  1. How the fuck would that ingratiate him with the supporters.
  2. A thread for your dreams that are specifically football related. Last night I saw the best goal ever, Silvain Marveaux, in the obligatory black'n'white, cut in from the left wing and launched a shot; Ben Arfa had just laid the ball off to him.. similar to the run by Enrique against Everton away, but, as I say, Marveaux cut inside and launched one. Keeper was at full stretch and got his hands to it but couldn't hold it and ended up in the back of the net with the ball. It was brilliant. Then I woke up.. So, as the thread says, football related dreams.
  3. I did, yes and like I say I know its open to criticism because of staggering number of good reasons but I just have this inkling that he might be decent. He just has certain qualities which makes me think he could do a job. Glen Johnson is genuinely one of the worse defensive fullbacks I've seen for a long time, but he's also one of the better attacking full backs, I think going forward from a deep position with all the space full backs are afforded, Jonas could become a major asset for us. As I say, inane curiosity. Ok, I can't see it myself and did wonder if you might have missed an 'S' out of the word inane. Offensively he'd be fine, but defensively he'd be worse than Glen Johnson. (caveat IMO)
  4. You watched the world cup games where he was played there?
  5. One game? They're all prone to mistakes and if you foucus on them you would end up not picking any of them. How many footballers don't drop a bollock from time to time? Saylor had 29 starts for the U21's scoring 4 goals. He's also scored a considerable amount of goals for us considering his position. I don't know how thick he is but each year he grows older one would hope he grows a bit wiser.
  6. Cabaye likes to get forward, I think the only reason he sat so deep for Lille was that was the role he was given. He's happy box to box.
  7. I'd still be tempted to play Stevie Taylor as RB, if only for the fact they all have their faults but at least Saylor can pop up with goals from corners.
  8. I don't think he's coming, not first choice anyway. If Barnetta falls through we might up the ante, that's what I think anyway.
  9. I think (although I haven't seen him on a regular basis for a couple of years) he'd be perfect in the Premier League. He's pretty much a jack of all trades - master of none. Reasonably fast, good delivery, can come inside, good shot on him and has a very good attitude/work rate on the pitch. I wouldn't say he's as good as N'Zogbia (but it's difficult to compare obviously) but I'd rate him significantly better than Barton. ...in the offensive role
  10. Ben Arfa will roam around picking up the ball from the middle Absolutley... Cabaye Tiote | Barnetta Arfa Marveaux | Ba

    Joey Barton

You could hire a solicitor if you needed contracts checking, no need for agents at all - they should be illegal, cunts.

Assuming he has a choice he'll take 10
  13. Imo it's definitely possible to put together a deal that would entice Sturridge, but admittedly that's based on him being a rational human being and not a simpleton with spinning dollar signs for eyes. Or a cunt of an agent. Irrespective of what he's on at Chelsea I think it's pretty safe to assume he's already a rich man. Pulling figures out of a magic hat - offer 57k a week + 5k/goal, guaranteed starting position if fit, and pushing for CL football in 2 seasons, if we don't make it willing to sell at same price we bought. (Because by then if someone is willing to buy he'll go for moere than we paid anyway, at least in theory. - And providing there isn't a Minimum release fee) I'd open the bidding at 15 or 16m hoping to grab him for 18m tops and sell it to him on the guaranteed starting position and the clubs ambition to challenge - look at the other players we're bringing in etc.
  14. I worked with a bunch of Glasgow lads in the Isle of Skye many years ago. Supported both Rangers and Celtic, couple of them were best mates. They'd always take the piss out of each other but really friendly banter, until it came to an Old Firm game. Then they got really serious, they'd even travel down together at opposite ends of the train because they'd get to beating seven bells out of each other if they didn't. (and they had in the past come to blows many times, a day or two later they'd just grin sheepishly at each other and get back to being mates.) So, I guess in most cases, all the differences are put aside as trivialities until certain times of the year. Not just football games either, certain dates in their respective religous calenders to a lesser degree can bring out the antagonism.
  15. Reading those comments from a source close to Nolan made me think of Steve Wraith, all sounded pretty much like what he might have said. And he's self-proclaimed close to just about everyone.
  16. Wish you'd post more like the above, you can really make a point when you put your mind to it.
  17. I'm in some dreamland aren't I. Don't want to wake up either.
  18. What's new? Robert and Ginola were exactly the same in a 4-4-2 (for the most part), where you'd expecting them to contribute even more defensively than a wide-man in a front 3. Was just thinking it is not something you could ever accuse Jonas of, that's all.
  19. Daft to sell for any price, he's the lynchpin of the whole defence. Sell him and the back 4 is completely disrupted and needing at least the same money spent to try and restore it.
  20. I think we have to make sure Barton is gone come August, given his proclivity for punching Frenchmen.
  21. We'll never get through the season with all these crocks intact But anyway.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

There were some clinical passes to get on the end of like. And with Cabaye adding his too. Mouthwatering
