  1. Be careful timmy, you can't mention place names in this forum
  2. They're midfield is the only place were they look better IMO. Put Owen and Martins up front for them and they wouldn't be in the position they are now.

    Hull City - wtf?

Yeah it would be great for them just saying that there is often a promoted team that surprise teams for a lot longer then a few weeks.

    Hull City - wtf?

Thing is the promoted teams normally surprise a few for the first couple of weeks but after that fade away badly. They've backed up the win at Arsenal, which is very impressive. Oh they've done extremely well, especially considering some of the opposition. But its not like its an isolated thing for a new team to do this well at this early stage in the season. Reading did something very similar (had around the same amount of points after 8 games I think) ended up finishing 9th. Wigan in there first season had 16 points after 8 games, they even won there next three in a row as well but then lost six in a row and ended and ended up finishing 10th.
  5. From bad to worse to worse for the Spuds EDIT: Or maybe not, hit the post and then the bar!
  6. 11 minutes stoppage time!!!!
  7. What the fuck is Poyet wearing? Looks like a jacket about 3 times too big for him
  8. As well as loads of injuries, the Spuds don't have major injury problems do they?

    Spurs finally win

It is very sick and wrong, but also very funny
  11. Common you rip roaring potters! mackems.gif
  12. Couldn't agree less there, he looks particularly good one on one, just waits and steps in to take the ball away. Looks like a top central defender in a team in disarray to me.

    Michael Owen

By the time next season begins Owen will be a few months from being 30 and he's on insane wages. Its unfortunate that we may not be able to get any money for him, but its definitely not the end of the world if he goes at the end of the season IMO.
  14. says it all about our plight atm that this is the game i'm relying on to give me my weekly dose of football joy Not really, Newcastle aren't playing this week But seriously, I know what you mean I'm looking forward to this game as well, but I'm still looking forward to the Man City game more.

    The return of Lawro

I agree with the ponce also if he had us down as a loss against City and said we should be worried about relegation the same people would be complaining about his comments
  16. Of course it matters, one situation is a Football club being able to spend because they generate big money from being am extremely successful Football club. The other is a club who are able to spend simply because some bloke decided he fancied playing Football manager in real life. One is the way it should be, the other will destroy the game completely. I'm not saying I like Man Utd, I think they're a bunch of spoilt cunts and I think there is bias towards them from all corners in the game. However I don't think anyone has a leg to stand on when complaining about them spending the money they make from their own success.. Both are several hundred million pounds in debt so, regardless of how they got there, it's hard to argue that "One is the way it should be". Its not hard to argue, its quite easy really. What's hard to argue is that these two clubs are in anywhere near similar situations. Manure are in debt because the Glazers put them in debt to finance their takeover, its also sustainable within the finances of the club. Chelsea are in debt because they couldn't afford the players they bought, or their wages. They're also in debt to a point where they would have had to fold 10 times over if not for Abramovich. Manure are a club who can spend big because they're successful. Chelsea are a club who have had insane amounts of money spent for them to make them successful.. If anyone out there can't see the difference there then.. well I'd be speechless. Of course I can see the difference , that's why I said "regardless of how they got there". The argument isn't how the clubs got into debt, but that no club should be held up as an example of how other clubs should be run when they are so hugely in debt. Given the current financial climate if anyone out there can't see the commonsense in that then... well I'd be speechless. I didn't claim that Manure should be held up as an example of how other clubs should be run. I said that being able to buy big because of being a successful club is how it should be. As compared to being able to buy success because a bloke decides to throw his money away on a unsuccessful club for a laugh (the way it shouldn't be). Having said that I think pre American takeover they are a great example of how a club should be run. They've made themselves into an amazingly successful club through great management and despite not being based in London. Until the Glazers decided buy the club with its own money they didn't have any real debt, and even now the debt they have is still manageable.

    Sunday Gossip

Makes me laugh this Gutierrez situation. He's clearly used a FIFA ruling and made himself a free agent. We've signed him after that, yet "Newcastle are clearly liable" why's that then? Meanwhile they're citing FIFA regulations to us mackems.gif I mean do they really think Gutierrez would be playing if we hadn't had his registration accepted already?.. They just come off as gold digging chancers.

    Nile Ranger

How many goals did the likes of Chopra score for the reserves at 17 years old? Can't remember this much fuss being made about any of the names mentioned here at that age. Nah Power Rangers the real thing!
