  1. Total none article that mind, doesn't even say Napoli are going to make a bid. Just claims they're interested and we value him at £25m.
  2. Well its all about opinions but I'd agree with the people who think he looks like a very classy player with massive potential. I struggle to remember many players we've had who have such a great first touch and his level of technique. Doesn't mean he's great at everything, but when he takes the ball and turns it just looks so natural, IMO our most talented player especially considering he's only 22.
  3. He's a good player, but not as good as our lowered expectations make him out to be? Personally disagree, I mean how I compare him to other players past or present hasn't been effected by the lowering of expectations at the club.
  4. He's simply just better than Berahino altogether. Would be mental. Is he really though? Think he's a much classier player than Berahino, not as quick like which can be very important in this league.
  5. Absolutely spot on, e veryone is going on about Berahino's attitude etc, he is still young and may learn, Remy has proven to everyone he doesn't give a s*** about anything except money. It shocks me that people think this way about someone who's not done a great deal wrong and could be the difference in staying up and being relegated. If he was driven by money then he'd have signed for QPR after their first offer and not spurned them on a couple of occasions before finally accepting one that he'd have been stupid to refuse. The he turned down the chance to join us after his loan move to join the team that went on the become champions. And ? Most people would have had Cabaye back, myself included, but he done far worse to us than Remy did. Personally I would rather have someone proven, with a questionable attitude than a kid who's relatively unproven with one. I really don't think that makes sense like, the fact he had no interest in QPR until they threw big money at him hardly shows that he isn't driven by money. I know what you are saying but I still think that if he was driven by money he'd have gone to QPR for an extra 5k a week. If the reports were true he knocked them back 3 times before accepting double the amount we were offering as well as being told he could leave if they went down. At the end of the day he wanted to come to England, had no affinity to either club, both clubs are struggling and a place apart at the bottom end of the league, one's offering him the chance to play in front of 50 thousand every other week up North, the other is offering him double the wages, London and the chance to leave if it's relegated ? Being realistic would anyone not do what he did in that situation ? QPR were bottom on 14 points, we were 16th on 21 points, not a world away but not just one place, QPR looked dead and buried. No idea what QPR offered him initially or even if they managed to make a real offer up until they hijacked him in London. As far as I remember Remy actually refused to even speak to them on a couple of occasions. Might have been no affinity to either club but his preference was very clearly to play here. That was until he found out they were willing to pay him so much cash. Don't mind anymore like, not bothered at all even though it was a bit irritating at the time. But I don't agree that any of his actions show he wasn't primarily money driven. Even his move to Chelsea was crazy IMO, assuming it was true that Arsenal wanted him at the time he'd have been much better off in Footballing terms going there. But no doubt Chelsea offered more cash.
  6. Tbh I'd rather keep him and get rid of either Anita or Colback. Rather get rid of Colback yes but not Anita IMO. Anita is fit more often and while never outstanding is never a liability either (unlike Tiote). Also younger and can play more than one position. Happy enough with Anita as a squad player.
  7. Please don't tell me we're stuck with this fucker

    Andros Townsend

I want to play football too. But you're shit at it though so not even worth a loan.

    Andros Townsend

Don't know much about him admittedly but he's always struck me as someone who just wants to play Football. So if he's doing well here and we already have a deal agreed with Tottenham through the loan then I could see him staying If not, well then at least he'd have had a great 6 months for us and helped us get out of trouble (he'd have to to attract the kind of interest that could turn his head), then we could look elsewhere. Buy him permanently now and he's shit and we're stuck with a millstone around our necks
  11. No he didn't. Nor did 'he' spend £6m on Riviere (£1.8m), nor £12.5m on Cabella (£5.2m), etc., etc. Let's be generous and leave the TV money, all half-billion of it since Ashley oozed into town, and consider the £25m/yr advertising he's getting in lieu of the 'interest free' £130m he 'loaned' himself when he became owner. So on that basis alone, he's into us for about £100m, Sky and prize money excluded, which is pushing half-a-billion. #fuckingthievingfatcunt Where are you getting these numbers from?..
  12. Right, someone who has proven he can score regularly in the Prem is a myth. One of whom just signed for Soton; and there are a myriad of others we could potentially poach / unsettle. Pretty sure someone over 25 in a foreign league with a physique or technique built for the Prem will also be scoring more, like how we found cisse from Germany. What I'm saying it, it boils down to signing experienced strikers and not kids to lead the line. Love Mitro but he was never gonna be the answer for a team trying to survive. Strange thing to say about a players who's just been instrumental in gaining us 3 points IMO. Anyway I agree with Semtex, in that Mitrovic is worth persevering with. He's playing well and helping the team score goals. He's also getting chances and surely will start taking some of them himself soon enough. I mean I'm sure his better than 1 every 2 games record for Anderlecht wasn't a fluke.. Obviously nowt wrong with bringing in another striker, but not because Mitrovic isn't good enough, get someone who can compliment him or give us another option.
  13. He was involved in all of our goals against Man Utd, but its not just that. Him linking play allowed us to do what we did today. Obviously plenty of players contributed a lot (Wijnaldum was fantastic for instance). But without Mitrovic flicking it on, or laying it off for midfield players that performance just wouldn't have happened. He fucking lead the line amazingly. Some people seem to have the delusion that he could have just been replaced by a finisher and obviously the same chances would have come his way regardless, as if Mitrovic contributed nowt other than trying to put the ball in the net himself. In reality he was essential to just about everything we did.
  14. Yeah, Demba Ba would have had 2 or 3 today. Misstrovic is a good all around player, but he is paid to score goals, the one thing missing from his game. Hope we aren't relegated on the back of that fact. You seriously have to be taking the piss. Same goes to the fucker you're replying to.
  15. QPR turning down £12m in the summer, now they're going to get £4m six months later , said this kind of thing would happen. We should definitely be in their at that price though.
  16. If only Colback had gotten booked against Man Utd, there'd be no option but to give Saivet and Shelvey a chance from the start (forget Gouffran, if he started him defensive midfield I'd fucking murder him). Colback the little cunt can't do anything positive, not even get himself banned.
  17. Frustrating as fuck with his loose touches and shit shooting but he is still one of out main threats, creates chances and is sometimes the only player causing the opposition problems. Got to be in the side at the moment. Let him go in the summer if he wants to go but not a chance can we sell him now. As much as I don't rate Townsend he's got the same kind of direct running ability as Sissoko so having both in the same side could cause the opposition all sorts of problems, pointless bringing in one and letting the other go.
  18. ..by a player with zero experience of our league. Even for £8mil i thought it was daft selling him considering the position we're in. £4Mil is just plane crazy. Zero experience in the league vs mostly shit and always injured.
  19. Think Shelvey has at least proven he can be very effective in this league. Townsend on the other hand hasn't, and he's been in this league for years, total gamble there IMO.

    Florian Thauvin

Agree. Although we've got to remember the players do train every day. Fans might scream give him a chance, but if he's absolute shite in training he's never going to get in. Manager's credibility with the players would go down the pan if the lad that tarts around all week gets a game regardless I bet Shola was amazing in training.. Ben Arfa was probably shite though.
  21. Only 300 pages since he left though

    Sunderland

Only one of them was a clear offside, and we were on the receiving end of a shocking penalty decision. Swansea f*cked up. They should have kept coming at us when they were 2-1 up, even with ten men they could have won. Instead they sat back and let us take the game to them. Bad decision, presumably by their manager. One offside was blatantly obvious in real time, the other was clearly offside when viewed from a replay. Amazing to get both your way when it takes us three blatant fouls in the area to get one pen. Based on two good results?, could have said the same after our little run against much better sides.

    Florian Thauvin

Possibly, their was a wide variety of fees mentioned when he came in, £12m, £10m, £8m. Would make more sense if we only paid £8m. Still does seem like we geniunely paid £13m or very close to that for Thauvin though and Marseille are skint.

    Florian Thauvin

Didn't we pay about £10m for Cabella and agreed to sell him for £5.8m a season later, that's not a fair chunk back IMO. We've then spent £13m on Thauvin, and what will we get back realistically from Marseille just 6 months later?, not close to £13m, they can't afford that kind of money.
  25. Pires had the backing of Wenger and he presumably wanted to stay in England. McClaren clearly doesn't rate Thauvin at all and it looks like Thauvin doesn't really want to be here either. Either we have to sack off McClaren or sack off Thauvin. If it's down to Charnley there's only going to be one winner. Even IF he wants to leave, we don't have to let him go immediately. Ask him to wait until the summer and have a word with McClaren about giving him a few games ASAP. Its not a case of picking the team for McClaren either, just suggesting to the manager that its a waste of money to spend £13m on someone if he won't even try him. Doesn't have to happen now either, just need McClaren to have a word with the player and tell him that as soon as he can he's going to get him a few games in a row to show what he can do, give him a few assurances. If it doesn't work out he can go in the summer.
