  1. The PL lawyers will be important in the decision and for me it hinges on PIF being a separate legal entity. So we are screwed then Why's that? Has anyone with legal knowledge claimed they aren't a separate entity legally?
  2. Just out of interest how much does she stand to win if the verdict goes her way? I know the total amount is £1.5b, but surely she will only get a fraction of that?
  3. Was he speaking in some kind of stilted Arabian accent when he said that?
  4. For most of the clubs history it hasn't been one of the best around no. But not being one of the best and being a completely pointless unsupportable shell of a club are two very different things. Wanting the slow death of a pointless club to continue just so we can "get back to normal" is just something I can't wrap my head around.
  5. I’m fairly sure BeIn let it be known that they would be seeking some sort of compensation if the deal goes through, possibly withholding future payments (if any) Richard Masters has probably been already assured that SA will take up the slack if this were to happen and would be acquiring the rights next time around. If BeIn had to let go of a hundred staff over the decline in revenue relating to BeoutQ, they might not be in a position to bid next time anyway. I love these imaginary best case scenarios that you all convince yourselves of. You're a real weirdo man.
  6. I'd imagine he's suggesting that perhaps her lawyers are being paid by someone with a vested interest like Qatar. That doesn't require any specific belief on the case either way. Someone can be a victim yet still attract the support of people who are only in it for their own agenda.
  7. The article that revealed one of these other proposed buyers (the only other named so far AFAIR) claimed that they were prepared to pay £50m more than PCP Capital. Despite the fact that's completely pointless at this stage, doesn't exactly lend credibility.
  8. Not saying a takeover would actually still happen if we got relegated. But staying in the PL under Ashley and Bruce vs relegation and these new owners simply isn't a choice. The club is literally pointless under Ashley, might as well not exist. I'd take relegation and these new owners gladly by comparison.
  9. This is the key part for people who don't want to go through it:
  10. Don't think it mentions PIF lawyers specifically unless I missed it. Just says they've had it confirmed from both Qatar and Saudi lawyers that PIF is a separate legal entity.
  11. They can plough money in while following a financial plan that stays within FFP. Newcastle's spending could have been about £160m higher in the last 3 years without breaching FFP and that's with current revenue levels. Using that extra money put in to build the clubs revenue would allow for much bigger spending in the following years.
  12. Absolute nonsense thread. Things like this shouldn't just be accepted and rushed through just to help the mental health of Newcastle fans Hardly say it would be rushed through at this stage though. Absolutely nobody here has a clue about what stage they're at/what they're talking about. If say, the piracy thing is an issue, the WTO ruling on BeoutQ only came out this week The Premier League have had that report for 2-3 weeks according to the Guardian, the ruling has only been made public this week. Even if we accept its a complicated process, that's no reason to claim that someone putting the fans frustration across is nonsense. Why are our fans expected to be quiet and patient while everyone else expresses their views day after day on our club?
  13. Absolute nonsense thread. Things like this shouldn't just be accepted and rushed through just to help the mental health of Newcastle fans How is 7-8 weeks rushed through? What's wrong with someone bringing up the issues this delay is having on the lives of fans and employees at the club? Why is that nonsense? Plenty has been brought up against this takeover that quite frankly had nothing to do with the Premier League, but I notice you had no issue with any of that.
  14. maybe they should but ultimately they're not answerable to fans they're answerable to the 20 premier league clubs Of course. Still think it's worth saying even if it will fall on deaf ears though. Much like a lot of the opposition to the takeover was never going to have a effect on a legal process but was still worth saying.
  15. The Premier League shouldn't give a f*** about the fans of one of its clubs? Of course they should, I mean they very likely don't, but they should. It also needs to be said wether they give a s*** or not. Even more so if they don't actually.
  16. Seems they had this info weeks ago and found it was not worthy of stopping the takeover. The specifics now being made public changes nothing as far as what the Premier League have known for weeks now. Perhaps the specifics of the info now being made so public is making them want to hold off on officially green lighting the new owners until things have died down? Can't think of any other reasons.
  17. BTW is this whole Henry Mauriss thing a Mike Ashley wind up? Described as reclusive and a Tottenham fan, is he a fat cunt by any chance?
  18. That is absolute bollocks that mind, what planet is he on  Nah, its just like when you buy a house and your mortgage company want further details, like pay slips ect. So they go to the guy selling the house and ask him.. Oh hold on that never happens because it wold be fucking ludicrous Aye its bullshit like, don't know who's feeding him that or if he's just making it up, but the fact someone calling himself a journalist can come out with mind numbing rubbish like that is just sad.
  19. By a month? Delay by a month? Why not? They're told that the following week they will receive a important report from the WTO related to the takeover. They'll then wait to get that report before approval. Then they spend a couple of weeks looking into it legally and asking the buyers further questions related to that new info.
  20. Obviously the buyers believed it was close back then. So Caulkin reported that belief. Until it's officially complete, which he never claimed it was, things can change. Like when new unexpected documents are sent to the PL for review for instance.. The PL were likely informed they were going to received that report around that time, which has delayed things.
  21. Only time will tell, think he (and the buyers) know more than you and me to be fair though. If no concrete news this week then I think it’s clear he doesn’t know as much as people, including me think he does. I don't see how unless you think he has a direct source at the Premier League, which I don't think he does. I think it was 4 weeks ago when both Caulkin and Burt were both saying approval was expected "soon", which is likely what the buyers expected at the time. But at the end of the day its down to the Premier League not the buyers. I mean right now, the buyers may think the checks are complete and maybe rightly so. But even if they were at that time, any new info or concerns the Premier League have could mean extra questions are asked, and that will continue until they officially sign it off.
