Played well overall, but have to admit I was screaming at the screen in the second half when he broke and had Remy in a great position to get in behind for several seconds and didn't pass. He looked like he was scared to try it and held onto the ball for a safer pass.

Fucking mental like

Appeals are heard before the next match. When is the last date to appeal though?

You see players do exactly what Remy did all the time and get nothing, or a yellow at worst 90% of the time. He barely moved his head towards Johnson.

Jeez, I can't beleive people still say this, he made two or three defense splitting passes tonight, had great vision, played it easy and neat when needed and when on mazy runs when we lacked impetus. 9.5 out of 10, the 0.5 for his crap tackling... He isn't god, is he? Its the same all the time from some, they seem to just not see anything good that he does. He wasn't consistently great tonight or owt, made mistakes, should really have scored, but also as you say provided some excellent balls in behind that the team should have scored from and generally played well. But for some strange reason some people either don't see it or just hold him to a different standard.

got reina a red vs us when he put his head in the vague direction of perch a year or two ago Just because it benefited our team at the time doesn't mean I agree with it. fact of modern football they're all a bunch of dirty cheaters Don't know about all. For instance today I think if Ben Arfa pretended he was fouled when he stumbled in the box we'd have gotten a pen. Looked like a pen from where the ref was and he took ages walking up thinking about it, looking for reactions from players. Ben Arfa didn't apeal so he knew there must be no contact.

Four of the first team squad out at the moment to be fair, no doubt people will say well one isn't coming back (Cabaye) but one will soon be in the door who would have started today.

16 isn't he? Thought he was 17 later this year. That's usually the order they go in. He could have just turned 16 this year and be 17 early next year smart arse

You're not going to bother watching?

Not as bad as it could have been I suppose.

That makes way much too sense to actually happen. Even if I thought there was a remote chance that they would reinvest the fee received, I doubt there would be that much money available to buy two players. This is how they work. We got 16million for him. Of that 16 million, there would be a loyalty fee payable to Cabs no doubt, maybe agent fees too, so maybe we can drop it down by a couple of million when they factor in other costs involved in the sale for us. Say we agree a deal of 10 million (may be a little low) for cabella in the summer, the signing on fee and agents and other cost could push that close the the 14 million net spend we had available to us ! This is how they do business, we have to work with the money the club generates, so they will at best replace Cabs in the squad with one player, hopefully that player will be of a equivalent or better level. Not forgetting any new players wages must come out of that fee as well. Ashley always includes the wages on his assets. Why hasn't that happened since we've been back in the Premier League though? Sold players for around £60m and brought players in for around £60m, are we paying them £0 in wages?

The fee is reported by most as around £20m. Other places report it as 20m Euros (£16.4m) up front and 5m Euro's (£4.1m) in bonus payments, which would come to just over £20m

The fee really doesn't matter though, it's irrelevant because we know it won't be reinvested. I didn't care what we got, I just wanted to keep the player. I know for us it's irrelevant as they won't reinvest and we don't get to watch him play for us anymore. Of course it matters what we get for transfers, since we got back into the Premier League we've sold players for around £59m and spent around £60m (considering not all fees are exact its likely we've spent basically exactly whats come in for transfers). I'm not saying that's good, but it tells a very obvious story about how much the transfer fees we bring in effect what we're prepared to spend.

Should keep Remy up front and bring in Ben Arfa and Marveaux, but yeah of course Ameobi will come in

Really like Shelvey. Shelvey's on a different level at Adam like, weird looking fucker though

Can't you swap with Roger Kint?
-
Merseyside derby could be getting a viewing instead tbh

Wait.. Cabaye is gone, Gouffran is out, Cisse and Obertan aren't available to come off the bench on 70 minutes for no apparent reason. How will Pardew keep Ben Arfa out of the side for 85 minutes today?

He's a good young striker, its all gone wrong for him in Germany but even then his goal record isn't bad there. He's scored 6 goals since joining in 2012 !! I supposed compared to Shola that's a fabulous return. Knew this would be the reply.. How can you score goals if you don't play? Those 6 goals are from 23 games (of which 6 were sub appearances), a goal every 3.8 games. Not terrible in Germany for a player not regularly in the side is it? Like I said its all gone wrong for him there, no doubt about that since he's played so few games. But considering that fact his goal record isn't that bad even there. Hmm that's debatable, not terrible I agree but hardly prolific and the fact that his coach doesn't have faith in him scoring on a regular basis so he's not getting picked is even more of a concern. You write this in a way that suggests the German league is tougher than the one he's coming too. I know it's cool to knock the PL, but nowhere in the top leagues do you have a as much competition in games, it's a corny old line but there are no easy games here where strikers can up the goal tally. Obviously we've got to give him a chance, and the fact that Unbelievable rates him is good to hear, since he's probably seen him play a lot more times than anyone else on here. But I can't help feel a little sceptical on this one, in many respects the club's done the right thing with the loan (as long as the option to buy thing is true). Its not prolific no, but if he was prolific in that circumstance I'd be absolutely amazed. Not suggesting Germany is better than the Premier League either, just saying its not a weak league that should be taken lightly, like for instance the Dutch league. I'm reasonably excited to see what he can do if he's given plenty of starts, I can safely predict he'll be much better than Shola already

But when he was getting in the side even semi regularly last season his goal record wasn't that bad.
