Just tell yourself he'd never have reached his potential here...

Tend to go with that, we're already struggling to give Abeid and Vuckic sufficient game time as it is. I'm happy enough to gamble on those two (plus Sammy) for now, all three have shown enough to vindicate sticking with them. If this lad wasn't such a grade A arsehole my opinion may be to the contrary, like, but it just doesn't appear to be worth it.

Think all of that's very fair, to be honest. What do you make of Dyche down there generally GG? I thought he'd struggle based on what I knew of his character, think he's the most alpha male I've ever seen in my life.
-
Nah, wasn't getting at that to be honest. Was really just being tongue-in-cheek more than anything. There's no reason why we should undo our good fortune/work now (you hear that Derek? Mike?) and the only real problem I could forsee in a "worst case scenario" would be more severe injuries to some of our key men, of which Demba is probably the most key at the current time. A derby loss would be rancid, but aside from that I don't see any reason for anything other than cautious optimism given the turn of events in Africa. I was dreading "plodding through" with what we had until Wolves, because for all our possession in the first-half against Fulham I thought we looked utterly toothless and inept up-front. These two coming back into that system, for Best and Shola, or into a 4-4-2 with the same personnel is jizz-worthy.

Too many times this season now, surely? What could possibly be lurking around the corner?

Have a look at their group. Funny old game! Wasn't really expecting him back until Wolves to tell the truth, but almost a full month sooner? With a pal in tow?

Diame needs a move, IMO. Lost a bit from his game recently at Wigan, he has been absolutely stand-out in some games I've seen in the past.

That made me do a Paulie from Sopranos chuckle right there, well played. I'm already bricking the Derby like, with the tickets coming out today. It's not far away at all and they are in danger of turning up with O'Neill there now. We might only win this one by the odd goal

Probably been answered - but if the old thread still exists does it make any difference? Would understand if it got deleted. It's not the disk space used by a thread on the server that's the problem really, at least not in isolation. Rebooting threads just means the database isn't digging up 25,000 posts every time someone clicks a particular thread. While the other one is still accessible as an archive of sorts, this one is where the vast majority of the activity will be transferred to now.

Think the comments are fair, personally, extremely positive if anything.

Merged this thread with the other one, there was no need for two. As you created it you can alter the thread title yourself when a new convention is taking place, etc.

What's this about? Basically, for the majority of his Southampton career (you may have noticed) Puncheon has been loaned elsewhere; Millwall, Blackpool, and more recently QPR. Each time he's returned and each time Nicola Cortese the Southampton Chairman has told him he's not part of their plans (note the chairman not the manager). So now he's training with the reserves/youth team, I'd imagine to keep him from destabilizing a first team that is in a promotion race. It's harsh as I don't know what Puncheon's done wrong really. Shame he can't just come to a mutual cancellation agreement. Manager "hates" him as well, so I've heard. He's just meant to be a pure twat.
-
Since he upped his training to 90% facial expressions and dry humour: 10% football from the 50:50 it used to be. Genuine chuckle there. He can pull a face still, I'll give him that.

Was that the year of the Fenerbache fan invasion on here? When we beat them? Think I watched that one on a portable TV in Gran Canaria. Class man!

Ronaldo, i don't really. I've said how much i enjoyed being in the UEFA Cup because i felt it was a tournament we could win. That goes for all seasons. 06/07 was God awful and i agree with you completely about it being second only to the relegation year. Europe was fun until van Gaal gave Roeder a tactical arse-raping, Sibierski in particular lit up some miserable nights. There was definitely a genuine feeling we could somehow go far with that team. Dyer was fucking class, ability gets underrated because of his injury record and attitude.

We don't fit into their template at the minute, unfortunately. I don't mind it too much though, it's just nice to see us up there when they show the top six (or top seven as they have to at the moment). I like being the scrappy little fighter flying under the radar, though, makes us more dangerous if anything. We all know we're performing above expectations at the moment anyway, but as Sewelly says we're currently looking stronger than we did before January and that may improve further still by the time the window closes. We just need to plod through until after the ACN and then have a real fucking go with the boys back.

When and why did Arshavin just stop caring? He was unplayable at times when he arrived. It's a sad state of affairs there, but particularly where he's concerned.
-
Watching Obafemi Martins head the winner against Zulte Waregem on Channel 5... with my Grandma. Halcyon days man Ronaldo. Wouldn't say no to something similar next season, mind.

Williamson just has not been able to deal with Johnson, unfortunately. He's terrorised him. I worried when they were forced into that change that it would improve them ten-fold, took a while but they got in there in the end. Feeling disbelief here at how we've buckled, but can't help but come back to the decision to give a penalty instead of a free-kick for their equaliser. Should have been a second yellow like, I suppose.
