  1. Tottenham collecting Moussa Dembele's...
  2. Think we'll bring Doumbia in ASAP so we've got somebody then try to bring another in before the deadline.
  3. Don't see any point in leaving Madrid where he's a backup player to be a backup player at Valencia instead. Even if McClaren was mental enough to put Dummet ahead of him (which I think is nonesense from Ryder and co) he'd still have games here straight away to show what he's got since everyone else at left back is already injured.
  4. We're obviously going for Doumbia, so Gomis as well?, seems odd. No way would we buy him as well so it would be another loan, why would Swansea loan him out?
  5. Oh aye of course, just saying he does have a decent youtube video Anyway all I can take from that is he's quite good in the air, very quick, likes to get in behind the defence and seems very cool when one on one with the keeper. So he offers something we don't have. The goals where he beats players in the box before scoring could be down just as much to shit defending as his quick feet so its hard to judge there.
  6. Well if he's not impressive on you tube highlights we're f***ed. Just about to say this YouTube makes Obertan look good. Yet all Doumbias goals are terrible and the sort of chances we would never present him with. Wasn't a special goal in the whole video of highlights I watched You must have watched one shit highlight reel. Watch the CSKA4Ever video for him, some cracking goals in there.
  7. Don't think he's played enough to have had purple patches to be honest. He came througu into the first team in 2013/2014 but didn't get regular Football till the following season, then because of his issues he's barely played this season. So he's had one full season in 2014/2015, 33 games and 14 goals that season. Overall 57 games and 22 goals. He looks quality when he plays, and looked great in that 2014/2015 season. But obviously its only a small sample to go on. I'd agree with a few others in that I'd prefer Remy now and Berahino later, because Remy will guarantee us goals right now. But I don't think we're in a position to be that picky. If we got Berahino now I'd be extremely happy with that.

Don't know why he'd need to take a wage cut. If its a loan why would we have a problem paying his wage? Its not like we're taking on a big contract over several years, don't see the issue.
  9. Depends what way we're looking at it. I think he would certainly take the chances if we created them but i'm not sure his work rate or attitude is what we need right now. Tough decision out of the 3. Looking purely at ability. Both decent finishers, but Berahino has much more about his game and is 4 years younger. Rhodes is too slow IMO and completely unproven in this league so I'd rule him out completely personally. Yes Berahino's has had problems at West Brom which makes his attitude questionable, but that's the only reason he'd possibly be available even for £20m, ability/potential wise he's on another level to Dwight Gayle.
  10. Berahino is far better than Rhodes or Gayle like..

Not agreeing to a fee now is totally the right thing to do and I'm glad we've gone that way if true, he's on a long term contract here so we should be in no hurry to get rid of him. Even if he doesn't end up back here playing first team Football will give us a much better chance of getting a good fee for him so no point in agreeing some shitty little fee now.

Can't see Chelsea accepting £7.6m, so Leicester would have to up that offer.

In that case I'm fine with it as long as those using them admit to not knowing very little about what they are talking about like you say I can always admit to not knowing very little like, I don't know very little about everything True... When one's everything is so little what little you know is probably not worth admitting You had me at "true" mate

    Andros Townsend

A fairly significant amount of those Townsend appearances must be in the lower leagues if it's since Obertan came here? Quite impressed you managed to find his assists record from when he was at MK Dons like. Sorry, should have said I only compared like for like competitive games (competitions Obertan also took part in), so Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and European competition. 2 assists for MK Dons BTW

Well he might have been talking out of his arse but I remember him claiming at the time that Barcelona wanted him, but he knew he'd have a much better chance of Football here.

Nah not trying to say you're wrong like, just was the only player that came to mind when I read your post. Still might not even be right, just the only possibility I could think of, which in of itself is quite damning.

Perez maybe?, think he came here over some other clubs because he thought he'd have a better chance of playing rather than us paying him big wages. As if he didn't join us for the wages either compared to what he was on, plus he'll be gone as soon as he gets the chance. He'll have left Tenerife for two reasons, move to a bigger league and increased wages. Point is he had various choices to fulfill both those aims. I just doubt he chose us over the rest because we paid him far more than other teams were offering.

    Andros Townsend

Nowt wrong with looking at stats as a guideline if you have little knowledge of a player. Just needs to be tempered with the knowledge that they are only a guideline and far from definitive.

All competitions since Obertan arrived in England: Obertan: 5988 minutes played (66 full games) Goals - 4 Assists - 14 Townsend: 5915 minutes played (65 full games) Goals - 11 Assists - 15 Not great for either, but until I see Townsend I'll assume he's better than Obertan anyway, he's got to be

    Andros Townsend

Townsend is at least capable of making a decision in the final third, unlike Obertan who just dithers aimlessly on the ball until he gets tackled. At the very least Townsend has confidence in his own ability, he has the guts to actually use his pace to be direct. Obertan has pace and power but he's scared to run at people.
  23. They were already relegated before they brought them in, they just couldn't accept it. Same here, isnt it? Course it isn't QPR were bottom on 14 points at this point in the season, that's hopeless no matter what you do (history shows its a impossible position). We're third bottom on 21 points, plenty of teams have gotten out of that. Point is QPR improved in January with those signings, but they were already too far gone.

    Andros Townsend

By the sounds of it I don't think he's got the footballing intelligence to progress as a player. We've just got to hope that finally getting the move he's wanted for years really hypes him up and he gives it everything, because he does have the raw ability and pace to cause teams problems.
