  1. I think some people have forgotten what it’s like to have a battering ram up front who scores a few goals, like. A skilled target man is still one of the most effective weapons in the game, for me, and he’ll hopefully help us play a few yards further up the pitch. The ball’s barely stuck up there since Rondon was here, which makes it very hard to play off for the midfielders and wide men. I’ve got more worries about the footballing intelligence of the rest of our attackers than I do about Wood performing his role as required. We’re fucking rubbish at anticipating flicks and knock downs when we do manage to win one. It’s becoming a lost art.

    I love this lot, man.
  3. Left foot, right foot, headers, pens. Shearer and Drogba his favourite strikers. You’ll do for me not bonny lad.
  4. Happy with this. Don’t make me look a cunt, Chris.
  5. If Wilson wasn't out, would people still be so downhearted? Cambridge was an aberration, but I feel like we've been playing pretty well before that, despite some howkings. I'd obviously love us to get some more business done ASAP, but as others have said we can name pretty much the XI that should have beaten Man Utd. Even if we don't sign anyone by Saturday, which I'd be amazed at, I'll still be heading to the ground feeling like it's a game we should be winning with these players. If no changes and Gayle & Lascelles are fit, I'd go: Dubravka Murphy Krafth Lascelles Schar Trippier Fraser Shelvey Joelinton Saint-Maximin Gayle
  6. Hyperbolic nonsense. We draw both and we're likely in the exact same position we are now, and with a stronger squad. We could beat Watford and lose to Leeds and be in a better position than we are now, particularly if Burnley and Watford draw midweek.
  7. I'd take watching Lascelles at CB over Krafth any day of the week!
  8. Does he definitely still have a source? He hasn't posted a line-up for ages, which points to the fact that he doesn't. It was weekly at one point.
  9. If people could start posting sources, that'd be smashing mind.
  10. From L'Equipe via Google Translate: The meetings between leaders of Monaco and representatives of Newcastle have multiplied this weekend for a transfer of Benoît Badiashile. But the defender's injury could slow the case down. January 11, 2022 at 2:06 p.m Benoit Badiashile is going through a particularly dense period. The young defender of AS Monaco came out injured against Nantes on Sunday (0-0). A muscle relapse that will take him away from the land until the beginning of March. An injury that occurs in a particular context. As revealed in our columns last week, the international Under-21s (20 years old, under contract until 2024) is attracting the interest of at least two clubs in England. While Wolverhampton was positioned last week, it is Newcastle who have accelerated in recent days. Meetings between the leaders of AS Monaco and the representatives of the English club took place, in particular this weekend. The Magpies arrive with solid financial arguments. The potential offer listed would be for an amount of around € 40 million. Enough to convince AS Monaco? The Principality's club has entered into reflection. But can this proposal still hold up with the player's injury? Not sure. Newcastle, in great difficulty in the Championship (19th, 11 points) can hardly afford to recruit a player who will not be available for several weeks. At the same time, Newcastle, who positioned themselves without success on Lille's Sven Botman (21), remains attentive to several cases of right-handed central defenders (Issa Diop ...).

This is what's called elevating a pretty piss poor joke. Thanks man. Has the Reuben plane been used for anything that we know of? Trippier was on the usual Gulfstream wasn't he?

Getting Hoarau to play the Kuqi role, I reckon.
  13. Keep the faith, everyone. Let’s hope today is a good day.
  14. He’s an absolute gobshite man.

  16. Aye. Getting sick of the football ruining football.

    Sven Botman

Not to mention the fact that if he said the opposite, it probably wouldn't be the best negotiating tactic. Sometimes journalists are working with the club when they comment on stuff.

Is this not just rehashed old news btw? Romano reported €35M being rejected a week ago. I'd definitely be worried™ if we'd just kept bidding the same amount over and over in attempt to wear them down.
