Teams always try to maximise what they can sell a player for (outside of the rare oddities like falling out with players ect but that will always happen), so I don't see FFP changing that. Generally prices get inflated when you have some people/clubs willing to pay whatever it takes because they've got money coming out of their arses (Chelsea/Man City).

Why is it a bizarre decision? Its a symbiotic relationship. No need to change so long as the status quo is maintained. Surely with a £50m fine they won't afford to spend much, and it would be somewhat funny to see their ageing squad in the Premier League. Its basically their first years Premier League prize money taken off them, then they'll have to fit within the Premier Leagues new FFP rules despite that or be fined again so yeah they'll struggle for the first year.
