  1. No-one is scared of us anymore.. rest of the season is going to be like this.
  2. Wait, am I getting this right, the reason Shearer isn't out manager is because he (Shearer) f***ed off at the end of last season? Or do you mean he had a meeting with Ashley and laid out his plans.. that scared the s*** out of Ashley. We could debate that perhaps, were Shearer's demands excessive? Given the clubs track record with verifiable statements I wouldn't expect many to believe the tales of extravagent demands. Given the fact I've never met Ashley or implied it I'd say your post was a pile of s***. Not sure how you read that into my post, I never implied anything but especially not that you'd met Ashley. We do know Shearer and Ashley met though, and there was talk (papertalk?) afterwards that Shearers wage demands were high and/or the transfer kitty he wanted was excessive. I'm trying to understand your statement re 'Shearer fucking off at the end of the season'. It seems an extreme statement, given that, as far as we know, he wasn't even offered the job. Unless you're implying his demands effectively ruled him out of the job.

    Match fixing

Goal 4 was pretty funny, the showboating attacker managed to lose the ball to a defender who was trying NOT to tackle him.

  5. What a fucking depressing read this thread has been. (Bar the last few posts hinting of upping the game) And there's some would give Hughton the managers job.
  6. It's a good punt we'll lose in the play-offs! Our recent track record regarding what happens when it's time to 'stand up and be counted' is, half of them disappear.
  7. It must be clear to all but the most deluded of gibbons that KK perceviered to get the judgment and all the facts out into the open regardless of cost or settlement. Persevered?
  8. Still, silver lining time, we'll be sold this time next week.
  9. Some editor, some place, some time, said. 'We're not going to let the truth get in the way of a good story.' Wonder how many of tomorrows headlines will still be printing shite and ignoring the pdf and Keegans statement knowing the vast majority will not have seen them.
  10. Be a bit of a makeshift defence tonight won't it? BBC reporting Coloccini ruled out with R Taylor and D Simpson both doubtful. Any more team news? (edit: Hmm, .com reporting Simpson fit to return.)
  11. Until Nolan got that first goal Ipswich were shading it for me. The looked to have a more stable back line (mostly due to our lack of creativity), they were faster and more efficient playing it through midfield and looked more penetrating in the final third. Neither team was good though it has to be said. Then wham bam thank you ma'am, 3 goals in approx 4 minutes. When was the last time we did that? Then it all turned off again. Boring stuff if you ask me bar that manic 5 minutes. Rangers header on about 40 minutes, commentator said he should be scoring from there but it looked a fine save by the keeper. Butt is past it, effing hopeless. Also rash tackles giving unecessary fouls from a few of our lads, Smith, Taylor, Nolan. All in all though, worth watching just for those 3 goals in such quick succession. Even felt sorry for Keane.
  12. Glad I never went with my first draft then, the one that called you a sarcy twat.
  13. . . and what would be the point of him buying it anyway, he couldn't afford to run it. Now I don't get that statement. In what way could, for instance, FS afford to run it. Once the club is bought you find methods to finance it linked to the revenue the club generates. Few clubs have owners that are running a club with their own money. Well done for having the patience to write that basic point yet again. I invariably pick up a thread where I left it previously, when I read a post I want to answer - I answer it. Then often find out my point has already been raised in the following 1, 2 or 3 pages. Sorry if it gets repetitive for you.

  15. In the second one, the ambulance driver chasing him as though he's commited some heinous crime.
  16. Just listening to the radio commentary it sounded a decent enough match, yet everyone is saying we were crap. If we were crap, and I can't dispute it, then Cardiff must have been crap x 2. (edit: Another alternative is I was listening to an extremely biased commentary featuring Bob Moncur)
  17. Big chance wether Ashley owns us or not, if he's that good and a top club starts paying attention will he want to stay or go?
  18. I sense a carnival atmosphere approaching, hopefully.
  19. A .com take on Ameobi Having entertained those present with his unique playing style and a pair of purple boots seemingly borrowed from a circus, Sammy Ameobi then ensured that the points stayed on Tyneside, heading home Paul Dummett's cross at the near post after 78 minutes. Can anyone comment on his 'unique' playing style?
  20. You must be kidding. Let him shaft us? In what way? That song gets a huge airing at every away game. There's only so much you can do as a fan, whatever we say he's not going to sign an extra centre back to act as cover. Although that's probably our fault as we're sitting back and letting him.
  21. That, imo, has been a major contributory factor in our fall from grace, letting bad manager after wrong manager after completely wrong manager 'have a go'. This topic is about the prospect of Alan Shearer getting the manager's job, you're proving my point right there Hughton is so far, doing a good a job. Why on earth would we replace him with someone who has proved fuck all apart from the fact he's not a premiership manager Can't really disagree with your first sentence, but 8 games with a shell-shocked squad = not a Premiership manager I'm not saying he's the dog's bollocks of managers either btw, just that statement is the opposite of Shearer is da best ever! The only real thing in Shearers favour (as an untested manager) is how he commands respect and that he may be quite a pull for getting players in.
