Incredibly we aren't bottom. Wolves, Burnley and Chelsea (bottom), are below us. But yeah Brighton are top so its wishful thinking that we should turn up and beat them with the way we're playing. But lets hope we manage it somehow.

About those two Champions League campaigns. Howe can't deal with them. So how do we ever move forward if every time we get in the CL we finish midtable or lower? Its not just about squad depth either.

We've played games with teams very much like this over the last couple of seasons. They weren't losing 9 in 12 and now 5 in a row then. Of course Howe has to take huge responsibility for that. We also have some better players on the bench, but Howe cant work out a system for them.

Was pushing a weak shot right back into the middle of goal and spending a week to get back up against Everton risk raking? Was punching a floated ball anyone could easily catch right to a West Ham player for a goal risk taking? Was being beaten at his near post from 18 yards out against Man City somehow due to risk taking?

We were conceding less chances earlier in the season when Pope was in goal. Thats not down to Pope, but a more stable back 4 and team in general. He had a far easier time of it and still managed to cost us several games not through an inability to save his defence, but pure blunders. Pope in this current side isnt keeping many clean sheets, and he's liable to throw a few extra goals to the opposition.

Maybe, but what's going to happen any other season when we have lots of games and little time for coaching inbetween? Howe will never be able to make us successful when we're in multiple competitions. Even with more squad depth. He never has a plan b, cannot react to other managers changes tactically and basically only ever reacts to goals with "fresh legs". We need to get through this season and find someone better before next.

Why are we whining about players possibly leaving because of "the media" and "cartels"? If players leave it's down to the clubs failure. We aren't victims of a conspiracy or a greater power. We aren't victims at all, stop wallowing FFS.

No, people are actually giving reasons why they think Howe isn't good enough. But they're being met with "but he did well in the past". If you can argue someone's success in the past will lead to success in the future then great. But you need to argue that, not point to "credit in the bank". Seems like the only argument I see for Eddie Howe is loyalty.and/or nostalgia. I don't want to have to say that. I think he's a good and honest man who's done his best and cares about the club. He's been a big part of a huge improvement in the history of Newcastle United. But it's small time to put that ahead of improving the club.

Ok, but I don't think they have appeared this season. These issues have been their for seasons. The way I've seen it for years is that Howe has big weaknesses and big strengths. I've been hoping he could improve on the weaknesses, but I don't believe that's ever happening now.

No, it's looking at the past and saying he's had some success without a reasoned argument as to why. Because if you have a real argument to why he's a good manager then why would you need to talk about "credit in the bank".
