We didn't earn Championship money when we were in the Championship so no I don't think we would in this situation either. Other clubs would. But I think over time things would change. Fans dwindling from these super league clubs would inevitably mean TV money dwindling in the long term. While the teams left in a genuine competitive domestic league would slowly grow. Long term I agree they'd want to rejoin. Just my opinion but I think the entire idea of a super league is flawed and would fail long term

Add thick to that as well. They're so fucking stupid they don't realise that they are where they are because of the competitive nature of the league. Which only works with all the teams contributing. They're under the delusion that their club has the devine right to have millions of "fans" around the world. That they bring in all the money and the rest are just leeching off them. Not realising that most of those fans start watching the league itself because of what it is collectively, then choose a club to support along the way. They just happen to be one of the bigger names in that league and so get picked more often than the rest. Without the popularity of the PL they just wouldn't have all of these "fans" around the world. Fucking greedy stupid mongs, they basically don't understand how the game works or why the PL is so popular and are pushing for their own eventual downfall. Great, burn it down to be honest..

They're going to bridge the gap between the PL and Championship by making the league into a dictatorship and bribing clubs to support the Idea then So, as a club outside of the top 6, you're supposed to play a match against one of them and know that they have the power to punish you if they see fit? How on earth can this greasy b****** try to put this joke of an idea across as if its some kind of heroic virtuous thing being offered by the top 6 to save the game?? He's got no f***ing shame at all.

To give refs the chance not to make fucking pathetic decisions, unfortunately some of them are fucked in the head.

But but but, they're Bruce's buys? Caulkin has as much a clue as Edwards. He built a reputation on being significantly more articulate that the typical local journalist and having a tenuous friendship with Staveley which has been shown up to be worth less than a slice of dung smeared toast. I'd be happy to state that people on this forum know as much about what has gone on as Caulkin does after the last few months. Completely untrue. How so? People on here only know what Caulkin and the press tell them barring a few that claim to be ITK. So i Don't think it's unreasonable to claim that people on here know as much as he does (or publishes at least). There's enough members watching many many sources and reports, so anything that comes out tends to end up here one way or another. So your argument is that we know as much as Caulkin does after he tells us, which means he knows nowt? That would only be true if he never received new info. Also the reasoning that all his info from Staveley is worthless because what she's told him hasn't always come to pass is faulty. For instance she might be assured the takeover is being allowed soon. She tells Caulkin who passes, something changes and it doesn't happen That's a case of changing circumstances rather than inaccurate info. So it's no reason the think all other info is worthless.

The PL are not a cash rich organisation either, the operation is actually quite small. This could get very tasty, especially in the current climate. One things for sure other clubs will be f***ing furious If the PL has the financial support of those other clubs they'll be alright. £10million off each of them should see them alright. Can't see many clubs happy to lose 10/20million just to keep the PL going. Would imagine if the PL lose and have a massive bill, the clubs would let them go to the wall and just set up a new league organisation...Ultra League or something along those lines Neither can I. That was a starting point. But I'm sure a scale could work. £50M a piece from Man U&C, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal would do it. How would that look though? NUFC takeover is rejected and from the ensuing court case NUFCs direct competitors from the same league pay the court fines.. Corruption tastic that like.

Yes mate the Saudis will definitely want a team that isn't even allowed to play in the prem. Don't be daft, they would be allowed to play in the PL, there's no other option. The PL are playing this game because they're being allowed to. If they had their bluff called then at worst they would fine the club. No way on earth do they destroy their own league.

As has been said multiple times, its down to the club to inform the league of a takeover and also of the end of that takeover, its not for the league to decide its over because of a announcement from a third party. Clearly something has happened recently to bring this announcement from the club. Its quite silly to try to claim this is a reaction from when PIF pulled out.

My view was that they probably were talking in the background but they wouldn’t find a way to get it passed as the PL wouldn’t budge on their stance and that’s proven to be the case, It’s now been officially rejected. I don’t get the crowing of the ‘it’s still on’ crowd. Bar a lengthy court case or appeal process at this moment the deal has been rejected. Dead There's a appeals process before any legal battle. But I think the crowing is firstly because this is proof that the whole "Its dead and nobody is still talking" claims for the last few weeks have been proven to be wrong. Secondly because a conclusion is always better than none. A formal rejection at least allows the possibility of recourse. I think it's clear the Premier League have tried their best over the last several months to allow no recourse by refusing to make that final decision. Now they've been forced to do that. Before it was limbo and no certainly of the deal even being on or off. Now we have a confusion and the possibility of appeals and challenges. In the world of no hope that is NUFC even a long shot is worth crowing about.

Seems pretty obvious like. PIF announced their withdrawal, but it's the club who informs the league of a takeover and the club who officially withdraws. The club didnt withdraw and kept at it. The Premier League mentioned PIF withdrawing in statements as a easy answer to public questions as they continued to argue with the club on the quiet. Now they've finally had to make a decision. Jacobs is either being deliberately obtuse or he's thick.

Seriously? Did you read the club's statement . . . "This conclusion has been reached despite the club providing the Premier League with overwhelming evidence and legal opinions that PIF is independent and autonomous of the Saudi Arabian government." "The club and its owners do not accept that Premier League chief executive Richard Masters and the Premier League have acted appropriately in relation to this matter and will be considering all relevant options available to them." Yes. I have read it. It will all depend on whether their lawyers think the case is winnable. The problem is that PIF is clearly not autonomous and independent of the Saudi Arabian government. I know it’s complete hypocrisy when compared to Man City etc. but hey this is Newcastle United, what do we expect? But do you not think he'd have taken that advice before making such a incredibly strong statement? "overwhelming evidence" saying the top guy at the Premier League has "acted inappropriately". It's pretty strong for someone who's not yet decided his position. By the way we're is your evidence that PIF are clearly not autonomous? The PIF board: Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al-Assaf - Minister of State and member of the Saudi Council of Ministers Majid Abdullah Al Qasabi - Minister of Commerce Mohammad Abdul Malek Al Shaikh - Minister of State and member of the Saudi Council of Ministers Ahmed Aqeel Al-Khateeb - Minister of Tourism Khalid Abdulaziz Al-Falih - Minister of Investment Mohammed Abdullah Al-Jadaan - Minister of Finance and of course: Chairman of PIF Mohammad bin Salman - The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia... I can imagine you’d have to be a pretty bloody good lawyer to convince anyone that they are independent of the Saudi state... However maybe it is possible, or maybe they hope they can force the PL into submission through expensive litigation? I’m just not feeling positive about it. I think it's the legal structure that separates it from the politics of the government. Apparently plenty of legal people including Qatari lawyers consider it a separate legal entity. I'm no expert but from what's been said in the past (specially from a independent sports lawyer who wrote articles about it) it doesn't seem like a forgone conclusion that it's considered to be run by the government itself.

Personally hope every goes even further. Stop even watching this shit on TV or listening on the radio, stop discussing the score or league placing, take no notice. If someone even mentions NUFC to me now I just tell them "no interest, not even a real Football club while he's in charge". People might think it has no effect, but its finally spreading to some of my mates who are now taking the same view. That the club needs to be ignored until he leaves and it can become a real Football club again.
-
Its really depressing. Just how long is it going to take some people to realise that "support the team not the regime" doesn't work, its complete bollocks. By supporting any aspect of NUFC you're supporting the regime. There is no half way house were we hate that Ashley ripped the soul out of the club and is slowly minimising it until it becomes some shithouse Derby county level nothing club, but we're also happy with the signings this summer so we're going to "support the lads", its fucking mental shite.
-
Always find it amazing when people talk about moving on and getting back to normal for the sake of their sanity. The only thing worth doing that's NUFC related is discussing/waiting for a takeover. At least there's hope in that, unlike supporting this club which is a pointless dredge of shite. Anyone who's still involved in the pitiful excuse of a club that's Mike Ashley's NUFC really needs mental help to be honest.
