We weren't linked with him at all before this season were we? Think its safe to say we've scouted him since he moved into midfield.
-
f*** off Even our current starting central midfielders are better than Gouffran in that position and that's saying something. But Gouffran isn't a central/holding midfielder and neither is he really? To be honest it's anyones f***ing guess where he'll play - if he goes CM then I'll say he'll be no better than Anita. If he plays on the wing I'll say he'll do no better than Gouffran. Basically all I'm saying is I'm very f***ing underwhelmed with this signing and it's another Frenchman to keep the rest of the lazy disinterested s***s in the dressing room clique company. Well the only start Gouffran made this season he was in defensive midfield, we lost 6 -1 as well Anyway I'm hardly excited by the signing, but since I've never seen him play (same as you) I'll wait and see before deciding he's shit.

Why is 5ft 9 any concern for a central midfielder? Rob Lee is 5ft 10, Cabaye is 5ft 7. More that combined with the fact he's a winger, it just sounds horrible, and not at all something we should be gambling on when our midfield presence is close to 0. I've never seen him like, he might be absolutely mint He was a winger, until this season. I assume our scouts have actually watched him this season when he's played 22 games in midfield. Certainly his ratings on who scored have rocketed up since he moved there, but that's hardly conclusive. Hopefully we get him and Shelvey and can at least try to forget Colback ever existed.

He wasn't decent at scoring, and was going nowhere as a winger apparently. His best form in years is since he's been moved to midfield. With Gouffran we bought a striker in form and just never played him as a striker and instead kept playing him in midfield were he was fucking shit. This lad has been moved because he failed up front after 8 years at the club and the manager thought he could be better in midfield, and he has been. Who knows if he'll be good, I'm hopeful but far from sure, don't see any similarity to Gouffran though.

SOLD! Hmm, every other bit of info I've seen suggests he's been shit on the wing when he's played there but taken to central and defensive midfield very well Also while far from conclusive Who Scored have him rated at 6.1 when he's played attacking left wing and 7.5 in defensive midfield.

You don't think he's far better than what we have? I've never been his biggest fan (partly because he seems like a right tosser at times). But he at least does have undoubted ability, even if he's inconsistent that still puts him way ahead of anyone we have in central midfield.
-
He's not just going to come in and be made captain obviously. But hopefully he can show some kind of leadership in midfield (if we sign him of course) because we've got none at the moment.
-
To be fair Gouffran would have been much better used here as a striker, at least he can score goals when played their consistently, he's pointless in midfield. Why he never got a go up front when we were playing fucking Shola there I'll never know, then again As far as Saivet, never seen him play but apparently he's a quick, powerful defensive midfielder and has been one of the few positives for Bordeaux this season. Also their captain so hopefully he could be a commanding presence in central midfield. Fee seems to be around £4.5m.

Based on the little Dennis Wise scouting I did he didn't look particularly imposing physically. Based on his wiki he's smaller than Colback too. Same height aren't they? Wiki says they're both 5 foot 9 (1.75 meters) anyway. Difference is Saivet doesn't have the physique of a small boy.

I'm the first to complain about his shitness, but smashing Colback would leave us relying on two worse options. How can it get worse than non-existent?

Anyone without ginger hair probably.

Looks like he's using the game to test something new, quite positive outside of Thauvin still not playing. But I suppose he's hardly a wing back. -
People on here are hilarious like. We offered him a trial, they obviously offered him a contract.

We'd get rid of plenty of overpaid dross, maybe not as much as last time because last time around the majority of our squad was overpaid dross. Unfortunately I think we'd find it much easier this time to offload some of the good players, Perez, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Cisse, Janmaat and Mitrovic would be easy to move on. Still last time we only kept 4 or 5 decent players, the rest were donkey shit and we still pissed the Championship. Lets just not go down in the first place eh? -

Aye who cares about winning things, being the 17th best team in the league, that's all that matters If we get relegated we won't be challenging for any major trophy for the forseeable future and the whole direction of the football club looks ominous regardless of whether Ashley sells it or not. It's easy to pass out a cynical reply but the reality is if we go down the chances of actually getting back to a club of even a remotely respectable stature at the top level seems massively unlikely.Like I said, for the first time ever, I'd rather we focussed on the league and then if we managed to stay up you have to hope further investment will happen to build on what we have. But still, A win for momentum would probably be more beneficial than a loss. Except that isn't the reality at all. In fact the exact same opinion was probably put forward in 08-09. I personally don't think we'd repeat what we achieved last time we got relegated. The Championship is are much more difficult league with stronger spending powers than it was back then. That's without even considering what we'd be left with after everyone on big contracts was sold. People claimed the Championship was a difficult league last time around. We sold plenty last time from arguably a even worse team than we have now IMO and still pissed the league. BTW what new spending power does the Championship have? -
Pretty simple what I'm suggesting like. That as bad as we've been having a even worse player in his place (like Tiote is 90% of the time) would make us even worse (of course Colback is the worst of the lot but apparently he has to be one of the two starters ). Rest of your post has nowt to do with me as at no point have I ever claimed he's a really good midfielder let alone "supremo". He's just less shit than the rest.
-
If money was everything the likes of Russia and China would have much better leagues.
-
16 games, but only one start and two sub appearances from the last seven matches, and no he isn't that good IMO. But he's still better than Townsend.
-
Well to be fair he isn't even getting a game for Swansea. Tottenham might be prepared to play hardball with unwanted players but that doesn't mean Swansea will. On the other hand I'm really not sure if Shelvey is the answer to be honest..

So its true then 'Pards', you thick cunt

Who says we have?

Wouldn't say 25m Euro's is that unbelievable really considering what we paid for Wijnaldum. Is that real or are you just guessing Ryder's next move?
