  1. Is it still £940k per televised game, or did that go up this summer?
  2. Still no word on a sleeve sponsor. A few teams have just announced this week, but we're cutting it fine as usual. You'd think it would earn us around £2-3m a year, considering Liverpool got £5m and Man Utd £12m. Apparently we could be part of a group who are negotiating to share a sponsor through SGI, from what I've found with a quick search. There's no confirmation from Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, Everton, Tottenham or West Ham yet either, while Southampton and Arsenal are forbidden from finding new sponsors due to their existing deals with Virgin Media and Emirates.
  3. One I had hoped we'd be in for, but can't complain at Murphy/Kenedy instead.
  4. Think he'll be kept and used as a wildcard sub if he can stay fit. If we're not doing shite by Jan then maybe send to Champioship. I'm liking our depth out wide, though none of them are really Prem proven (even Ritchie was fair-to-middling in his season).
  5. Kenedy coming in looks a shrewd move given the number of positions he can operate in. Does it impact on Gamez and/or Aarons in any way, do people think? Been very little on a potential loan for Aarons and he has impressed in pre-season (yet again). Gamez seems to be one we'd sell if we got a reasonable offer in for. Think we've still got massive holes up front (2, arguably), at number ten and in goal. Otherwise it's starting to come together.
  6. Ryder at the cutting edge of journalism once more.

    Kenedy

Well tbf the Mirror own the Ronny Gill, so they could lay claim to this. They did with the one the Echo broke, so I guess it's possible.

    Kenedy

Was that one Atsu as well? I'm not really counting Atsu as it was an option. The only one they broke was Murphy.

Chronicle now at 1/5 for the summer. Love these "out of nowhere" deals.

    Alan Shearer

Meeting this geezer tonight. I think.
  12. I hope he gets on well with himself, he deserves to.
  13. It really doesn't need to be this difficult.
  14. Chalobah, Hughes and Richarlison?
  15. Not sure Hardy is the type to talk shite in such an open way. Why would he risk his relationship with Benitez for a Q&A with Sky? I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks very carefully about what he says about the club and the manager, to the extent he'll even be trotting out a particular message to suit the latter's agenda.
  16. It paints a very bleak picture and is coming from the most reliable source yet, I personally haven't seen the "four players" or "top five" bit mentioned anywhere else but I might have missed it.

  18. Krul, Hanley, Good, Haidara, Lazaar, Saivet and Riviere are the ones that absolutely need to be moved on ASAP, with Colback not far behind them. Provided we're able to do this and get some incoming business underway, then the likes of Gamez, De Jong and Mitrovic could be for the chop too. However, things have really moved at a snail's pace in terms of outgoings and we're left hoping that teams start to get desperate at the end of the window. Save for another summit between Ashley and Benitez, whereby the latter convinces the former to extend the overdraft or to underwrite more debt in the very short-term (i.e. less than 12 months), then we're looking a bit stuck. If the money's not there and we don't have the ability to take on more debt, what can we do other than to back-load deals like we did with Merino? Not every club is going to go for that, unfortunately.
  19. 4-4-1-1 and 4-2-3-1 are largely interchangeable, but think your version is more accurate.
  20. Elliot Manquillo Lejeune Clark Dummett Shelvey Hayden Ritchie De Jong Atsu Gayle Seems like De Jong/Gayle and Perez/Mitrovic are the pairings at the moment, this is assuming Gayle passes fit. 2-2
  21. Another eccentric older goalkeeper who loves rushing off his line. I'm seeing a pattern here.
