  1. Not sure I get this bit? Why would it be lifted later when he's at the Spuds? Did Wigan play more games in that period then Spuds? I think the point is he was cup tied for Man Utd FA Cup game, so that match shouldn't have counted as one of his suspension matches - not sure if that matters or not though. (As Optimistic Nut said just before me) Ah right, well it comes down to whether there's a rule for that and what it says, nobody knows so in that case the FA probably will just say its ok so they don't have to punish the Spuds.
  2. Makes no difference what so ever, they'll get done if its true, simple as that.

  4. Not bothered in the slightest about Given going.
  5. Aye! Get those bodies in! I hope I wrong but can anyone else really see anyone other than Ryan Taylor signing?? Screwed again by Dennis the Fuckwit wise, still got Geremi, lost Shay and Insomnia. No money spent and no players So far thats Milner 12mil, Shay 5-6m? and Zog 6m? Nolan 4m and Talyor 2m, what happened to the other 12 mil and the money we where promised this window??? We have been royally shafted again Very selective that like.
  6. Am I the only one who thinks that doesn't make any sense?..
  7. He was extremely fast.. at doing fuck all.
  8. I was referring to Bruce's comments and how they contradict what the little french moaning shit bag said earlier, apparently Wigan are a very ambitious club you know. Ambitious enough to be a stepping stone club for a never has been who thinks he's a top four player before he's even become a good player.
  9. We've sold out so it must be all rival fans.. love that logic like
  10. He won't like, he'll start well, within a year he'll look huffy and barely ever perform, then the "My agent tells me" shit will start. The kids a rotten egg and I honestly can't see that changing because he's moved to a small club who are performing above themselves at the moment.
  11. I'd pay to see the look on the little cunts face when he see's their facilities, training ground ect. Or when he plays the first game for his new hugely ambitious club.. in front of 14,000 fans
  12. Money. That's really why it's hard to have respect for Given in this move. If a top 4 side were in for him fine, thanks for a job well done hope you go win a medal. But there is no promises that Man City will be in the top 8 next year, never mind the top 4. For all we know Shay could be replaced by the time they get anywhere near the Champions League. It's all about the money. And that's what makes it so disappointing. I think that is absolute shite. He's going there cos it has a sign of promise. There is no chance of him getting in a top 4 team so he needs to find a team that has a chance of getting somewhere. The only teams that have a vague chance of getting there are Villa/Man City. The reason Man City have a chance is because of money, yes, but thats not why he's going there imo. Anyone who thinks a move to Man City is a 'sideways' move from Newcastle United in its current state, is deluded. I totally agree. Some very petty barbs being thrown at an NUFC legend in this thread imo. well said he's jumping ship because we're in a mess and this may be his last chance to move on. he's stayed for many years and i think is 3rd on our all time appearances list iirc so it is not like you can accuse him of leaving at the first sign of difficulty or not sticking with us, he's done that for years when he couldve engineered a move elsewhere. No problem with why he's going, but I've got a big problem with the way he's pushing to go no matter what and with no concern for us at all. We'll end up getting a totally shit fee because of him.
  13. Excellent deal, if we can get an equally good deal for Given (£8 million plus Johnson) and then use that money to strengthen I'll be happy.
  14. Impossible, nobody would ever want to sign for us, ever!
  15. If he's as good at taking free kicks for Newcastle as he is against I'll be happy. Maybe if we put extra Newcastle players in the opposition wall he can imagine he's taking one against us? If we do it against Man City he'll even see Given in goal.. it'll work I tell you!!
  16. Who knows, nobody's even confirmed that a fee has been agreed. But if we're close to an agreement we could ask for them to send him up so we can finalise the fee at the same time to get it done in time. Or maybe not.
  17. He could already be here having a medical so its not impossible.
  18. really? I don't think so. You don't think he's half out the door as it is? Of course I don't want us to be raped money-wise, but I'd take the fairest offer they can give us in a shot now. Especially since he's put in a transfer request. There's hardly any time for us to spend any money as it is. Isn't the fairest offer they can give us just whatever they offer? I don't know. I'm sure both clubs are very aware that we're not wanting to sell for £5m, so I'd only hope they can negotiate a fair price. Now I know we don't have to sell him as such but I'm personally just resigned to him leaving as it is. Anything below £8m and we should refuse though. Fair enough yeah I'd say we should be going for £10 million at the moment, wait until they increase it and then say £9 million final. At this stage I'd be happy enough with that. If Given wasn't stamping his feet so much £12 million would be the lowest acceptable offer.
  19. You say that but I bet man city win alot more than arsenal over the coming years!! I bet they don't. Put your money where your mouth is then?? 20p Make it one English pound!!

Especially since he's put in a transfer request. There's hardly any time for us to spend any money as it is. Isn't the fairest offer they can give us just whatever they offer? No we shouldn't accept that (currently £5 million). We should tell them and Given to fuck right off, we've agreed to his transfer request but that doesn't mean we have to accept whatever Man City throw our way.

  22. Apart from the £50,000 a week and being treat like a fucking king you mean. I can't blame him for eventually wanting to leave, but I definitely blame him for the way he's gone about it. Which could end up costing this club a great deal of money.
