Nicolai Jorgensen to stay at Feyenoord

"Ashley doesn't give a shit what we think", "Ashley puts in fake bids to con us", one of the great contradictions of our time -
We are in the mix, getting asked for 25m Euro's for a half decent Danish lad..
-
Which is why they should be doing a bit more than spending £19m (their record transfer?) on a lad who's scored 16 goals in 55 games in the French league.. That's pretty abysmal. Mind you, considering his name, maybe we could loan him from Southampton for a week and he could whack Ashley for us?

Main difference is he looks a confident finisher, Mitrovic doesn't. He looks a bit quicker as well and not as much of a loon, both physically similar. -
A striker unproven in this league who's scoring lots of goals where he is now and is wanted by Rafa (so will play) is a big improvement over a lad who doesn't get a game and never will. If we can sell Mitrovic for £15m and bring the other lad in for the same amount then great. Should leave some cash for other areas.

Gayle had 4 good chances against Swansea a couple of them sitters, other players had good chances as well. If we'd had a striker who could finish chances that game we'd have at least 2 more points right now. Not the first time its happened this season either, where we've created chances and they've all been missed. We do struggle to create in some games, against the top sides, but its the teams around us that we need to beat most and we've shown we can create against them. -

Could be a worry in some games. But then if we had a striker who could finish chances on the pitch against Swansea we'd have two more points right now. Same goes for a few other games this season where we created plenty and saw our strikers waste them. -

Whichever one Rafa wants to play is better (since the other is hardly going to score from the bench..). -

I mean you'd rather go for proven shite (Deeney) or mr living dead (Ings) than someone who is unproven in this league but at least scores goals where he is? This lad isn't the most exciting, but fuck me Ings and Deeney would have me slitting my wrists. -
Why would Bournemouth sell Wilson to us though?, given the fact they're fucked at the moment and one of the hopes they have for turning it around is getting Wilson back.
-
Nah not having it that Shelvey isn't really good at passing like, he absolutely is, easily the best we have. He's just got some really glaring weaknesses in other parts of his game that make me want to see him replaced.

Have you watched them? The first minute of the first video (goals and skills) show him have the ball kick into his shins as a defender or running into trouble as an attacker. Maybe I need to go 4 minutes in to find the shots and crosses? You on about KENEDY | Chelsea | - Brazilian Youngster |Skills & Goals| 2016 aye? It takes 50 seconds for the video start showing any highlights And after that, it's about him not really doing much. I'm being negative, I realise this, just don't understand the fascination with that skill against Norwich. Did you watch the whole Norwich game?, he actually played very well, not just one piece of skill. The video shows quite a bit, both good and bad, its cut up into sections to show him defensively, creatively, dribbling, missed chances and then finally goals. Shows plenty of good interceptions and tackles at the start, some crosses and through balls that create chances and goals, then dribbling (again both good and bad) and has a minute or so at the end which shows 7 or 8 goals. Not your typical show reel though, seems a bit more realistic in that its not just trying to show him at his absolute best.

The first 50 seconds don't even show any Football Took about 2 minutes into actual highlights to see quite a few good tackles, interceptions and a few through balls and crosses that set up chances/goals. Obviously its just a highlight reel so nowt to be fixated on, but its nowt like you're describing it, unless you're seeing some other video at the top.

Can't say that I thought he looked thick against Norwich like, he very rarely wasted possession, played some nice balls through and created their goal with a good cross.
-
So then why was Ashley the one the break the silence on the takeover and let everyone know it was off?, fancied putting himself under pressure for a laugh?
-
Its not a huge fee anymore, but still a decent sum. We should be expecting to get someone significantly better than we have up front currently for that money.
-
To be fair I wasn't bothered in the slightest about signing Kenedy, seemed like the most boring transfer saga in history, until I saw him play. Looked very exciting in the cup game, not just his skill, his end product also looked very good. I know its just one game, but he definitely has lots of ability.
-
Or we could go outside the league and find someone twice as good for the same money, bound to be much better strikers available abroad for around 23m Euros.
-
Most teams in the league would break their record at £18m+ like, but aye its mental that our record is so relatively low given the size of the club. Is it still Owen as the record or was Wijnaldum more?
-
Joselu with goals sounds pretty good to me to be honest. I like his all round game, just doesn't score nearly enough.
-
Glad she's come out and spoken, can't stand Ashley's drunken drivel going unchallenged.
-
NDA is about financial details and likely private discussions between the parties relating to the takeover, nothing else.

My theory: PCP contacted the club about possible interest well before the mid October announcement putting the club up for sale officially. We know this to be true because Staveley had been at the Liverpool two weeks earlier, and in the statement there were references made to dilligence periods, so it's fair to assume something was brewing before Ashley showed his hand. I don't think it's therefore hard to imagine how Keith Bishop devised a plan to use the interest to Ashley's advantage regardless of him ever actually being prepared to sell. Let's face it, Ashley had absolutely nothing to lose by doing this. Either it would result in an offer too good to refuse or it would take the heat of him and allow him to get away with spending as little as possible in the January transfer window, which is exactly what seems to be happening. I.e. Amanda Staveley doesn't have to be actually "in" on it - she's probably getting played by Bishop and Ashley like we all are and have been for the past 10 years. Who's letting Ashley get away with spending as little as possible due to the potential takeover like?, who are these people? I'm not, I don't see anyone here who is apart from the occasional loon. Also if this is the aim why has he ended it with 15 days of the transfer window remaining? As a plan to allow him not to spend during this window its not only ridiculously over elaborate but incredibly pointless/ineffective. It also ignores the fact that he really just doesn't give a fucking shit about what we think of him.
-
I don't see anyone saying that its acceptable that we aren't buying players right now due to a potential takeover, don't see how any of this would help Ashley avoid buying players. So yeah I doubt that now just as much as I ever did.
-
Yep agree with this. As ever it all comes down to the fact that Ashley is and always will be a massive cunt. The club isn't just worth more to Ashley if its in a solid position in the league though, its worth more to PCP as well. There bid amount will be effected by the threat of relegation, any sensible bidder would look at that. But only a chancer would actually decide to bid for a club because they think they can get it cheaper at the moment because of the threat of relegation, I don't think Stavelys a chancer like.
