.
  5. Looks promising based on absolutely nowt. Know what you mean though, I was impressed with Cabaye at Leeds. Can't wait to see him and Tiote playing together, eventually. I'm not jumping to conclusions. It looks promising based on the fact that i believe all three to be extremely good footballers, even though i've seen hardly out from Cabaye. Close to being wanktastic - for us. And I'm not given to outward displays of excitement. Though I have had a canny bit to drink.

    Joey Barton

    - He's like a frigging teenager that just discovered a tattered book of quotes and thinks each one of them is a mind-blowing revelation.
  7. Given that half our players are French I'm expecting to see Cabaye take quite an authorative role, if he does do that Barton may not be as big a miss as some imagine. Obertan could get more game-time than many think.
  8. Wat? Toon Toon. Black and White Army. Damn! I usually get them where others are scratching their heads but that completely went past me.
  9. Loved him in that 4-4 must admit.
  10. Massive upgrade on Nolan tbh. Don't think that adjective gets used enough, at least not in a positive sense.
  11. More a number 1 than the other two, could really develop too.
  12. Poll results at present indicate it's a pretty acceptable deal.
  13. As things stand he's replacing a valuable first team player ffs. And Parky, why didn't Ferguson send him out on loan, it's not like he isn't fond of doing so. Because the lad asked for a transfer.
  14. It's excellent business then. We should be worrying less about who players are better than and more about whether they are good enough to get us where we want to be, imo. We rarely see eye to eye do we Wullie.
  15. It's excellent business then.
  16. 12,000 people turning up today is evidence, if ever it were needed, that NUFC as a fanbase will never be able to stand up collectively, say 'no more' and boycott games to get rid of this lot. Too many people simply don't have the willpower to avoid going to the game, and I include myself in that. and thank god for that. You might think it's worth us plummeting down the table on the off chance Ashley would sell up but I think I''ll take things as they are if that's your alternative. How did you get any of that from what he said? Organised boycotts would make Newcastle football club a pretty unhappy place IMO, not just for fans but players and staff as well. If Ashley's investing too little now, he wouldn't put anything at all in if customers stopped turning up. I just think things could go downhill very quickly. The club appears to be a black hole of misery at present, both on and off the pitch. If we don't sign some good first team players and also lose our first 2 games it'll be even worse than now and that'll be nothing to do with the fans not going to matches. I've read it all now. "Everything is peachy. Nothing to see here!" Ian W, 2011. You seem to be equating NO forum with the club Jack, keep up like that and you'll be right up there with Neesy despite your unforgettable first post
  17. Was the highlight of the close season for me when I thought Colocho had left the board, bitterest pill to discover he's still here posting his uniques brand of opinion.
  18. Also seems a bit unfair to saddle us with 'second season syndrome'. Not like it's our first time in the EPL, other way round, the season in the Championship was the anamoly.
  19. Don't expect him to make a home debut. He'll start away as long as there's no extreme circumstances.
  20. God only knows what he's going to do. As far as I'm concerned we only have one genuine striker, but playing just 1 at home might look a little hesitant. Just hoping Cabaye psyches Gervinho out in the tunnel and he doesn't get his first EPL goal against us. Hope to fuck Enrique is playing and is up for it.
  21. Just spent the last hour watching vids. Serious upgrade on Routledge and offers more as a RW than - though as a RM probably not. Has a tendency to run out of ideas but that may be a confidence issue and which footballer doesn't fuck up from time to time. I've watched Messi a few times and wondered what the hell everyone else saw in him. On his day of course he's unplayable. Obertan is a great addition to the squad and should fit in and adapt well with all the other French players here. I'd put him on the team sheet ahead of Lovenkrands or Routledge, (realise he's gone), without a moments indecision. edit: to qualify that was Loven as a fwd, not a RW. Obertan is clearly versatile. Another plus.
  22. Got my mind on the same thing, decent time to play them imo. Won't be another 4-4 that's for sure though.
