Nowt wrong with looking at stats as a guideline if you have little knowledge of a player. Just needs to be tempered with the knowledge that they are only a guideline and far from definitive.

Townsend is at least capable of making a decision in the final third, unlike Obertan who just dithers aimlessly on the ball until he gets tackled. At the very least Townsend has confidence in his own ability, he has the guts to actually use his pace to be direct. Obertan has pace and power but he's scared to run at people.

Think it might be a tactic as well, Tottenham might very well want money in for Townsend to use for Ramirez. Even if Ramirez would choose them ahead of us they'll likely be haggling over his fee and competition from other clubs won't help them with that. Plus they've lost the money they wanted to raise for the transfer from the sale of Townsend, double wamy from Fat Ashley

Villa's commercial revenue in 2014 was 25.7m rather than £30m+ wasn't it? At least according to Swiss Ramble. Doesn't changed the overall point of course. Think this really comes down to if we turn up or not. Been very good in our last three Premier League games, and Watford are shit. However we do struggle to put in the effort against the shitter sides, especially away, and Watford are very shit. If we turn up we'll win, if not who knows.
