He would have been because he's not good enough. Woltemade has been poor but he's shown his potential and quality. His level is well above what we're getting from him. Calvert Lewin is a decent player. But this is him at his best and he's not really any better than Osula is right now (and Osula can improve).

Their are multiple fouls every corner. It's about which fouls are given and especially VAR overruling what was given on the pitch. That should be a foul, but so are 4 to 5 challenges per corner. I guarantee that in another game we'd get "It's not a clear and obvious mistake so we can't intervene".

The Premier League just put as much subjectivity into the laws of the game as possible to allow for manipulation. One minute it's "we can't overrule that incorrect decision because it's not clear and obvious enough". The next minute they're analysing the refs decision to death and overruling it based on a marginal call.

This is what happens when refs and VAR broadly refuse to make decisions from corners. They allow huge amounts of fouls every time. All they have to do is act on them every time and they'd stop. But maybe it's deliberate. Because now the fouls keep happening and they can simply apply the rules only to specific fouls they want to steer the game a certain way.

Every single corner multiple fouls are committed worse than that. Why is that a foul and not any of the others? It's no good saying that is a foul if it doesn't stand up to other decisions consistently.

Where you're wrong here is thinking that lots of people give Murphy slack. He's had nothing all game and still put a few fantastic balls into the box that we easily could have scored from early on. So to say he offers nothing going forward, when He's created more opportunities than Woltemade is daft, and I'm a Woltemade fan myself. He's drifted out of the game later on, so has almost everyone. But you're right that some people have certain players to blame no matter how many are actually to blame. Including you with Murphy. The big question is will Eddie Howe get some balls and make changes at half time or will he hide behind the fact we aren't losing like he always does?
