Sounds like it will look canny to me, if a bit gimmicky. Anything to get the place jumping though, I suppose. Shows the club are at least looking into actively promoting the atmosphere.

It is Caçapa man Caçapa is obviously right, but I think we could at least just go for Cacapa. You're never going to get people to type in ALT+whatever to do that every bloody time man, give it a rest. Or if you're that keen, at least tell people the combination is ALT+0231 with "Num Lock" on - you çpud

Let's Make It A Black And White Spectacular! SATURDAY sees Newcastle United's first home Premier League game of the 2007/08 season - and we want YOU to help raise the roof for Big Sam and the boys. After beginning the campaign with a 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium, the Magpies will be looking to maintain winning ways when Martin O'Neill's men arrive at St. James' Park. To help make home advantage count, we want the stadium to be a sea of black and white on Saturday. The club have arranged for 4,000 black and white streamers to be placed in the East Stand tomorrow. Fans will be asked to throw these when United take to the pitch just before kick off to create a spectacular black and white impact that will help inspire the players. Fans are also reminded to take note of the new traffic arrangements around St. James's and also to remember that Saturday is the first game when the new season ticket smart cards are in operation. So the advice is clear - give yourself plenty of time to get to your seat before kick-off. And don't forget that if you are in the ground early then there are great discount food and drink offers available on the concourse. Half-time on Saturday will also see United pay tribute to supporter Mark Allison who has recently completed the gruelling 874-mile run from John O'Groats to Lands End for charity. To celebrate his amazing achievement and fundraising efforts, Mark will run a lap of honour around the St. James' track at half-time. www.nufc.co.uk

Exactly! (Allegedly)

I know we're similar and all that, but howay man:

That's a separate thing altogether, it's actually up on the main site now as well.

Saw Taylor at the Odeon on Monday (?) for Rush Hour 3, kept his head down and just looked a normal lad. Scary-looking in real life like, but not as "built" as I'd expected. Eating nachos and popcorn with cheese/salsa/jalapenos, for all the dieticians out there.

Given has actively gone about engineering a move away from the club in the form of handing in a transfer request, people talk about Bellamy's "Craig Bellamy has to do whats best for Craig Bellamy" interview as if it was a lack of commitment but Given handing in a transfer request was no better, as for the country over club comment being Irish means national games are accommodated around league games over here so he's never been put in that position. No point in buying players from outside of Europe if you're going to moan when they want to play for their country. You've got your Kontrary Kecks on again, I see Both have made mistakes in the past, as everyone does, but to question Given's overall commitment to this football club is barmy, particularly in the way that alpal did earlier. We all know Given is the best goalkeeper at the club, Given himself knows he's the best goalkeeper at the club and he's proven it time and time again, he has never actually left the club, like Solano did - and looks to be doing a second time around. It could be argued that both times the circumstances have been out of control, but he's obviously done himself no favours on both occasions. People seem to find it easy to remember Given's discrepancies, while completely forgetting Nobby had a big part to play in his downfall under Robson and has seemingly got himself into bother this time round in an off-field capacity. The point about the international games have nothing to do with being non-EU, nothing at all, it's the fact that it was the catalyst for him having to be sold to Villa, because he went back on his word to Robson. I don't know whether you're just trying to "develop the debate" or whatever you'd call it to fill your time - just seeing the last line of your reply to Chez confirms it there actually - so that's good enough for me. Can't be arsed with this, because no matter what's posted you'll do a Vic on it I've been hooked in one too many times already, I'll let you get on with it.

Carr must be feeling like the last Turkey in the farmyard at Christmas time now! He's still got Wor Celestine beating him to that mantle, unfortunately. If the players were turkeys he'd still be my first pick for Christmas lunch, mind. Especially now Titus has gone.
-
That's because Nobby's from South America! Too predictable man. I'd expect better from you. You get some pretty white people from South America, don't you?
-
Given's never actually left the club, though, has he? Or actively put his country as a higher priority? Not even a close call in my eyes, Given every time, who's only been unsettled under dodgy managers who had Harper down as the better 'keeper. I'm sure someone could dig some stuff up on Nobby from the media when Bowyer/Ambrose were brought in. I don't remember him being whiter than white when his automatic first-team position came under threat.

Saw that yesterday, good stuff B-man. Some inbred cretins actually think it's slagging Villa off though, still. Despite the fact it was written by a Villa fan. Would be funny if it wasn't so sad i think the post by Kan is a knowing that I am a Villa fan, ironic post. Although I may be wrong. What's your excuse for the other two? :parky: Just think it's a case of people seeing the title, seeing the source website, going "AAAAAARGHHHHNNNNRRRR!!!" and making a comment before even reading the article itself.

Newcastle (from): Harper, Carr, N'Zogbia, Rozehnal, Taylor, Solano, Milner, Geremi, Butt, Smith, Viduka, Martins, Ameobi, Owen, Ramage, Pattison, Cacapa, Enrique, Emre.

No Enrique in the squad of 16 according to Allardyce, he's still getting himself up to "peak condition". Owen will most likely be on the bench. Emre is back in full training, but isn't fit enough to be in the squad either. Forster, Ramage, Cacapa, Ameobi and Owen will be the bench now, IMO.

Could also be media-pressure from Forde or someone at Bolton to force our hand into giving them what they want? We'll see how it develops.
-
Dont mean to shit on your post buddy, but i dont think its safe to count Enrique as an improvement over anyone, most of us have never seen him kick a ball, same goes for Cacapa. Although i did watch Cacapa play in the CL, and he did look sound, not really anything to go by, as it was against a very boring real madrid side. I have seen both play more than once, in fairness (Enrique for a full match in the flesh at SJP last season and numerous times on SkySports), though of course I haven't been avid watchers of the pair of them, or paid particular attention to them. Like you said, you cannot really compare it to how they'll fair in a new team and a new country, but I'm fairly confident that they don't have to do that well to be a step-up from Ollie and Craig. I'd be shocked if Enrique does less for us than Bernard did last season, put it that way. Of course there's a chance he'll get crocked and miss every game of the season while collecting his wages, but surely the odds are in his favour that he'll be an improvement on Bernard? Seems logical enough to me. If he plays a solitary minute of a game he'll be an improvement, unless he scores an own goal or gets sent off in that minute As for Cacapa and Moore, it's a similar story, I know the Brazilian has had his share of injury problems in the past but Craig Moore made 29 starts for us in two years, along with 2 sub appearances - which is fucking ridiculous, and he wasn't even very good when he did play. Cacapa comes with huge pedigree and experience (i.e. he hadn't "failed" at Palace and been released by a club for drinking, allegedly). I really don't see it as much of a stretch to say both will be improvements, the odds are heavily in-favour.

Fucking delighted with this!! When it comes to cup draws I always have four options: Sunderland, Tottenham, Preston and Barnsley because I have family who support all four of them (big family). My little cousin down there in Yorkshire is Barnsley daft and has a season ticket with his Dad, just saw them up here for the Sunderland/Juventus match and was saying how I hope we draw them up here in the cup sometime so the laddy can come and see the ground from the inside and during a match. Took him around it last summer, before the tours came into full effect. Perfect excuse to buy him a full Newcastle kit now, because he's already been had by the Sunderland members of my 'clan' after his SOS visit. Fantastic news, I'm chuffed, both family-wise and football-wise.
-
Seconded. I'd still be delighted with this, though it seems other people's expectations are being raised by everything that's going on. If Solano goes, he does still need replacing mind. If he stays, the squad looks good to me. Even a RB is a big ask when Faye, Taylor and Cacapa can all play there and not all will be getting a game at centre-half, but it would be great if we could sort this as well.
-
yeh and not for anything less than 10 million.. if we'r lucky.. with prices these days he could be be worth up to 15. g. barnes anybody? Might be overpriced now but he's got pace, he's young and in a couple of seasons we'll be laughing. he looks to be shaping into a class player.. methinks its now at 5 mil or next year at 8 mil+ Barnes would be an ideal signing, but will he pass a medical with a fractured metatarsal?
-
Exactly. Dragutinovic wanted too much money, but is yet to sign a new contract with Sevilla unless I'm mistaken, there is still a very slight chance it could go through if he reduces his demands. I still think we'll be sniffing around Heinze and Sam's interest in Silvestre as well shows that we're looking for this sort of player, if one becomes available. I cannot see us getting Faye, a RB and a defender of this sort, though, it will be two of the three at best.
-
I'd be happy with that. What if we keep the little Peruvian trumpet tooter? Still pleased enough? Nope. We need better than him or Milner on the right. Bloody hell. Hard to please. Martins is in the process of making that sort of position his own, if you ask me, and I'm really not sure how much we'll play 4-4-2 this season. It's a difficult one, but I personally think Geremi/Solano/Milner as right-midfield options in a 4-4-2 is as good as we've had there for years, if we ever require it.
-
Not as close as we all expected then and with BBC Sport's earlier "before the end of August thing", it may be a little while yet before we can have the next A. Faye on our books. As long as he's here before the transfer window is out, I'll be happy, his arrival isn't a pressing concern but the sooner the better, obviously.
